Pullman Dakar Teranga - Dakar - Building

Fully renovated, rooms along with the Junction by Pullman, seminar rooms, restaurant with its terrace and panoramic view, the hotel offers 247 spacious and modern rooms and suites, which offer maximum comfort. 7.1 Good
Pros: Staff, food, view, convenience
Cons: Not as nice as expected. Overpriced in my opinion.
4.2 Okay
Pros: The WiFi was good. I also liked the club (with the pool and club house) across the road from the hotel.
Cons: The lobby was too rowdy, the check in experience was very poor as I was ignored for long periods of time. I was put in a room that smelled badly of cigarettes and I’ve never smoked. Room service hardly had anything on the menu and (surprise surprise) even club sandwiches were unavailable!!! For almost $375 per night, I deserved a lot more than the poky little room and extremely poor service I got.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Centrally located with easy access for taxi and business district.
Cons: Slow check in and checkout
8.3 Excellent
Pros: I very much like the view in terrace which I made some of my business meetings at there. Rooms was comfortable enough.
Cons: There is not that much option to do in the night time at or around the hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: We were told the taxi ride to the airport was only 1 hour. Dakar had an event that evening celebrating the opening of the Main Train Station. Because of this some of the roads around the hotel were closed. It took over 2 hours to get to the airport. The Brussels Airline checkin counter had closed by the time we arrived. The only reason we caught the flight was we were flying business class and only had carry-on luggage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location and truly the best resort in Dakar. Near the Markets, ferry to Gorée island and statues etc...food good lots to do.
Cons: N/a
6.7 Good
Pros: Location perfect
Cons: The bath towel so old need to be changed to new
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The service, location, food choices, facilities were great. The hotel view is amazing. Really sets the tone for the city and the accompanying visit. Its a great hotel to meet other people who are passing through on business, conferences, or relaxation.
7.1 Good
Pros: Food was nice and so was the ambiance.
Cons: Not sure I like the City view room I got for the price I got it

7.9 Good
Pros: Clean and spacious hotel with very good food in the restaurant.
Cons: Required taxi transport to get around and the shuttle was only a sedan, where an SUV could have been more comfortable given all the luggage we had.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, service, staff, bed
Cons: Nothing
7.9 Good
Pros: Very good hotel on the corniche with a private beach, excellent breakfast with a large choice of food and very friendly and helpful staff, highly recommended for a business stay and probably for a short holiday
7.1 Good
Pros: The location and food were great. The bed was super comfy and the room quiet and calm.
Cons: The hotel is a little run down and characterless. I wouldn't have noticed if the staff were more engaged. They were polite but, with one exception, not that interested in talking with guests or motivated to take care of them. After meeting so many lovely people in the other places we stayed around the Dakar region, we missed that warm and friendly Senegalese way in this hotel.
7.1 Good
Pros: Clean room
Cons: Gym is very bad and no treadmill
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The place and the staff availability Food is very nice
Cons: Thé shuttle was not available at arrival and departure
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is centrally located in the town of Dakar. The bed is comfortable, and I also enjoyed the breakfast as well
Cons: Had a little delay at check-in due to non-confirmation of the payment to the hotel by booking.com. The Gym in the hotel is terribly small and poorly equipped
9.6 Excellent
Pros: All - nice, convenient and friendly
Cons: Nothing
6.3 Good
Pros: The good... The manger did apologise for the mess with my room upon arrival, and paid for my taxi drive to my meeting. The hotel did also give me fruit plate and an apology letter The hotel is beautiful and the rooms are nice and spacious and clean The food is really nice To be honest though, the majority of 5 star hotels are beautiful with nice rooms and nice food...these are the minimum basics. The service and the extras is what should set these hotels apart when charging premium rates, and this is where Terrou-Bi falls short despite a few gestures.
Cons: I had an indifferent stay at the Terrou-Bi hotel Dakar. The bad.... After pre booking and pre-arranged late check-in notification, I arrive in Dakar at 11pm only to be told that I do not have a room anymore. Arrangements had been made for me to stay in another hotel for 1 night, and would then be transferred to the Terrou-Bi the next day. The most basic thing I want as a guest is reliability in making a booking to stay at a hotel, particularly on my first visit to a foreign country. The alternative provided for 1 night was nice, but it was not what I had booked. I travelled to Dakar on business and had meetings to attend. When told that I would be staying in a different hotel for 1 night I was guaranteed that a driver would collect me the following morning and would take me to my meeting. The driver was at the alternate hotel the next morning but knew nothing about taking me to a meeting. I was taken to the Terrou-Bi hotel, form where I had to take a taxi to my meeting....arriving 45 minutes late. Again, unreliable. The manager at the Terrou-Bi paid for the taxi to my meeting to apologise but did not change the fact that I was late because of the hotel's unreliability. I had wifi connection issues during the last morning of my stay, and when I phoned front desk for assistance the phone was thrown down in my ear because I dont speak French. Everyone that travels knows this happens but certainly not at a 5 star hotel I was eaten up by mosquitoes at night. Not necessarily the hotels fault but have stayed at other 5 star hotels around Africa where precaution are taken and I have not had any mosquito issues 5 star means 5 star and Terrou-Bi does not deliver...I dont pay those rates to be told my pre-booked room has been given away to someone else, and then be late for meetings because of the hotel's incompetence...I could get that type of service from a 3 star hotel, and pay notably less.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked: - The rooms (with sea view) - The pool - The proximity to the beach (10 m) - The food in the restaurants - The overall atmosphere - The SPA service - The friendliness of the staff
Cons: - I paid a lot but seemed to be the only one who did not have a balcony. Most or all other rooms in my category had a balcony. When I indicated the difference and asked for reduction or (at least) to include the breakfast into the price, the staff never followed up. They did not change the room and billed full price. - The shuttle bus/car service is totally overpriced. A taxi ride from and to the airport is between 15-25k. The hotel demands 150K. This is very weak. In particular because the hotel is not in the center of the city. - Internet can be quite slow or disconnects - You cannot iron your shirts in the room (usually 5 star hotels offer this service) - 1 Espresso capsule is free, for the others you have to pay (given the day rate, this should be included)

