We were blown away, from the minute we were welcomed on arrival, until the minute we drove off on check-out. It's a very funky hotel with Echo and all it's amazing features, had all the facilities we needed including a lovely pool, jaccuzi, sauna and lovely breakfast. The staff was very helpful and nothing was too much to ask. No plastic is used and the pool is solar heated so doing great for our environment. It's very well situated and in a quiet street. The family room is nicely positioned in the back although lacks a little privacy as it faces the pool but on the positive, it's just a step out onto the pool deck and breakfast area. We will most definitely recommend it and stay again - LOVED our stay
There wasn't really anything we didn't like except load shedding - thought everything would have continued as normal since it's such a "green, solar friendly" hotel but other than restricting us with no coffee and toast, we had other options like tea and sliced bread
Spotlessly clean and bright, lots of white spaces and interesting lighting - an eco residence concerned w sustainability. Very friendly, helpful staff - thanks Gerald and co. It is excellent value for Franschhoek and, for once, as a single traveler I was able to make use of the single room rate. There’s even a small cinema screen on site.
The only slight problem I had was with the voice-activated system as, at times, it didn’t work/ respond. It took a bit of getting used to, but if I can manage, anyone can. It’s a bit of a walk from village centre, but needed it!
Very modern rooms which were very spacious and everything works by voice control (hit a miss). It did make us coffee, swithed the lights on and operated the blinds. The breakfast was nice although the service is a bit slow. The location is good about a 10 minute walk into town. There is some great wineries in Franschhoek and we did a couple of the trams (orange & green tours). There are great restaurants in particular La Petite Colombe, we had their Valentines meal which was excellent it pricey but well worth the experience.
After a long drive from Oudtshoorn we got to the Lab & the temp was 40c unfortunately 1room wasnt ready it was 5pm. we were told that the room needed the linen changing. I had booked 2 superior rooms and we were shown the room that was ready. At the time we asked if the other room was the same and the manager confirmed that it was. We asked if we could check it & as we did another guest walked out of the shower! This room was also not a superior room, when we queried it he said that that was not the right room. Apparently another guest had asked to swap rooms to be near their friends so our booking had been moved. At this stage we were thirsty, hot and frustrated because the manager didnt seem to know what was going on and he wasnt being honest. As he could we were upset he gave us a complimentary bottle of wine. He then showed my sister-in-law another room which was quite obviously an ecconomy room it was small and not as nice as the superior room. We asked again about the superior room and showed him my booking where it stated 2 x superior rooms. He then told us we would have to go through booking.com to sort this out! Quite clearly we were annoyed with his dealing of the situation. We went on line to check which rooms were superior and it stated that they were Room 2 & 4. We were sat waiting and noticed 2 guests being shown to room 4 so my husband then politely knocked and asked them had they booked a superior room and when they had booked it because our booking was made 6 months ago. The people stated that they only booked a normal room 2 days ago and that the manager had upgraded them to a superior room. We spoke again to the manager when he confessed that he had and after some discussions and time he moved the other guests back to their original room and us to the superior room. However the next day a more competent Manager apologised greatly for our inconvinience and the rest of our stay was really nice.
The place was great. Nice atmosphere, the staff was super friendly and helpful, even helped us out when i had booked the room only for one by accident. Very nice breakfast, good sized pool and hot tub. We didn’t have time to use the spa unfortunately. Loved the high tech but also the fact that it was an eco hotel, no single use plastic bottles, used solar panels etc. The area is nice and felt safe, wine tram was a must. I would highly recommend and would love to go back.
Everything was great
Loved the location and the spacious room which lead onto the pool.
