Pros: Unique expérience from the start to the beginning
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is small - 15 rooms, which is delightful - you have the ability to get to know other guests. David, the owner (this has been home to his family for 7 generations). Amazing food - truly gourmet...beautiful rooms with all the modern conveniences (very comfortable bed) AND the grounds are absolutely lovely. You feel you have been transported in time - We loved the property & David is an outstanding host! You will love Cortona - we will be back.
Cons: Nothing - everything was perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the 17th century building, but with all the modern comforts. Fine dining. The owner is amazing and passionate about his home and welcomes you like a friend. Short drive to Cortona to see the beautiful village.
10.0 Excellent

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful villa at a fantastic location. Friendly and welcoming staff
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, starting with a superb welcome from Lisa. The experience was one of complete relaxation, Villa Loggio and environs offer the best of Tuscany rural life with high levels of service in an unobtrusive manner, everything from the rooms, the views, to the rustic well executed meals made this a stay to remember, we loved it and will be back.
Cons: Villa Loggio was superb, the roads to the venue need a bit of work!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The whole place is just magical, the building , the grounds, the views, the decor Huge room with an amazing bathroom
Cons: Breakfast needs a little attention, and the gardener started mowing the lawn very early
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a perfect stay at Villa Loggio. It exceeded our expectations as it is so much more beautiful than a picture could capture. The hotel had the best beds we've slept in for a long time. We would definitely try to come back here. If you book you stay, make sure to book the dinner they serve too, it was really good.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Good location between two hill towns. The pool was fantastic on a nice sunny day.
Cons: Breakfast Air con could have been cooler. Windows were too small. Two dogs roamed the property. We loved them but if you are not a dog person you may not like them bounding up to you when you get out of your car.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful accommodations & grounds. Staff and Chef Patricias meals were outstanding!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the relaxed atmosphere! People were so friendly and helped organise a truffle hunting trip as well as a cooking lesson with Roberta! Both were superb. The wine is great and it really is fantastic for views and sunsets. Pool area is good. The location is also perfect for exploring this part of Tuscany.
Cons: The whole stay was fantastic but just a small few points. Mosquitos are vicious so be prepared. Pool could do with some slightly updated beds. I know minimalist is the idea but a more hooks/shelves in the bathroom would be helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing food and wine . The property is stunning and the grounds make you feel like like you’re on a movie set ! Can’t wait to be back ! Also we were upgraded to the suit free of charge as it was our honeymoon and they went out of their way to do our laundry despite the short notice and the breakfast was delicious ! Sarah gave us great wine education and the wine tasting was amazing ! Thank you ! The stay was perfection !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were professional and proactive. Loved the starters at dinner on two occasions. Beautiful pool and calm, peaceful setting. Wrenching ourselves away was very difficult!
Cons: Would have liked larger windows to enjoy fabulous view. Would have liked a bath tub as well as a shower cubicle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What an amazing villa! Loved everything about this place, especially the friendly dogs! Staff were lovely and always helpful. We had dinner at the Villa which was very nice, breakfast was generous and tasty. The pool area is very relaxing, room was luxury - loved the huge shower in our room. Walking round the villa there are views and sunsets everywhere! There are only a small number of rooms so it feels very intimate compared to a hotel. Wine was really nice and well priced. I would highly recommend!
Cons: Nothing
Dolce Maria - Cortona - Building
3
9.3 Excellent (196 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Just 100 metres from Piazza della Repubblica, the Dolce Maria is located in the mediaeval hill town of Cortona. It offers free Wi-Fi, a restaurant, and rustic yet elegant rooms with antique furnishings. Featuring exposed-beam ceilings and terracotta floors, rooms at the Dolce Maria House are decorated with chandeliers and frescoed walls. Each has views of Cortona, the Valdichiana or a courtyard from the large windows. This 15th-century building has a Tuscan restaurant serving local dishes, accompanied by wines from all over Italy. A daily buffet breakfast is provided. The Signorelli Cinema and Theatre is 200 metres from the property. Lake Trasimeno is 13 km away, and Assisi is a 1-hour drive from the Dolce Maria B&B.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Paula and Franco were like family. Note there is no elevator and rooms are up 2 flights
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Antique old town property; spacious room; family run. Excellent restaurant.
