Avoid this hotel in Kyoto
Generally walking distance (15 mins) to Gion and other tourist areas.
The service fell far below our expectations. From check-in issues (2 hours later) to house keeping (lack of attention to detail) and concierge (prepare to wait at least 20 mins to speak to someone who then will provide you with lackluster service coupled with some racial slurs and/or at best mediocre suggestions). On top of these service issues the hotel itself is very outdated; think multimillion dollar renovations needed ASAP (fire hazard cords in room, stained carpets). When we shared our thoughts with management they didn’t have anything to say.

Superb facilities and attentive staff. Prime location for visiting Kyoto. Much appreciated the shuttle bus.

Staff complained that i booked with kayak ..no starpoints or status night or no late checkout or no other benefits. This unlike my gold status and the fact that i stayed there 4 times over the last year....
