Pros: Very comfortable stay :)
Cons: Nothing to say!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was good. Good location. Great river views. Nice restaurant on malecon. Bartender very good and entertaining.
Cons: Even though rooms were clean, bathroom could use some bleaching of tiles. Too much mole like build up around edges.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay there! Staff (especially Ivan) very attentive and helpful. The rooms are big and bright - river view amazing. The hotel pool and spa are perfect. Restaurant has a great terrace with views, amazing food and staff. We had a very special anniversary with a special surprise. Location is perfect, it is safe to take a stroll along the Malecón and old part of the city.
Cons: Nothing!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel, good food, walkable location, very clean, friendly staff
Cons: Our room was under the gym and we were awoken at 5am to a person on the treadmill, it sounded like a strong subwoofer in our room. Knowing this was a problem, the hotel moved us to a different room to let us sleep (after 3 phone calls and a visit to the front desk finally demanding a move). They gave us free breakfast for our trouble, around $25. It's a know problem for them, but they take the risk knowing the odds of someone using the treadmill in the 24 hr gym is low.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast very good , location is outstanding .
Cons: Air condittioner too cold on restaurant .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: New, very friendly staff. Nicer than Oro Verde. I will stay here the next time I'm in Guayaquil.
Oro Verde Guayaquil - Guayaquil - Building
3
9.3 Excellent (4,773 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Oro Verde Guayaquil, you'll be centrally located in Guayaquil, a 3-minute drive from Malecon 2000 and 8 minutes from Banco Pichincha Monumental Stadium. Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and limo/town car service. A roundtrip airport shuttle is complimentary (available 24 hours).
7.9 Good
Pros: Close to airport
5.4 Okay
Pros: The mini chocolates they give each day.
Cons: I did not like the breakfast, there were not many options and the options that were available were of poor quality. The staff, for instance the doorman, were not as attentive or amable as the one from Galeria or Ramada. The doorman in La Galeria would always greet people and make sure they are safe when getting into a taxi and even walking around the hotel. The airport shuttle, which is included in the 1,210.18 dollars that I paid for this hotel, was unable to take my mother and I to the airport just because we were half an hour late. The bellman told us we would have to take a taxi, meanwhile the airpot shuttle was right there in front of my eyes. When a situation similar to this occurred in La Galeria Man-Ging, the hotel paid for the taxi, Oro Verde, however, did not. I am very dissatisfied with my experience in this hotel.
6.7 Good
Pros: Nothing is impressive
Cons: It’s not a 5 starts hotel
7.1 Good
Pros: the Rooms and spa
Cons: The staff in the front desk they look at you like you going to steal something it was a group of 4 rooms we book spend like 3,000 . I like the hilton colon
7.5 Good
Pros: Good breakfast
5.0 Okay
Pros: The Breakfast was good.
Cons: The reviews I read were good so I booked King Delux room. We got a room on the 7 floor, already in the hallway there was an unpleasant and strong smell of moisture and mold, we asked to replace the room, they sent us to another side on the same floor where the smell was less felt, even in the bedding in the room was the same smell. I Lucky that I didn’t book room for the last day of the trip, as I will definitely not return to this hotel. There is no justification for the high price of the room.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Really liked the authentic Ecuadorian feel of the place all the staff were dressed in traditional clothing. The place had a lot of olde world charm. The staff were very good at attending to all our needs. The rooms were very spacious and most had a separate living space.
Cons: the mattresses were rather hard.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nothing special
Cons: Room is too small
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good and staff was friendly. Bed was very firm and room smelled like smoke. Shuttle service from airport was very good.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing, couldn’t fault a thing
Cons: Nothing all was good, going to stay there again
6.7 Good
Pros: It was nice to have separate rooms. The location in town was good: close to the airport and Mall del Sol. The staff was attentive and communicative. Nicely decorated.
Cons: We didn't expect that on our floor we would be sharing the apartment with another room, which included a shared bathroom. The a/c in the main room didn't work, so we were stuck in our rooms to avoid the heat. There was no sign on the property to indicate it's location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Appartment is located near the airport (5 minutes) but it is not a tradicional airport area. It is a safe neighborhood that has a mall (Mall del Sil), a park and some restaurants nearby. The apartment itself was confortable.. the bed was big and the room was wide. Ronny, the host, is friendly but he is not there the entire time. You can reach him by WhatsApp though. Internet was fast (in Latinamaerican terms) and there was a Art Tv in the Room. You can get Uber to drive you from there to all the tourist places for under $5.
Cons: Just an observation, the place is located at a residential neighborhood therefore it does not have a sign. You better inform the host of you arrival time so that they can be there waiting for you
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The place was hard to find and there was not really any parking. We did not have a problem but the area seemed like you should not walk alone at night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean bathroom, big tv, air conditioning
Cons: Nothing, we had a great stay
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: this is the most unfriendly place in all of Ecuador. we stayed here on arrival and had booked a 2nd night at the end of our tour and before leaving for Galapagos (2 weeks later) For both nights we had a nice deal via booking.com. The first night went smoothly, but on arrival in the evening for the 2nd night we were told that they canceled our booking. Reason was that they had sent an email the day before that we had to pay a deposit at a local bank. We did not receive this mail (no Wi-Fi) and even if we had received it we could not have paid so quickly at a local bank. The room was still free but they refused to let us rent it for the booked price but asked double instead. During the discussion they let us know that the initial rate was also much too low (genius discount) and they therefore decided to cancel the reservation.Scandalous!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Big bed and the place was very close to the big shopping mall. They were able to do our basket of washing within a few hours for $5.
Cons: Air con wasn’t able to cool the room sufficiently

