Overview

In the historic centre of Florence, the De La Pace, Sure Hotel Collection by Best Western is an elegant hotel set in a restored late-1800s building, with comfortable rooms, free Wi-Fi, a breakfast made from fresh local ingredients, and a relaxed bar. Michelangelo's David in the Accademia stands about five minutes away on foot, the great cathedral and its dome only a few minutes further, and the squares and workshops of the old city fill the streets between. Trains reach the wider region with ease. Florence is the cradle of the Renaissance, a city of red-tiled roofs, art and craft along the River Arno. Brunelleschi's terracotta dome crowns the skyline above marble churches and frescoed chapels, the Uffizi and the Ponte Vecchio draw crowds to the riverbanks, and cypress-clad hills rise just beyond the centre for long views over the city. Wine bars and leather workshops line the lanes all around.

Pros (+) Location, location, location! Located a 10 min direct walk from the Duomo and even less from Michalgelo’s David. Also easy to navigate/ a safe walk from the train station. The rooms were clean (with your own private bathroom) and staff were friendly. There was also a small elevator in the hotel. Breakfast was comparable to other American hotel free breakfasts.
Cons (-) Pillows were uncomfortable.
