We asked the owner of the hotel, the only person who spoke english, to wash some of our clothes. When we picked them up the next day, they were not ironed and 2 of the pieces were ruined: 1 white shirt with a yellow stain and a blue t-shirt with white stains because they had used bleach!!! It took 3hours trying to solve the problem because it was a sunday, the owner was away and there was no one left in charge who could speak english or french! We had to use google translator in arabic and there were 2 kids trying to intermediate the conversation! We had to call the owner and his son, because none of them would return to the hotel! We said we wanted our money back or that they should pay for the cost of each shirt (they were new) and they tried to negociate with us! Only after 3h did they give us some money back! Bad experience in this hotel :/
The hotel is very nice with a beautiful interior.
The hotel is a bit expensive for being Morocco and the restaurant very expensive (as an expensive Italian restaurant) for being in Morocco.
The property is totally overpriced! Our rooms was so small we could hardly fit our bags in. The bed had a very hard madras .The pool area was not pleasant, the host pretended he did not speak English when we asked if we could change rooms, he was not polite at all, not even a good morning when he showed up breakfast: they asked when we wanted breakfast And then they had us waiting for 45 minutes for the meal which came in totally wrong order, the young girls who served did not even speak French You need a car since it’s at least 10 minutes drive to the Médina, so don’t choose this Riad! we are now in a two star Riad in Chefchaouen, much cheaper and so much better!
This riad allows one to experience real Moroccan culture - architecture, design and cuisine. The staff go out of their wat to make things pleasant. We will be recommending to our friends (already have)
The location is a little difficult to find if on foot. Taxis know where it is no problem
The property is beautiful; beyond beautiful. The host was incredibly gracious and helped up arrange a guide for the medina for the next day. We had dinner at the riad.. and one thing to note... it was good but very expensive. We have been in Morocco for three weeks, and it was the most expensive meal that we had, and that was without alcohol. Dinner was 87 euros, and they don't take credit cards for dinner. (more than the cost of the room) This was the set price menu with tea and water. Again, the food was good, but make sure you have ample amounts of cash and understand the cost. It was not really in our budget for a long trip, and it was our fault for not clarifying first. Otherwise the stay was lovely.
With a stay at Riad Dar Ziryab, you'll be centrally located in Fes, within a 10-minute drive of Medersa Bou-Inania and Tombs of the Merenides. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