Pros: The comfort, the friendliness of the staff, and the location.
7.9 Good
Cons: room service is very very slow
7.1 Good
Pros: The sea view
Cons: The quality of the room and the air conditioning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel was amazing and I enjoyed my brief stay there.
Cons: Room service for both dinner and breakfast was a disappointment because items were missing that were requested and even after repeated phone calls nothing happened to fix the issue. Additionally, had I booked the same room, for the same night at the same price on the Radisson Hotels website I would have had a free breakfast. Instead I paid for it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: So clean
Cons: Some staff members
6.3 Good
Pros: fresh fruites

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice breakfast.
Cons: Pool could be better cared for.
7.5 Good
Pros: Convenient location
Cons: Mosquitos in the rooms
7.1 Good
Pros: The area felt safe. The hotel and gardens were nice. The staff were helpful. We had a couple of meals there which were OK. The bedroom was big and the bed was comfortable. There were some nice comfy seats outside. There were always taxis at the end of the road. There were several nice restaurants only a few minutes walk away.
Cons: The plug in the shower didn't drain very well at all, there was generally a smell of drains from the bathroom. The cleaning staff (a very lovely lady) always tried to get in the bedroom whilst we were still in bed - if the door was locked and our key was in the door she was still able to open it. There wasn't much time in between the knock and her unlocking it, to give us chance to answer. There are no signposts at the end of any of the roads, wasn't helpful for taxi drivers!
6.5 Good
Cons: Shower was clogged. Informed staff right away and they did nothing. The water even overflowed from the shower onto the bathroom floors. No offer of discount.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean hotel in a safe area. Front desk was always available and willing to help with your requests like calling a cab for you. Nice rooms with A/C and quiet grounds.
Cons: Pool was ICE cold, which was fine during the heat of the day, but later at night made it unusable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. Decor. Breakfast
Cons: Nice boutique hotel near the sea.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: An elegant welcoming hotel with very helpful lovely staff

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very friendly and helpful, especially Demba who assisted with the touring of Dakar and Goree Island. He was knowledgeable and had interesting anecdotes to add to the narratives about the history of Dakar. The other staff members were courteous and ready to assist wherever possible. A most enjoyable stay.
Cons: Nothing really. My first time in Dakar, so was just a little surprised to see that the hotel was not set in lust gardens. However, the facilities are more than adequate.
7.1 Good
Pros: Very comfortable and clean place.
Cons: WiFi is not available in room. WiFi is in Reception only. Location is so far from corniche and sea sight seeing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming staff, easy Check in/out procedure, modern and elegant interior design, very good breakfast, good working AC, international plugs, clean.
Cons: The building stems out from sand and dust, and no proper street reaches the entrance. But, hey, it's Dakar.