Cons: Lots of stairs - keeps you fit!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close To the Central Square but very quiet and private. We were treated very well. Lovely place to stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location easy walking distance to the central piazza once you arrive. There is an incredible sweeping west view of the surrounding countryside. You take a secret spiral staircase to the rooftop and watch the sunset!
Cons: The property is great; however the town of Cortona has infamously steep climbs with your bags up from parking just outside the walled town. As long as you are reasonably fit it is doable but may take some effort.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The room was well appointed and very large and had a wonderful surprise of having a roof terrace to ourselves with a spectacular view!
Cons: We loved it but had low expectations so we had no complaints!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing Marmalade! Helpful and pleasant hostess. Handsome unfriendly cat.... a diva!
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We could not have asked for a better experience than we had at Dolce Maria. Paola made us feel completely at home in every way and our room was amazing - 14' ceilings, with exposed beams, modern bath and an amazing terrace with incomparable views of the valley below Cortona, accessible via a winding circular staircase from our room. Of all the restaurants we ate in during our nearly two-week stay in Italy, Paola's was without question the best - amazing tagliatelle di bistecca and other freshly sourced and prepared goodies. And the breakfast was not your average continental hotel fare - fresh fruit, home-made jams and sweets, honey, juices. I'd go on, but I'd run out of room, except to say that Paola gave us and our luggage a ride from to our car below the town in her own car. Amazing visit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All was fantastic!
7.5 Good
Pros: A well established guest house near the Piazza della Repubblica. Whilst a little tired in places it was comfortable and clean. The breakfast was functional, and Paula's homemade cakes were a real treat. We were in a good sized family room at the top of the house (lots of stairs) which was fine.
Cons: The only negatives were the noise from the kitchen and courtyard which went on until midnight both nights, even with the windows closed and ear plugs you could still hear the music; and the hotel wifi didnt reach our room. Overall nice place, great location, clean and comfortable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming and helpful hostess. An amazing room with spectacular views from the tower. Perfect location in a quiet street less than a minutes walk from the main square. High quality restaurant for dinner, good breakfasts
Cons: Nothing at all
7.7 Good
Pros: I cannot say enough about how wonderful the people are at Dolce Maria. We called when we got into the train station at Camucia and they drove down and picked us up. The b and b is in the perfect location and was so cozy and we had everything we needed. We had dinner next door at the family restaurant and it was some of the best food we had! They explained the food and told us all about it and then made sure we loved it ~ and we did! When we go back, we want to have a cooking lesson. Will definitely return to Dolce Maria.
Cons:

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cortona resort and Spa was our favourite accommodation From the spots we stayed in Italy. The hotel Property was so beautiful, rooms were spacious and clean, the staff were incredibly helpful....they really knew their wines, breakfast was so good...I had fresh croissants and pastries every day. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was great. I would highly recommend this resort. I will come back again.
Cons: I loved everything
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent facilities, great staff and fantastic breakfast!
Cons: Hotels in Italy somehow always have quite noise hallways that you can hear from the room (loud doors etc), here no exception, but considering its a fairly small place it was manageable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice site, with a good spa. Our family room was a good size with a king bed and sleep sofa for the kids. We didn’t eat at the restaurant but ventured out into Cortona.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel with personal service and Very Nice Spa
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very nice although would be nice to have more choices offered. Dinner was absolutely perfect. Food amazing, setting also outside under trees. Rafael helped us to feel welcomed and at home although we where only foreigners.
