Pros:The price was good. We have been coming up to that area for the past 6 months for my husband's treatment at the Mayo Clinic but staying at the Hampton Inn off Butler which is twice the price. The TV was fairly new and worked well.
Cons:At check in the owner/check-in person was surly, barely answered our questions about the nearest fast food restaurants. Our room was on the ground floor in an alleyway going to the pool with a view of a wall. When I pulled the stained bedspread back on the bed I found a large black hair on the sheets which had black dirt marks and were so thin you could see the mattress through them. In the bathroom there was a dirty washcloth hanging from the shower rod from the last guest and the bathroom floor was filthy. The room chair was torn and had stains all over it and the carpet was ancient and curling at the edges. Ok, so all that skeeved me out but I didn't know the worst was yet to come. Groups of what appeared to be men from work crews started arriving and were assigned 4 to a room in the rooms around us. Starting at around 10PM when we were about ready to go to sleep, the activity began. Loud banging from rooms above us, people having loud conversations outside our doorway. Then at midnight loud crying whimpering and arguing, you could hear running footsteps on the walkway above. At one point my husband got up to use the bathroom and the light in the bathroom went out when he was in there and then the door latch stuck and he was stuck in there and I had to literally yank/pull the door open from the outside to get him out. Finally fell asleep for an hour or so but was awakened by blood curdling screams, it sounded like someone was being murdered. After the person either died or calmed down, we fell back to sleep for an hour or so but were again awakened at 5 in the morning when all the activity began again with the work crews departing and making sure if they were up so was everyone else. They were joined by the room cleaning crew who were just as loud. We would have left right then at 5 in the morning but neither of us like to drive in the dark, so we waited until 7 when it was light enough and the fog had somewhat subsided to get the heck out of there. You get what you pay for.
