Some of the Staff was very friendly, also on the phone Room is basic but ok in terms of cleanness Wifi did not work
- reception only open from 8.00am-8.00pm , which is not a major issue but bit annoying - main complaint is the exceptional rudeness of the owner of the hotel, really outrageous. I feel sorry for the rest of the staff who was friendly, to have to work for such a bully of a boss. No language or social skills. No English and poor Germany makes communication very difficult. When you dont understand what he is saying, he starts to shout, etc. I never had such rude experience anywhere in the world. To a point I thought it was comical and took it with humor.
Location is amazing. Just a 3 minute walk to the train station and right in the heart of great food and drinks. Also an inexpensive convenience store just across the parking area for any forgotten/unplanned items you may need. Staff is very helpful and kind. Facilities were clean and nice and breakfast was pretty decent. Lee made our stay wonderful. It was exactly the Hamburg experience we were looking for.
Location was very good for the train station. was around a 10 to 15 minute walk into city centre.
The poor receptionist was sooo kind and apologetic in trying to defend his boss. It is a shame that such nice people have to work for such terrible owners. The same goes for the receptionist at check out, who wished us good bye in the sweetest possible way, and I ask her to accept my apology for not returning her wishes with equal enthusiasm, but I was very angry!!!
Yeah, ok, it said so on the fine print, but who bothers doubt and check in 2019 that a 150 euro-worth room in Hamburg hasn't got free WiFi, and charges 8 euro (!!!) per day!!! Add to that a 15 euro per room (very) plain breakfast, and 12 euro per room late check out (and by "late" I mean 12 instead of 10), I think one is much better off going to the official Youth Hostel and get a double (yes, a double) room for 80 euro per night, at a much better location, at a much better bed and mattress, and 24-hour reception with luggage storage (oh yes, I forgot, they also charge for luggage storage!).
Friendly staff, great location, room is what you would expect for that good price
Not the newest furniture and door.
