Beautiful hotel right at the dunes.
The location was excellent and very close to the lake. The pool and outdoor lounge areas were comfortable and clean. The rooms were a good size. The breakfast was also very good but basic.
The check in time listed on booking.com was incorrect and we were only allowed to check in one hour later. Our first showers here were only cold water and extremely low pressure, we tried to communicate this to the staff however the night staff did not speak English, this problem was however rectified the next time we showered here. We also asked the lady at the front desk to call bus a taxi big enough for 4 people and large luggage which she agreed to do, however the taxi that arrived was far too small, with seats for only 3 passengers and our luggage had to be strapped to the roof.
The location of the hotel was great- right along the oasis with easy access to the dunes and restaurants. We also enjoyed spending the days at the pool in the sun and playing cards.
The staff at the hotel left a very poor impression. They simply made no effort to be friendly or even polite. They attended our needs – like when one of the showers was cold – but even then, we felt more like we were putting them off to ask for help. The breakfast was the same all three mornings: eggs, juice, and bread. Nothing great. WiFi didn’t work in the rooms. The rooms are not nearly as updated as the photos indicate. Nor were they particularly clean- spots under the beds and in corners hadn’t been reached in a while. The bedding was not very comfortable and touched the floor, which was dirty from the sand. The cost for the hotel is too much for the services they offered. And I should add that I’ve stayed in several places throughout Peru varying from four star hotels to low-cost hostels. It was the overall experience that prompts the poor review.
The location was very good, right at the end of the strip which allows it to be quiet enough to rest, but still within seconds of the action, on foot. The pool area seemed nice (with direct views of the big dunes), although we didn't have time to try it. By the time we booked, there was only a twin room with shared bathroom left, which was absolutely fine, and clean.
Nice pool area.
Very dirty floor and beds in room.