Radisson Hotel Dakar Diamniadio - Dakar - Building
6
8.4 Excellent (701 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Close Proximity to Airport and International conference Center. Gym, Hammam and Sauna,Bar with pool and lobby access and Lobby Coffee station.
7.5 Good
Pros: It was clean, comfy and easy access to airport. Free shuttle is great.
Cons: The Location is very far away to downtown Dakar. Taxi is expensive,as a non-local you are open to be cheated. Very expensive even for Western European standards.
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel is clean and conducive
Cons: The fact that the price have to go higher than what was bargained for
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice hotel, good location if you work near the airport.
Cons: Lacking insect nets, restaurant and hotel prices very high for the location.
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff made this hotel a nice place to stay. They were friendly and accommodating on multiple fronts, especially as my check-out process became complicated.
Cons: The location is convenient to the new Convention Center but horrible for accessing Dakar. A taxi to the real city cost me roughly $30 (each way). Moreover, because there is nowhere else near the hotel at the moment, you are essentially prisoner to their prices for food. The lunch buffet was 15,000 CFA and they added an extra 2,500 CFA for the "buffet" beverages (non-alcoholic). They can do this because they have no competition - you literally have nowhere else to go.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Check in later than expected
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Being in transit in Dakar just for one night, the location of this hotel, not far from AIBD airport, was perfect. Despite the lack of time spent in the hotel, the overall impression given was very positive.
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is quite close to the airport but it is far away from our Conference venue which is Radison Blu Sea, Dakar. It takes us more than an hour to get to the Venue due to traffic at the toll gates.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything

6.3 Good
Pros: clean and close to the beach.
Cons: The location, a dangerous place plenty of thieves and scammers. definitely won't come again.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Location and the view - easy access to ngor
Cons: I wouldn’t recommend this place for different reasons: - room we got was located next to the loud perroquets - WiFi not working - staff is rude and unhelpful - breakfast, despite nice jams, only one piece of 3cm of bread - asked for a bit more bread, staff said we had to pay extra for that ( even though breakfast already costs 7,50) Should be a hostel instead of a hotel and pricing should be reviewed.
8.3 Excellent

Cons: Nothing to dislike.
4.6 Okay

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very nice people. The terrace was great for breakfast and evening chats. Great food in the restaurant.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: You cannot find a lot of hostels in Senegal unfortunately, which is a shame as it is a great way to meet other travelers, especially if you travel alone. It is also in a quite area, near the beach The omelet for breakfast was great.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: A house with a lovely location in Yoff 1 Minute walk from the beach, dormitory was very spacious, beds were comfortable. Everyone there very friendly, always top clean. Will book again.
Cons: The mosquito nets could be renewed as they are full of holes but anyway mosquitos are not that an issue in Dakar. It would be great to have soap for the hands in the toilet too. Guests are not allowed to use the kitchen. I would have welcome to be able to make some tea at night or in the morning for example. Theres a fridge for common use though and a menu to choose from.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The Host IS very friendly and helpful. Enough space in the room and a nice balcony. Good Internet and comfortabel and very Clean bed. Thanks for all...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome hosts, really nice yard, spacious and clean rooms. And they have the cutest children! :)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: despite the near the beach Location thanks to off-season special price I could go to the beach easily I was able to see Kitesurf for the first time It was a pity I couldn't watch djembe performances and dances at a nearby restaurant that it was not the top season I was happy to drink delicious espresso!
Cons: It would be better if the shower drain was running
7.9 Good
Pros: Very polite staff: Fabio and Fatima can give you many advices about Dakar and the test of Senegal too
Cons: A little bit expensive the breakfast and the food, but they supports a little NGO so it could be ok
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice house close to the beach in a really calm area far from the crazy city! Comfortable beds
Cons: It is 3 hours walking from the city center. The beach is almost imposible to swim... so big waves perfect for surf :)
7.1 Good
Pros: The location, a good price for this place
Cons: Only one shower in the entire property
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really liked to stay at Ker Jahkarlo. The location is great, near the beach with a few restaurants to eat for dinner. The house itself is clean and with generous space. Even during the hot times of the day it is cool inside. If you need any help Fabio always has an open ear and gives advice. Will definetly recommend this place to friends if they visit Dakar and want to stay in a bit more quiet area.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: It is is the heart of the plateau and within walking distance to most landmarks
Cons: Cannot pin down

