The room was comfortable, the futon beds were warm once the heat took over in the room. Yukata are provided and are beautiful. The shower/bath is very nice, with body wash, shampoo and conditioner provided. Toilets are modern Japanese versions with all the amenities. The ryokan is just around the corner from a streetcar stop, so travel is easy.
Not really things I didn't like, but things to expect that may surprise foreign travelers. Rooms are small, just larger than the futon beds. Heat and air conditioning must be turned off during the day, meaning returning to a cold room in February. The stairway up to the rooms is steep with shallow steps, so be very careful. Our hostess speaks little English, but will demonstrate necessary things for the room.
Welcoming & friendly host who showed us all the facilities available & possible historical sites to visit near the property. A tram line is very close by which connects to the JR line. The room was adequate in size for two people. Green tea & a kettle were provided, along with towels & bathrobes. Bedding was warm & comfy during our very cold winter stay. Aircon is provided in the room.
Need to climb steep stairs to access the rooms, which could be a challenge for some, especially those with heavy luggage.
Wonderful host, comfortable beds and room
Male toilet seat heater was not working no hair dryer price is a bit on the high end
Lovely host, easy walking distance to the highlights of Hiroshima, and a tram stop and bus stop both within minutes of the place. Warm and quiet. Host helped me haul suitcase upstairs and took a photo of me for memories when I was leaving. She has good enough English to communicate and gave me a map of the city and told me all the places I should go, and also which trains to take to get my next location. Lovely, lovely lady!
Very friendly welcome from the lady who ran the ryokan - even though she barely spoke any English. She had some maps and spoke a few words. Location is good - 10 mins walk to peace garden. Nearest tram stops only 100m away. Facilities were basic, but that's what we expected from such a ryokan.