7.6 Good
Pros: Good service and very clean.
Cons: Kitchen is open until 10:30pm so if you flight arrives there after that then you will starve until the next day. The shuttle service starts at 6:15 am which means if you have a flight earlier than that then you must take a taxi in which can not be charged to the room since they dont do that. So make sure you have cash at hand cab ride toairport is approx $6.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a nice hotel, in a great location, with all the facilities, very polite service, and we got the opportunity to have lunch at the restaurant, the food was great!!, and on weekend they have 50% off, so the price for the great food was great too!

Cons: food was too expensive

Cons: Service in the restaurant Service on the seventh floor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was excellent and went above and beyond to help us in every way they could!!
5.0 Okay
Cons: The sound isolation is very bad, it seems like you sleep in the middle of a busy road. The interior design of the room is not what you are expecting from a 5 star hotel.besides that, there was a gap between a plint and the wall in the step-in shower, so when taking a shower, water was flowing in the room.I complained however nothing was done
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant with good food. Proximity to Airport with free shuttle. Nice staff.
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Terrible customer service. Had a problem with my stay and was initially given the details for the wrong hotel when I contacted holiday inn so I couldn't contact this branch of the hotel until late. The hotel made me an offer to solve the problem very late at night then retracted the offer the next day. Was passed on to management who didn't reply to my email. Don't stay here if you expect to stay with a hotel that has staff who actually care about their customers.

7.7 Good
Cons: This hotel staff has the strange idea that calling your room multiple times to ask if you need anything is a good idea. It is not! Twice they woke me. I asked that they stop calling the room but they did not stop. I had to unplug the phone.
6.7 Good
Cons: The bathroom was not draining

Pros: Good breakfast, airport shuttle and nice steam bath and sauna.
Cons: Air condition was old fashioned and noisy. Pool closes at 8 pm.
6.0 Good
Pros: Staff was really friendly, the hotel was really close to many touristic places.
Cons: The room 210 is next to the terrace, quite noisy. Its impossible to sleep with the AC on cuz is extremely loud. In the bar the cocktails were virgin I guess, cuz no alcohol in it, and there are not cheap. We are in Ecuador, a land of fruits but the buffet is very poor in it. The fact that our room was next to the resting area makes impossible to open the curtains at any time cuz people can see through. No privacy at all. AC in all areas have a humid fungi smell our room did.