Cons: Rudeness of one particular member of staff- a lady at reception.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The bed sheet
Cons: None
7.9 Good
Pros: The roof top terrace offers spectacular views of Dakar. Staff were very helpful with calling taxis for us and negotiating the fee beforehand.
Cons: The place needs a revamp, especially the terrace which has florescent lighting at night and dated furniture.
7.9 Good
Pros: In the heart of the city, easy to walk everywhere. Clean room.
Cons: Needs renovation.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is a nice hotel. Although it feels a bit hidden because of the design of the streets in Dakkar this place is really tasteful. It was very clean, very well organised room and a beautiful scenery all around, terrace on top was a bit run down but absolutely magical and really affords 360 views all around the plateau. Security is high, staff are very warm. Bed was so confortable, wonderfull pillow assortment, is just a great great room.
Cons: The safe in the first room was not working so i had to move to another, and i hated it because the first room had this huge window that i loved. Staff in the restaurant MUST carry a notebook and a pencil to note the order correctly!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was good, but if you get there close to 10am you’ll be out of luck.
Cons: Not much
La Demeure - Dakar - Building
10
8.1 Excellent (119 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at La Demeure in Dakar, you'll be in the entertainment district, within a 10-minute drive of Ile de Goree Beach and Marché Fass. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great Staff and in a convenient location. Service was really nice.
Cons: Can be kind of loud with a Mosque across the street but that’s very minimal.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The roof top terrasse was lovely.
Cons: We stayed at the Lakipita 'suite'. It had an old worn out couch, an old kitchen and very old bathroom that did not reflect the pictures. The smell in the bathroom was really bad. The pool was in a dark, small court yard in the back and it was not clean. We recommend La Residence instead. It is cheaper, better located and better quality.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Super clean. I have a very nice and big room, which is what I needed for this trip.
Cons: Breakfast is ok. It could be better.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was good for the Mamelles lighthouse, Renaissance monument and Mamelles beach
Cons: This is a great hotel for business travellers coming for the development sector activities at NGO offices and embassies in the neighbourhood, but perhaps not as interesting for tourist visitors.
7.5 Good
Pros: La Demeure was recommended by expat friends. It's a fairly simple guest house with the tremendous added bonus of the rooftop deck. We enjoyed it throughout our stay, not just at breakfast but it was a comfortable place to relax in the late afternoon. There is an honor bar, so we took advantage of that to enjoy a beer during sunset.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great service. Intimate feel. Great views of Dakar from the rooftop terrace. Every room has it own identity so they are all unique.
6.3 Good
Pros: I was picked up at airport (reasonable extra cost) when my plane was delayed. The cook on rooftop terrace was very friendly and her breakfast omelett was good. Located near main road with easy access to transport. Hotel dog was friendly and very cute. The small roof terrace was a very nice place to retreat to to get some air and streatch my sight as my room was dark with no view/balcony
Cons: Items disappearing from my room. Reporting it to the staff made me very uncomfortable since the establishment is very small. In fairness one item re-appeared in front desk a few days after I had reported it, and two days after I had felt it necessary to leave the establishment. The tiny swimmingpool was not for swimming and the water in it was very unclean. No possible evacuation route from room in case of fire.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable and cool room in a quiet neighborhood just off the main road. A delicious selection of breads and pastries, eggs, crepes, served with coffee and juice on the roof top terrace overlooking the ocean.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nicely designed place, pan-African style, subtle and pretty. Everything was clean and comfortable. The terrace is beautiful.
Cons: Some confusion with breakfast. One day the server/cook wasn't there, then the wait is very long for it to be ready. If you are not in the rush, it's fine.
6.7 Good
Pros: The hotel is in a nice quiet neighborhood, a short taxi-ride to many good restaurants. The breakfast was delicious and the roof where they serve it is beautiful.
Cons: There a few things that could make this place a lot better. Like making sure there are towels and toilet paper in the room, instead of having to ask for them. The bathtub didn’t have a curtain, and every time you take a shower, it drowns the entire bathroom.