Cons: It would be nice that owners invest in bigger pool. One that is colder should be 3x bigger due to number of guests. There is plenty of space for expansion. Size of a pool is a bit ridiculous. Invest, it would increase booking for sure! Traffic make it more noisier than we expected when booking in that area (away from city).
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a beautiful quiet property. Great for some rest and relaxation. Excellent and helpful staff.
Cons: It is at the bottom of the hill from the main town of Cortona. This was not that big a deal as you can get a ride for dinner. You can walk, which we also did, but it is about a 30 - 40 minute uphill jaunt. So not for the elderly or disabled.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly staff, who paid special attention to our 2.5 year old daughter. Heated outdoor pool was excellent as we stayed there beginning of October. We got a spacious room and the everyday cleaning was very good. Food at the restaurant excellent although a bit higher priced than normal in Italy. Good knowledge of wines by the restaurant staff and they had personalized recommendations. All staff spoke above average English compared to rest of Italy.
Cons: A coffee & tea maker in the room was the only thing missing, next to some amenities at the spa (scrub, body lotion, ...).

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful Property staffed by caring Friendly Italians. Treated us like family. A 5 Star facility.
Cons: Gourmet Restaurant was a tad pricey but food was unique. Excellent overall.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The welcome, the lay out of the property and level of service all added to the most wonderful two day stay.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful Tuscany Manor hideaway with splendid views, great rooms in the hills (ask for the scenery located rooms - more authentic than those near the house), top (star) restaurant and very good wine production (do certainly the tasting tour). Relaxing spa and 2 swimming pools to splash into.
Cons: The room airco is not great. It cools but never reaches the requested temperature. The breakfast could be better for a star restaurant. The selection of cold cuts is limited and we had often in Tuscany better quality. Also the orange juice is not freshly squeezed and fresh fruit was several times not ripe. Staff is friendly but service is now and then not efficient (hence longer waiting time).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional politeness and kindness of all the stuff. Many thanks to Silvia and Riccardo and will not forget the super talented Signore Titi, the well educated Maitre d’Hotel and Sommelier
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was great! Very peaceful place. Staff was all very helpful and friendly. Close to Cortona. Dinner overlooking the valley was a real treat. A little difficult to find the first time, but after that OK.
Cons: Location was a little difficult to find the first time. A few spiders in the room but that may have been a function of the building just having been constructed and opened for the first time.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were super friendly and made this trip extra special. It was a luxury hen do for my daughter who was getting married two days later. We had the wine tour and Pierre Francesco was excellent and taught us how to sabre open bottles which was great fun. We went on to have a tasting menu which was out of this world. Elisabetta made everything work for us and we would love to visit again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view, the luxury, the good and most of all the staff. Professional and friendly staff made us feel at home and cared for.
Cons: It’s quite a walk from the dining area to the rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is large and peaceful. Rolling hills, grapevines, fruit trees and roses along the paths.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We spent the first 3 nights of our honeymoon here , and it was abselutely fantastic! Even better in real life than photos. Super nice rooms, pool area, spa area and the restaurant is excellent! Close to lovely city Cortona (5min drive) and hotel staff is super helpful and friendly. We will definately come back again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything here was perfect! Loved it so much that I can’t wait to go back.

Pros: Breakfast very good. I had an evening meal most evenings in the restaurant and the food was excellant. Staff were extremely helpful and I am already planning to book next year.
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: The restaurant atmosphere and food were fantastic. Omar was super efficient and very helpful. Pool was lovely to cool off in.
Cons: The sofa bed was very uncomfortable
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our 3 night stay here. It felt like a big family. The location was good as it was only a 7 minute drive to the old town of Cortona and just a bit longer to the lake. It was nice to go back each afternoon and swim then eat dinner out on the verandah. The rooms were spacious. If I was going back to the area I would definitely stay there again.
