There is a wonderful old world charm felt as soon as you enter the property. To add to the this, there are sheep, chooks and turkeys grazing on the grounds amongst grand old trees. We were warmly welcomed by Chris (who is an absolute gem of a person) and continued to receive world class hospitality. The decor is laced with European style elegance including beautiful antique ornaments. The bed was so comfy with lovely fresh linen. Well done to the team at Claremont House!!
Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the historical setting was super interesting and fun.
The stuffs were very friendly and nice! Nice environment with animals. Nice location! Clean and tidy
The bed we had was so incredibly comfortable, I didn't want to leave! Christine had the heater on in our room when we arrived which was lovely. We were greeted by the resident chickens and turkeys on arrival and each morning.
Breakfast was included in our stay however it wasn't really what we were expecting - fairly simple and not a whole lot of options (perculated coffee, thin toast, fruit, cereal etc. There was a cooked option of bacon, eggs and sausage but it had a very 'thrown together' home cooked feel to it so we opted for eating out or a piece of fruit. I think we were expecting more of a restaurant quality to the food. Its fantastic the owner has done a restoration to this house and given it a new purpose however we didn't find it was up to the standard seen in the photos, it could do with some more TLC.