5.8 Okay
Cons: Band playing in evening till 23:00. It was so load that nobody could sleep. After complaining to reception, no manager available, they just said they could do nothing about it. Less than 10 people were sitting outside to listen to the music but half of people in hotel could not sleep. Is this a hotel or nightclub?

Pros: Everything about Novotel is perfect, really enjoyed my stay
Cons: Everything was perfect
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is great. Hotel is comfortable

Cons: Old and unwelcoming, standard rooms feels claustrophobic and cleanliness is questionable. Wifi is poor, hair dryer is 50 years old, minibar empty. Stayed only one night and glad I did. Will never go back, same price as the Pullman but not comparable at all.

6.5 Good
Pros: Hotel location was ok, friendly staff.
Cons: Rooms are getting old and a little damp. Got a sea-view which only gave me a partial view. Booking through Kayak/Getaroom included breakfast but hotel charged me for it.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: The staff was awesome specially madame Comba front desk manager or supervisor. She made our anniversary great Thanks Comba
Cons: Wifi was not working
6.8 Good
Pros: Huge hotel. Very kind staff.
Cons: Old rooms. Smells bad
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Clea common area. Food and personal are good.
Cons: Rooms are old and not really fresh, the carpet was definitely a bad idea. I don't know what they did with the closet but it felt like they kept cats in there as it smells like cat piss. There is no real beach because it is small and quite dirty, and the ocean is not attractive.
7.7 Good
Pros: It was clean, staff friendly and helpful and food was very good.
Cons: The internet reception was abysmal, barely could view any graphics or photos, forget video. The carpet and furniture need replacing. Some of the lawns around the facility needed attention. My closet smelled musty, toilet ran constantly. The room doors need replacing too as they slam when closing them, very noisy. Back in it's day this must have been awesome.
7.1 Good
Pros: The staff was exceptional from reception, to the concierge, to the people in the restaurant. I just happened to be there at the perfect time and got to go to a Youssou N'Dour concert on the property. Tickets were only $50USD for VIP seats. The pool area was lovely as well, but I didn't get to partake. The food at the restaurant was delicious.
Cons: The facilities and decorations in the room are old. There were rust stains in the toilet and sometimes I had to let the water run so that the brown water would pass first. The wifi was ok...sometimes it went out for patches of time.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic swimming pool
Cons: The breakfast could be richer...
7.1 Good
Cons: For a 4 stars hotel they should have better service and better internet
4.2 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff. Nice location if you're looking for a relaxing ocean-front and poolside weekend, and walks along the cliff-top road.
Cons: Biggest issue: mouse in my room the first night. Moved rooms and didn't see another one the remaining three nights, but still. For this price point, there should not be mice. The hotel may have been four-star when first built, but now feels dated and in need of a refresh (e.g., hairdryer resembles a carwash vacuum in appearance - didn't try using it). "Fitness center" does not have a single machine (e.g., bike, treadmill) - only some weights and step stools that could be used for a (small) cardio class - felt like false advertising. Location is not ideal for business travelers as it's a bit out of the way.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Position, swimming pool, staff.
Cons: Taxi too expensive, no music at the bar.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wifi was strong all over the premises
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing scenery, pool and ocean views.
7.5 Good
Pros: A bit different "hotel".Several buildi gs connected by nice garden. If you want to enjoy sun near pool at nice windy coastal point, without to look at city, then come here. Air is fresh from the sea side and shadow under the palms you will find. Open area, quite windy, no mosqitoes.Airport shuttle transport works fine.Trustfull stuff.Safe guarded place by heavy armed Police. No visitors and selling anything at the hotel gate. City walking distance
Cons: TV...french TV stations only. No sauna,no spa, even as extra option. No hotel massage service. There is a gym, but you must announce when you will use it so, I lost my intention due that. Breakfast...no options for people with intolerance to glutein. No rice, no potatoes. Italian styled breakfast....bred and butter and marmelade. Fresh fruit platter is OK
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located on the corniche, offering beautiful ocean views (towards Gorée Island) from all it's rooms. It is equipped with a big pool that is ideal for swimming (50 m) as well as suitable for kids. The staff in all areas is absolutely charming, helpful and welcoming. The manager makes his round at breakfast to greet the guests personally and any request is immediately taken care of. From the location of the hotel you can either take a walk to the city center or take one of the taxis that are available at all times.
Cons: The connection of the wifi could be a bit better. Unfortunately this also causes problems with the payment process, as the connection at times is not good enough to process credit cards. The breakfast is nice, you will find everything you need (fresh vegetables, eggs, cold cuts and cheese, salad, bread and sweet baked goods as well as fruit), it could however be improved by some more variation between the days and by adding some more local dishes.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Staff were helpful and very nice, when asked for directions around in Dakar and info about the city they were really helpful and took their time helping me. View from the room was very good Room was comfortable and cozy Finding a taxi from the hotel is very easy
Cons: Nothing really
7.5 Good
Pros: Good
Cons: Nine
5.4 Okay
Pros: Despite my bad experience I can say There was a great view, helpful staff, decent wifi
Cons: Hot water didn't work! Also, it seems like they need to invest in some updates, things were outdated and my phone or hair dryer didn't work also. I was given a small discount because I complained a lot about the water, but I think this hotel is overpriced and you can find something both cheaper and much nicer

