Everything was fantastic.
The room was a bit dark.
Very friendly staff. Good food. Would prefer a radio to TV in our room. Slightly put off by school party, but staff coped excellently. A sitting room with papers, or a few papers in the bar might make somewhere to congregate. More could be made of the history, good and bad. Loved the wardrobe enterance to our bathroom, very querky. A Pleasant stay.
Absolutely loved every minute of our stay for my husbands 50th. It was full history, luxurious, lovely atmosphere, staff and service was 2nd to none. Would highly recommend!!!!
I stay here every time I visit the North East, fantastic location and ambiance the staff are wonderful and it’s a real treat to stay her. The food is top notch and always hot plus a golf course right next door.
Would be nice to have a tour, plus I always liked to see the bar staff in traditional clothing but this has now stopped.
The setting was pleasant as we were able to walk along the river and in woodland. It was lovely to sit and have a drink in the courtyard.
Decor is tired and grubby throughout the hotel (however I believe the restaurant is going to be decorated soon). The courtyard bedrooms are very dark due small windows. Staff could have been more professional and attentive, we really didn't need to know that our waitress was tired and menopausal at breakfast. A toilet brush in the en suite would have been appreciated.
