Historic building also in part a museum. A part of the history of George Town. If you want something different right in the middle of town this is great. It’s clean and chic and just has a nice feel to the place. Staff all really friendly. Bed very comfy. Street market venue adjacent goes with music til midnight could put some off, alternative stay out until midnight! Fans of Oscar film Indochine and Rich Crazy Asians can come and stay where it was filmed.
Noise in food hall next door could put some off as the singing is awful. But they pull the plug at midnight. Earplugs provided if you really need to sleep early.
Great historical landmark that has been very well maintained and is a treat to visit and stay at. A decent location within a short walk of Chinatown and Little India. The staff are tremendously helpful and super friendly - the highlight of my stay here. Air conditioning works very well and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. The included breakfast is great.
The hotel is over priced for Penang. The WiFi is horrible - web pages take a long time to load, and watching YouTube videos is just not possible - they really need to upgrade the WiFi or their internet connection.
All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The building is amazing as a piece of architecture and also to stay in.
Nothing - it was all good
The hotel is spectacular. You will feel like living in the last century but with modern conforta. Everything is well curated. Staff friendly.
Breakfast is typically Asian. Several savory options. To match all the tastes it could offer more options like cakes or croissant.
It’s was beautiful, historic, and memorable! This is a place where famous movies were filmed. Service was outstanding. This is the hotel stay you will never forget!
It’s located next to a loud street market, so they gave out earplugs for guests. Also, the hotel was not helpful in booking real tours (only cars with drivers to take you around).