7.9 Good
Pros: Huge apartments great for families, really friendly and helpful staff, very reasonably priced shuttle service.
Cons: Locks on patio doors broken, kitchen big but basic and fridge not plugged in, kids found it a bit noisy from outside at night.
5.0 Okay
Pros: It’s not far from the beach and has many restaurants nearby.
Cons: The bed was terrible. There is no English channels on TV. Wifi and electricity are not available for most of the time. There is vibration and loud noise from a demolition of a building nearby. It’s very hard to rest.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Comfortable bed. Friendly and very helpful staff! Accommodation was very clean.
Cons: Location very noisy. Apartment not as advertised! We had to ask for everything from toilet paper to breakfast. No breakfast the first day. On the second day breakfast provided for only two instead of three. Cleaner kept knocking on door to tell us to switch air conditioner off! No curtain on window in bathroom!
5.0 Okay
Cons: We were not served breakfast. Master bedroom was ok.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The bed was comfy. The croissants were flaky and beautiful but would have loved more breakfast variety.
Cons: Did not an English channel on the television.
4.6 Okay
Pros: there was no breakfast, not a hotel for business trips
6.7 Good
Pros: This hotel is in a residential area. If you are interested seeing everyday life in Dakar, this is a good place. It's a 10 minute walk to a beautiful beach. There are a few small stores within walking distance, and a French grocery store (Auchan) a 10 minute walk from the hotel. There are live animals in the street, and there's a mosque right around the corner. Be prepared for the call to prayer early in the morning.
Cons: The check out process was unfortunate. I did not understand that my reservation through Booking.com only held my reservation, but didn't pay for it. I was waiting for a taxi to take me to the airport, when suddenly the person working the reception alerted me that my bill needed to be paid. I gave him 2 different cards, but apparently the network was down and they didn't work. I had to go to an ATM and withdraw 170.000 CFA! While my taxi was waiting! And I needed to get to the airport! This was very disturbing and stressful. I had been sitting in the reception area for 20 minutes. The young man could have told me sooner than when I was loading my bags into the taxi! If you are prepared to cook your meals, this place will work for you. However, if you want to go out to eat, you'll have to take a taxi to a different area. There are few sit down restaurants within a 20 minute radius on foot.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The cleanliness, kitchen and comfortable size of the room.
Cons: Location is Sandy and dimly lighted street.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I highly recommended hotel Kakatar super friendly and helpful staff, rooms are very clean
Cons: Nothing

