One of the nicest locations we experienced during our journey in Japan. Authentic 100 year old house and a lot of care given to all details. The owner was very friendly. Bicycles to rent available, proving very useful in Kyoto. The bedroom was cozy and large. Shower and bathroom clean and sufficient space for changing clothes. Beautiful living room inviting to relax after touring and strolling around in the city.
No complaints at all.
Everything! The host is a super nice person. Everything was cleaned to perfection and this 100 year old house make you feel and live the real Japanese experience. I really recommend this place to stay in Kyoto.
Hanna and her Husband were so kind with us. We felt like at home. The neighbourhood is very nice. It’s not touristic, you have the impression to live with Japanese. There are lovely streets near the house as Gion area. We had a personal problem and Hana and her Husband were very helpful, it was so important at that moment. The house is very nice and clean. We regret no to rent the kimono with Hana because she is a professional.
The guesthouse was just so nice ! A traditional house with a nice garden and decoration. You really feel transported in the old Kyoto. The owner was so nice, she did so much to help us visit the different places, she prepared some tea for us and suggested to try some kimonos (not free). She also gave up tips about a nice public bath close by (good place to relax in hot water). The room was perfect and very comfortable, showers and other equipments were perfect.
The location is ok, at a walk-able distance from The Golden Pavilion. But it takes quite some time from the train station to reach (around 30min). Actually Kyoto has only 2 metro lines not at all covering the city, buses are quite slow (many many many stops...) and crowded. Train lines are not always connected. Plan well your itinerary !
We had a lovely stay! 5 of 5 stars! Great atmosphere, location and convenient!
