Decent Room Great Location
For the price and location I thought it was a good deal. The rooms were reasonably appointed. The bathrooms were updated and the wall A/C unit kept the room cool. It is convenient to the train station, the mercato, and the Duomo. The desk was friendly and they watched our luggage after checkout (we were taking a later train so we had time to burn). For those of you who are going to Italy for the first time, often times multiple hotels are in the same building and run by the same desk. Their 2-star was on floors 2-3 and the Astrid on the top floor.
The bed could be a little more comfortable and the door to the balcony was difficult to get to close (if it wasn't it would bang when blown by the wind).
The Design of the hotel mada in 1900 style. And the huge rooms.
The breakfast had too may sweets and too little salted food. Being and old building the phonic isolation was bad and you could hear everything (especially when the other people were talking or leaving early in the morning).
its great location and the good advice at the front desk
the poor insonorisation of the room and the fact that some language classes were given upper floor right over our room.
The situation of the hotel (was perfect) and the price. The bedroom was pretty big and we got a room with a balcony. To be recommended for small budgets that still want to be in a good location.
Many of the furniture were very old and not in good shape. The bathroom had some broken tiles and a broken shelf. It's not awful but it does not look nice - anyways, you don't go to Florence to stay in the hotel, right?
the hotel had the charm of what you imagine an italian hotel room to be. We were placed in the family room even though they was only 2 of us and this was large and airy and would easily accommodate 4 people. The staff were very helpful. it even had the old fashion elevators.
We liked the location and breakfast
The room decor and bed
Staff were friendly and the location was close to the main railway station
I booked a room with ensuite for 3 nights only to be told I had to move to another room for the second night (as the room I was in was needed for 3 guests). The second room had a private bathroom accessible via a short walk down the main hallway. The bathroom wasn't kept as clean and the light did not work. On the 3rd night I was able to move back to the first room with an ensuite. I found it very disruptive and was annoyed that I had to make way to accommodate other guests.
*the hotel is near the main train station * the room was very spacious
* the breakfast is poor
It was so nice and clean and spacious.
no
staff was very hospitable, across the street from the train station.
Seems more like a 2 star hotel
atmosfeer, close too the city center