Cons: It would have been nice to have a topper of the bed as it was a bit firm. The only problem we found was they allow dogs in the restaurant, which is apparently common in Italy but the dog from next door kept coming in and barking, hanging around looking for food then at breakfast 1 morning it did it's business next the table where we were eating. They did clean it up fairly quickly but we had to leave the restaurant as it was just too smelly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stylish, simple, comfortable accommodation with very friendly, helpful staff. The room was beautiful, spacious, clean, charming, quiet. The food and wine were excellent. Stefano was a gracious and charming host. Of course the countryside was magnificent.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: Nothing.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is reasonably good the owner and staff are gracious and helpful the location is very beautiful the breakfast is good.
Cons: I liked the location and the silence and beauty of the whole region.
7.5 Good
Pros: Country inn, originally a water mill, is full of character and charm
Cons: The restaurant, one of three in the Baracchi enterprise, offers a rustic experience, which failed to live up to expectations and is a poor relation to its sister Botega in Cortona. Food and drink seriously lacking in choice and overpriced for its niche particularly compared to the excellent in-town overall dining experience at its sibling. On one night half the menu not available.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quaint rural location that was very peaceful and relaxing. Staff was exceptionally attentive remembering you by name and doing everything they could to make your stay the best. Food was very good as was wines
Cons: Ability to stay longer would have been nice but Unfortunately other places to go
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The locanda is stunning as is its sister hotel il falconiere. The staff at both are attentive and charming and make you feel at home. Thank you so much to stephano for a wonderful stay
Cons: Nothing it was wonderful

Pros: Loved the view, Italian charm, very spaciousness, and great, easy walk to town center. Francesca was so helpful and available for questions, check in, and great suggestions. Can't wait to come back again. This is everything, and more than what we were hoping for!! Thank you.
Cons: This wasn't a problem for us but like most walled towns, you need to park down the hill so be prepared to walk up hill to apartment and then up a few flights of stairs to get in. Worth the climb once you see the view
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delightful hostess, lovely light and airy rooms which were beautifully decorated. Interesting old furniture. All was spotlessly clean. Excellent situation with view over the valley and only five minutes walk from main piazza.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: it's a great place with beatiful view, very quite and calm, the staff is very nice and helpful
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely stay at Villa Borgo San Pietro. The pool area was so relaxing, the breakfast was great and the room was really comfortable. We wished we had stayed for longer than 1 night/day. Also a great location as very peaceful in the countryside but only a 10 minute drive to the centre of Cortona.
Cons: Really liked our stay here.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and the hotel is a beautiful old well restored farm/villa with a huge well maintained garden. The staff was constantly thinking along with us what to visit or what to do in the area or Cortona. Our air conditioner wasn’t working well but was repaired very quickly after a complaint.
Cons: The place is a little remote and as it was pre-season there was no food service so every time we had to use the car to go for a 20 minutes drive to Cortona. We good order a dinner in advance but it was a set menu and to dine on your own is not very attractive. Staff was very friendly and offered us the last night a transfer service to Cortona.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very short but enjoyable stay. We take advantage of the nice swimming pool and took a walk in the beautiful park surrounding the hotel. Very nice room, good breakfast and overall relaxing environment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: charming triple room with a huge antique fireplace and tasteful fabrics, a beautiful pool and peaceful setting, ideal for a quiet time
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice location close to Cortona, an evening shuttle service is offered for 20EUR rtn per room. Staff were friendly and professional. Rooms were OK, we had a superior double and it was smaller and more basic than the booking.com photos suggest. Nice breakfast
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very good hotel and after driving for a long time was good to have a swimming pool to refresh. The room was a good size, but with 2single beds put together. It was a very relaxing place. Staff very helpful, specially Gloria! We wish we could have stayed longer.
