Pros: Excellent location, close to the town centre but nice and quiet. The rooms were a good size, beautifully appointed and well-equipped, beside a pretty courtyard garden with plenty of space and loungers around the small pool. Tim gave excellent advice on vineyards to visit, routes to take, restaurants to book etc. Nadine served excellent breakfasts. Together they made our visit to Franschoek extremely enjoyable.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property, great art . Superb location. Tranquil setting.
Cons: Breakfast not as you would expect from such an establishment. Limited and slow service. Service staff on patio bar area require much more training with regards to customer experience management and expectation managementSelection of foods on offer, certainly not on par with other " 6 stars", i have stayed at before. In addition, food prices are way over the top for what is on offer!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Property was very homely and luxurious
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was absolutely sublime, as art lovers and collectors, it was a treat staying at a place where that was one of the focal point, the art collection and the sculptures in the pristine, immaculate garden were amazing. I’m a great fan of mullineux wines and loved the complimentary tasting that was offered with our stay. The spa was clean, quaint and exactly what we needed to relax and just simply unplug. We were hosted in the underground cellar for our anniversary dinner and the food was out of this world. Great property, friendly staff beautiful views. Simply perfect. We will be back. Mr & Mrs Akinola
Cons: Very little. The only thing we would have like was if the staff was attentive and proactive with creating something special for our anniversary. We had to mention a couple times before something was done which felt a little off beat from great customer service we were having. It felt like they were trying to save on giving something complimentary, which felt a little disappointing given that the place is not cheap at all but we still added an extra night - guests always feel like getting something in return to appreciate them especially on a special occasion. One more disappointment was that we told the hotel that we will be arriving on a late flight and knew that we would have no food options by the time we got there and asked that they have something to eat for us. We were promised a charcuterie board that we would find in our room but to our disappointment we only got a peach, apple and some grapes.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property has everything that you need for a perfect stay in the Franschhoek Valley. The room was lovely and large and the bathroom with its twin showers was huge. Nothing has been missed, even down to multi country travel adaptors already provided, insect repellent cream, that we only need when went on safari. Even the hire car windows were cleaned in a morning. The breakfasts are amazing, thanks to Shirley’s (the owner) skills as a professional chef. The location is ideal as it sits in the middle of a lot of the valley’s vineyards making access to them very easy. Franschhoek centre is only 5 minutes drive away, putting you just far enough out of the centre to be quiet at night and feel secure. Plus out room had its own pool, only shared with the connecting room next door. Shirley is very helpful with local knowledge to help you get the best out of your holiday. All the staff including Victor and Kathy were also very helpful and pleasant. Nothing was too much trouble. We can’t wait to go back

It’s very well run and you will get good advice on places to visit - if you can drag yourself away from this gorgeous property. I’d highly suggest at least a couple of nights here as there is plenty to explore and it is so relaxing.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: A piece of paradise, tucked away off the main street in Franschhoek. Beautifully kept secluded gardens are a perfect retreat from the bustle of the streets. Staff were most professional, and our room was simply perfect, we couldn't want for a thing. We had dinner in La Petite Colombe, which is on the hotel premises. We consider La Colombe to be one of the best restaurants in Africa, and it's 'newer' sibling did not disappoint. Altogether, an excellent experience, marred only by breakfast, see below.
Cons: Breakfast was not pleasant. Admittedly, we anticipated an excellent experience in the Protege Restaurant, but we were very disappointed. The buffet was standard fare, nothing special. The cooked breakfast was very oily, overcooked, and not hot by the time it arrived at the table. We imagined that lunch and dinner would be excellent, but management should keep away from breakfasts and let the hotel take care of that meal.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: I just loved how gorgeous our room was, the artworks around the property is just awesome. The food at Protégé restaurant was just Devine... We didn’t get to experience La Petit Colombe but La Colombe is one of my favoutites so I guess it goes without saying, simply sublime. The service was also impeccable, I give them 10/10, worth another visit soon.
9.6 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really warm and friendly welcome by Cynthia, the lodge has so many pieces of original artwork and a gallery is attached. The rooms are nice and comfortable. The grounds hold so many little hidden places to explore. The restaurant at the vineyard serves food that should have a Michelin star. We also did the picnic lunch. Which we would recommend.
Cons: For us the wine tasting at the vineyard took a little too long as we wanted to enjoy the house but it was not rushed and the staff were friendly.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel is very small and quiet, but very boutique if I may say so:) This place is for those who love to be in harmony with nature, far from crowd. The view is absolutely stunning! Our room was absolutely beautiful and comfortable. The dinner in a restaurant was also very good. The breakfast was tasty and cosy. We met the owner of the Hotel. Very friendly gentleman, giving you the feeling you come to a friend's house. Thank you very much for a nice experience!
Cons: Nothing. Just come and enjoy. You won't be disappointed.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: This guest house is not far off the Huguenot Road, yet it offers easy car parking. It has a charming atmosphere, with a good swimming pool set in beautiful gardens and very comfortable rooms. Breakfast is offered in the old house, which is also atmospheric, but slightly limited in the choices offered; that is understandable, given that it is a small establishment with not many rooms.
Cons: It is not staffed all the time, so it is essential to let them know when you are first arriving – but after that one has keys to let oneself in and out. It has been refurbished and there were still some teething problems when we were there, but these have probably been resolved by now.

Pros: Amazing staff and views - free upgrade as we were getting engaged, complimentary minibar which is unusual, a fantastic event by and dinner for our engagement!
Cons: Mix-up at check-out and lower pool was a bit chilly (not heated). Mattress was not that great and bed was high up and a bit ridiculous (even though it looked good).