Cons: Eggshell in scrambled eggs for breakfast.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Close to the Mall del Sol, safe area around. The breakfast it was ok and good attitude of the personnel.
Cons: The room was placed close to the cooling units so almost all the time it was noisy. Also, the windows are useless since the view it is the next building, without natural light at all. For long term for sure I do not recommend that room. Average cleaning services.
6.7 Good
Pros: It’s well located for a stopover stay if you just need somewhere to sleep until your flight
Cons: It’s old and looking tired. Carpet in the room has tears and other damage. Things look old and broken. But it was clean and the beds were comfortable. The staff were helpful and cheerful.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very attentive and welcoming when we arrived early morning to the hostel, it is located very close to the airport and just a short bus ride away. we left our laggage at the reception with no additional cost. The staff was very helpful in giving local tips, helping with printing necessary papers. There is a laundry place at the begining of the block (3$ a basket). The place is very nice and clean, our room was cosy, the bed was very comfortable, two pillows each and white spotless sheets, two fans (ceiling and wall-mounted), many electric sockets and even 2 usb sockets. It was not hot over night. Towels and soap were provided. The window had a mosquito net. The shared shower was good, great pressure and hot water. Nice breakfast was available for additional 2$ per person. Overall great value for money. In summary we enjoyed our stay very much and recommend it to anyone looking for a good place to stay close to the airport!
Cons: Wifi is working good only at the reception, at other parts it is sometimes very slow (did not work in our room).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff and clean room, comfortable bed, good kitchen and lots of good food options nearby
Cons: . Low rating on value as we have to pay $1 a day for baggage storage - never come across this before in 10 months of travelling and I feel it should be a free service to paying customers.
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff were awesome, super friendly and helpful. Good wifi, $5 taxi from the airport and bus station. Bed was super comfy.
Cons: My dorm was right beside reception, its super loud and we were all woken up at 6am to the cleaning lady chatting really loudly with someone outside. The fan didn't work in the room, just made a tonne of noise. the little paddling pool was pretty gross when I first arrived but they did clean it while I was there.
7.9 Good
Pros: $5 taxi from bus terminal although I reckon i could of got it cheaper if I had the energy. WiFi is good. Staff member greeting us was really nice. Breakfast was good. Toast juice eggs coffee. $1.50 cold beers available in reception.
Cons: No lockers in dorm room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: All of the staffs! Really nice and helpful staffs and all speaks good English. Jonathan was really helpful to help looking up the flights to Galapagos for me and let me borrow the computer to finish the booking and he and Samuel and other staffs were always watching out for the news for us if the bus running during the protests. TV room with Netflix A small but enough kitchen Hot shower Clean and comfort bed Safe location in the North, not too far ride from the Airport and bus terminal. Close to the big City Mall
Cons: The budget dorm room was really hot. And not enough plugs. But good wifi here. The girl's dorm is better, though close to the tv space and kitchen, so can hear the sounds clearly, but since no one was loud after 11pm or early, it was fine. One of the girl's dorm's window, the net was a bit broken, so didn't feel like to open the window, if they can fix it, it would be great. The first time I stayed there, there was a bit of smell in the dorm, the second time, much better, but the smell of Camphor in the bathroom is really strong, can try to put something smell nicer. WiFi in the girl's dorm too Most people who stay here are couples and families or long stay, No social atmosphere

8.3 Excellent

Pros: Very secure environment and is clean , the cleaning lady Christina was always helping to keep a spotless room . The front night manager has excellent people skills, Bolivar went out of the way with helping me on my late check out. Kuddos to those 2 persons
Cons: For a hilton hotel chain , I took the chance too work from my room . My job represents considerable amounts of money while i’m connected to the internet. Due to the horrible internet connection I had to cancel webinars and important online meetings. Not suitable for business environments sorry but that was a plus for me .

