The staff was amazingly helpful, meeting our every need - recommending places to eat, ordering us takeout, when we couldn't do it ourselves (domino's in Istanbul is only in Turkish ;)), helped us around with maps, and... well: In a couple of words, the staff was brilliant. The hotel's indoor decór was amazing, and the photos don't do it justice - it's truly a marvelous sight. Magnificently manufactured also - details were well made, from great materials. Floor, bathroom walls, common spaces were all marble, made with extreme precision. The property has it's own, amazingly well-kept and good looking underground parking, and for people that visit Istanbul often - you know how AMAZING this is, in the center of the city (or wherever, actually). Secure, clean and all in all - perfect.
We took the junior suite with bathtub, which has an amazing configuration. We travel a lot, and we seek primarily properties with glass bathrooms. The bathroom though, sadly, had no ventilation what-so-ever, and taking a bath was steamy to say the least. Also night lamps and emergency lighting on floor was uncontrollable from wall panels - the next day service had to disable them altogether. The smoke detector, which was directly above the bed also blinked a green light constantly. It wasn't that bright, but in a completely dark room you could imagine it was a bit distracting :) I know, writing all of that seems like a whine, but I'm just trying to be thorough. The property IS amazing, location is blisteringly good, the parking is awesome... To put a clear statement here - I will probably never use another hotel in Istanbul from now on - This is my definitive winner of all time (and that comes from a man who visits Istanbul quite often :))
the Fer Hotel is a great place to stay in Istanbul, the hotel is close to the most important tourist venues in the city where you can walk. The hotel staff is beyond extremely gracious, efficient and solicitous!
Comfy bed, it is really a big win. Amazing breakfast. Helpful staff (asked about locations, needed an iron - they helped effortlessly). Complimentary coffee and tea upon check-in were a pleasant surprise. WiFi worked smoothly without hiccups. Bathroom was well equipped with stuff, water was hot and the stream was strong to fill the bathtub. In-room coffee maker was great to start a day.
Centrally located, modern design with comfortable accommodation. Strangely quiet - almost felt we were alone in the hotel
Bed was too soft.
the location is fantastic. only steps from the blue mosque and hagia sophia and also very close to the grand bazaar and the spice bazaar. at night, most of the shops close early and there's not a lot going on, but you can jump on the T1 and get to Taksim square in about 20 minutes.
There is some construction going on across the street which is unsightly. But the noise was not disruptive.