5.4 Okay
Pros: The location is ok in a quiet surroundings. But the breakfast is too boring. Had same breakfast of three types of bread, two butters, a jam, tea and orange juice every morning for 12 mornings without any change. Previous guests suggested that RYSAVA should change and improve the fixed breakfast half year ago. RYSAVA replied they would improve. But it seems that what I had for breakfast is same as that of half year ago.
Cons: Breakfast is not good for long-term stay guests. For short stay, like few days, it is ok.
7.1 Good
Pros: The hotel displayed a lot of dishonesty. They changed money for me and got me a cab only for me to pay the cab driver with the same currency and he claimed that the currencies were CFA2,000 as against CFA10,000 as given to me by the hotel. The hotel took side with him meaning they jointly defrauded me
Cons: They should improve the quality of breakfast server in the hotel
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fast internet and kind staff
Cons: Breakfast was poor
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Rysara Hotel is a delighful Oasis in a quiet neighborhood of Downtown Dakar (Plateau). The rooms are very comfortable, of good size, perfectly tidy, and very well furnished and maintained. The staff at front desk as well as the chamber maids are very friendly, professional, attentive and helpful. There is a restaurant with indoor and patio seating on site. Definitely a recommendable place for business and leisure travelers.
Cons: Breakfast seemed inadequate for this category of hotel. However, an update of the breakfast concept and expansion of options was in the works according to management. Probably much improved by the time of publication of this review.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Well, I’d definitely stay there again. Staff are very friendly and helpful. One of janitors ironed all my creased shirts which was helpful. The hotel itself is really charming and very clean. My room was both large and modern, beautiful! The food on the menu was delicious, try the Tiof fish! The location of hotel is perfect, you can walk to the nearby Cornish with a lovely view of the beaches, you’d think you’re in Spain! And price-wise, very good value for money! :)

6.0 Good
Cons: The breakfast. There were no variety of bread such as the wheat bread ; no yougourt ..... Wi-Fi was up and down.Merci
7.5 Good
Pros: This is a nice enough hotel. It was comfortable and the staff was nice. It's close to a private beach called Marina Bay which I went to on my down town over the weekend. I recommend staying here, but go out to eat down the road to a place called Sao Brasil. Good bar and decent food.
Cons: Breakfast not included which I thought for the price could have been.

5.4 Okay
Pros: Location is great, walking distance to anything in centre ville. Beautiful ocean front deck with good cocktails. Hospitable and helpful ataff
Cons: I stayed in one of the non ocean facing rooms, and it was just depressing. Tiny window, halogen lights and a foam mattress. Very loud when people were in the hall way. The location of the hotel is great but you don't feel it in the rooms. Other places are cheaper and similarly located in the ville. For this price the rooms aren't worth it.Wouldn't go again.
5.1 Okay
Pros: Location was nice. View can't be beat
Cons: There are literally 112 steps to get into the hotel. Carrying luggage down that sucked! Also, the room was ok but not luxurious by any means. For the price, you could stay at a much better hotel closer to the city center. Also, they don't even leave the lights in the hallway on. Imagine carrying luggahe down 112 steps then taking an unairconditioned elevator to your room then stepping off into a dark hallway with no 2indows and lights off. Creepy! Each room had a tiny unit ac. Definitely not worth the price. We ended up checking out eau and moving to the pullman!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, walking distance to the markets and good restaurants. Nice comfortable room, and great bathroom. Staff were really friendly and helpful.
Cons: Despite advertising a bar there does not appear to be a bar
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff were kind and helpfull. Good location
Cons: The hotel doesn't have restaurant amd bar
7.9 Good
Pros: Comfortable rooms and inobtrusive service make this a very good value hotel for those travelling on a budget. Breakfast is excellent, and the outdoor dining area is well protected from frequent street vendors by a glass partition that still allows for people watching. Very reliable wifi.
Cons: Staff not particularly responsive - I never received any replies to my request for transport from the airport and had to make my own arrangements. Rooms are noisy - you can hear everything going on in the street below and the comings and goings of other guests. Windows in my room didn't lock/close properly and have no flyscreens
4.6 Okay
Pros: Not provided. Should be a bread and breakfast hotel
Cons: Small space, wifi not stable. Off for more than 5 hours, mosquitoes battle overnight. Light going off and on. Many more
6.7 Good
Pros: The location and the staff are outstanding. The price is very fair.
Cons: The bathroom is run down. The shower needs to be replaced entirely. The smell of sewerage was present at all times. It was unbearable. The location in the heart of downtown Dakar makes it a noisy location.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly host. Good price vs quality
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly with fluency in English. Helped a lot for any information or need. Good and comfy room
Cons: Internet was slow and breakfast should be improved upon. They should spring clean.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: At £37;50 for one night in a good location it was fantastic value. The aircon, TV, lights, WC, shower all worked OK.
Cons: Being just off the main road the taxi driver could not find it, so the hotel sent someone out to the main road to guide him in.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very nice staffing.
Cons: Breakfast could be included in the rent price.
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful.
Cons: Smoking is allowed. My room smelled musty. There was an ashtray in the room I never imagined in this day and age I would have to specifically request a non-smoking room. I could not use the patio restaurants because of the smokers.
