Loud during the night
Hot shower. They changed me from a room with fan to a room with aircon. Aircon worked fine.
Firstly, it's at the top of a steep hill this is made worse by the locals burning plastic at the top, just when you're gasping for air. If you need anything from the shop, you have to brave the hill. Secondly, the huts are absolutely filthy. I've stayed in huts with traditional roofs and they were not like this. All metal is rusted beyond belief, if you have any cuts, be very careful. The floor is pathetically swept so there is dirt, sand, dust and dead bugs everywhere. Simple things aren't cleaned like, the shower system was filthy, light switches where actually covered in grime, the mat of the floor hadnt been washed in years, I got grit on my feet when I walked on it. The bedding was horrendous, no mosquito net in either of the rooms I stayed in. the sheets are so thin that you are basically sleeping on the mattress. They were also stained and ripped. The blanket it this red, towel material which felt damp and when worst for wear. The bed bugs were shocking! I woke up with big rashes and ended up sleeping between 2 towels to try to protect myself. There is the constant sound of bugs in the ceiling which, even for me who doesn't mind bugs, was a little squeamish. The room had absolutely nothing in. It's a bed and that's it so no where to put your clothes. The walls are very thin so you can hear everything and everyone. My tap was broken and would only sit twisted to the far left. They run out of water often which means they aren't prepared. Power cuts are also a thing. They need an overhall. They need to deep clean these places and make them liveable. Also communicate with the locals about burning. I really wouldn't suggest staying here. I had to stay 7 nights as they refuse to refund people. I think this is because no one would stay if they did.
Very friendly and nice staff. They lent us flippers
Located up a very steep hill.
Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, helped us book our activities & ferry tickets for the time we stayed there. Rooms were cozy and private- we even got a free upgrade to a aircon room! Thanks for an enjoyable stay
We were upgraded to air conditioning rooms at checkin time, that was a really lovely surprise because Koh Phi Phi is definitely hot and humid, and you feel it more after hiking up the hill to get there, that's for sure! I loved the location though a little bit away from the noise of town. Its right off the trail to get to the view point and it's lovely and rustic! The staff were so lovely, we were really happy we decided to stay there!
Beds were extremely hard. The pictures of the rooms on the site show mosquito nets which was part of the reason we chose to stay there. There were no nets in our rooms so definitely bring bug spray and reapply before bed.
