I liked very little about this hotel and would not recommend it to anyone. I would advise anyone thinking of staying here to save their pennies and stay in the HM Palapas next door or Hotel Flamingo.
I can honestly say I liked very little about this hotel. Right from our arrival, I wanted to leave! The reception staff did not smile once (and looked glum during our entire stay!) and seemed reluctant to help. We were shown to a room which was round a dark corner by signs telling us to beware of dangerous electricals. Our room was dark and frankly depressing. The paint was peeling off the walls and the bathroom smelt of sewage. We were woken our first morning at 6.45am by the room below hauling metal trunks from their room onto the patio apparently for a model shoot. We then moved to a different room with a large double bed and a small double, for the three of us, but with only one bedside table and one bedside light to share! We were also expected to unpack for the three of us into three very small shelves. When I asked where I should put all our clothes, they said most people kept them in their suitcases!!! There wasn't a single ledge to put toiletries or suncreams etc and the shower I had to keep shampoos and gels on the floor. We were also woken every morning at 7am by screaming children and the room above. There is no soundproofing. The pool is far too small (overflowing with kids) and surrounded by jungle, so extremely dark and feels very penned in. This also made it a mosquito haven so anyone unfortunate enough to be sitting round the pool got eaten alive!! I noticed that most other hotels along the beach have the pools overlooking the beach with a lovely beach bar and view. The beach bar was a rather neglected affair set far back from the beach which was a shame as Edwin and Epifanea were the the only charming staff there and totally wasted in an empty bar. The patch of beach which the hotel claim as theirs is the only area along the whole stretch which does not offer shade. All other hotel have parasols or lovely thatched little cabana style roofs. This meant that no one lay on the beach as with only sun loungers, the heat was too intense.
Lots of plants and the staff is excellent. The rooms and bathrooms are spacious.
No WIFI the entire week at the hotel. Not acceptable and very disappointing. It was not fixed in a weeks time. The drinks were only so/so.
Great location, beautiful beach. Food in general is good. Good value for money
I liked everything in general
Food and the rooms. Location was spot on
The room was clean and the atmosphere was really nice. The buffet was fine and the welcome was great.
The AC was not working in our. We had to call many time before someone come and do something about it. Finally they moved us to another room. Unfortunately we did not have a balconi in the new room that we got... They did not offer any compensation for the inconvenience...
