Pros (+) The Orto de Medici is a good hotel to use as a base for touring Florence: the staff are friendly and helpful, the breakfast fine, it is a pleasant walk from the heart of Florence along interesting streets and it may even be historic, if their claims about being the place where Michelangelo learned some of his early lessons!
Cons (-) The standard rooms are fine but a bit small and most have views only as far as another wall.