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was perfect for us! It was very clean, we had hot water, the staff was very helpful, many spoke English, and the location was great! The courtyard and pool were cute and a nice place to relax.
Cons: If I have to say something, the only complaint I would have was that the temperature in the shower was inconsistent. It kept changing from hot to cold to hot again.
7.1 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed. Jacuzzi pook
Cons: Shower water pressure terrible..extremely hot then extremely cold.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, nice and attentive, and great facilities!
7.5 Good
Pros: The bed was good. The lobby area welcoming.
Cons: They offered WiFi in rooms but it never worked even though I was told they had rebooted twice and “everything should be fine now”. I grew tired of insisting. Two other aspects that disappointed: the temperature in the shower was very difficult to regulate— neither one of us managed to get the temperature stable. Finally, the bulk of breakfast was fried food. Zero vegan options other than carbs (fruit and bread).

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a great stay at the Hotel Palace Guayaquil, I actually stayed there on two separate occasions during my trip to Ecuador. For my first stay I requested a quiet room on the top floor, and got just that - a really huge room with lots of amenities. The sound proofing of the window was just excellent, I couldn't hear a peep from the traffic noise of central Guayaquil outside. The complimentary cocktail upon arrival was most welcome, and the onsite restaurant cooked up some lovely food and an ubiquitous breakfast each morning. Reception staff were highly professional, and really accommodating on my second stay with them when they changed my room due to noisy neighbours. Thank you for a great and very comfortable stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great service for a great price. Amazing bed and pillows menu.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The coffee was exceptionally good.
Cons: The restaurant is pricey.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff is very professional. Location is excellent, though there are no views to the river. I would highly recommend it as a stop-over or to stay for businesses, but the rooms are rather stark so I wouldn’t suggest it as a romantic place. Just a good, clean, well-run hotel without a lot of character.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Provided transportation during the Transportation Strike!
Cons: It’s perfect in every way; location, price, breakfast, clean and awesome staff!

5.0 Okay
Pros: The waiting line at breakfast...
Cons: The day we arrived they decided to close all swimming hot tub and gym facilities being that was a holiday it seem dumb and should have informed us and we would have not wasted on an overpriced hotel... Also we were given a room in the back of that old shopping center that is old and out of style. Will not return to this way too pricey for a mediocre room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great friendly staff, who took care of a nice breakfast box, when we had to leave very early in the morning. Nice clean rooms, with lovely shower and great beds.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, quiet rooms, good breakfast, fast internet. no carpet in the rooms, comfortable beds
Cons: There is nothing i didn't like.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was absolutely wonderful on our first stay. On our return stay we had to leave for the airport too early to enjoy it again. The Hotel organised breakfast boxes for us and they were delicious and were waiting for us on our check-out. The staff were super helpful and organised a complimentary transfer to the airport for our flight home. We were fortunate to be provided with a free upgrade and again enjoyed magnificent views over the park and cathedral. Great WIFI, great shower and deliciously comfortable bed and linen.
Cons: No tea or coffee making facilities. Having to leave early before breakfast!!!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: breakfast and location
Cons: limited options in menu of restaurant for kids

Pros: Absolutely awesome location. The staff actually did speak English and was helpful. Breakfast was included otherwise it’s $18 including tax. Very nice quality in the middle of Guayaquil. Great value for that. Gladly stored my bags until I picked them up later. Two blocks to Malecon right across the street from the Cathedral and iguana park.

Pros: pros:felt very safe, staff was very pleasant, restaurant food was good, good plumbing (rare in Ecuador), great location, excellent wifi signal, tv
Cons: Cons: beds were super hard, I actually was sore after my stay, dated rooms with musty smell, closets smelled bad, feet were black if walked barefoot in room. Was charged $40 more a day for one person ( expensive)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were particularly helpful and kind. My daughter had left her travel neck support in the room at check-out, the cleaning crew informed the doorman and he promptly went up to get it for her.
Cons: Shower pressure could have been better.

Pros: Amazing staff and a great location on the Malecon 2000
Cons: Breakfast is poor for a buffet, and while the rooms are renovated, the building itself is worn out. Hot water is the shower was also very unreliable. I had my room at a bargain, but I can't imagine anyone willing to pay full price for this.