Cons: The address given in the website, when we put it on the GPS, sent us to a completely different place, which was frustrating, as we were driving for too long and we took 1h to find the place, but we had to call the hotel 2x and someone met us in a place, so we could follow him to the hotel. The signs on the street indicating the hotel should be improved, as it’s very hard to see with all the other signs and also you guys should get in contact with whoever is necessary to fix it in the GPS signal, as other 2 other people also had problems fixing the hotel. Breakfast was beautifully exposed, but not so many options, though, for people who doesn’t really like sweet food. The water went off just when we had to have a shower to check out, so, it was a bit frustrating as well, but the young reception guy really tried to help and a plumber was there soon. He let us check out a bit later for that. But on average, our stay was very pleasant!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing views of the hilltop Cortona, well kept surroundings, olive orchard, rosemary bushes in full bloom, waking up to the tune of blackbirds... great breakfast & coffee, comfortable and super clean room.
Cons: the fact that we had to go back home :(
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent value for money with good breakfast included. Relaxing grounds and pool.
Cons: No restaurant nearby for dinner
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Pros: I liked very much the staff who helped us, very service minded. Nice experience with communication and information thru WhatsApp before arriving and during the stay if we had any questions. Helped us with restaurant reservation in Cortona and taxi. Also answered other questions we had during our stay. Vincenzo and his team was very service minded. I recommend this hotel.
Cons: The bed may be a bit hard for some people. We solved this with extra blankets. So no worries.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel and room were wonderful. Breakfast was good. Lovely secluded location and grounds.
Cons: The RESTAURANT WAS TERRIBLE. We ate outside, when we sat down it was light and by the time our main course came 1hr and 20mins later it had turned dark and we could hardly see what we were eating the outside lighting was poor where we had been seated. The first bottle of wine we chose was sold out - but the wine list hadn't been updated. My wife had spaghetti that was under cooked. When she ate it it was swelling up in her throat and choked her. She barely ate the main course, left the table and whilst walking back to the room was sick. When I spoke to the hotel reception the next morning they said they couldn't do anything about it as it was under different ownership.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place was beyond exceptional. Unbelievable history and charm. I would not recommend staying anywhere else near Cortona! 5 stars!! Vincenzo was phenomenal. We LOVED staying here!
Cons: The restaurant (outside vendor) was just OK. But that does in any way detract in any way from the the hotel at Borgo oil Melone. We LOVE this hotel!!!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff. Vincenzo was very helpful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place in the middle of well maintained natural sight.
Cons: Insulation was really poor: you could hear everything in the room next to ours. Breakfast was average with too many industrial products.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: location, pool, amenities, breakfast (coffee not hot enough), beauty of the estate
Cons: For my last dinner I asked for the pepper stake. It took 1 hour and 15 minutes (!) to arrive and when it finally did it was uneatable, the meat was like rubber. I refused it rather angrily of course.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were delightful [Vincenzo and Allessandro so helpful!] and our room was spacious with a huge renovated bathroom. Perfect location for driving up to Cortona on the hill
Cons: Mattress was quite firm and I struggled to get comfortable on the first night. Also, it would be great to have some more fresh fruit available at breakfast
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Totally gorgeous full of character. Wonderful just sitting in the garden or by the pool. Claudia and team so kind and couldn't do enough to help us . Fabulous.
Cons: Own vehicle very necessary as this is a B&B with nowhere to walk to for food/drink except a minimart. But drink available in house and food could be ordered specially. Also great homemade meal available twice a week. Taxi necessary to visit hilltop town of Cortona..quite pricey.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Il Sole Del Sodo is an idyllic place. Enough privacy to enjoy on your own, but also common areas , and delicious dinner with local dishes cooked by the lovely host Claudia, twice a week .

Cons: Everything. SIMPLY THE BEST!

Pros: Simonetta you are the best cooking teacher , apartment was very clean nice and cosy ,all around it is a sentence of Toscania ..perfect!! Kisses for Lia ( fantastic dog, walking with us in the evening)
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you doubt the pictures on the postcards from Tuscany, visit this place and your doubts will be dispelled. Under the conducting of Simonetta and Guido (and strict supervision of their dog Lia), nothing on the property is left to the coincidence. From breakfast, to furnishment and maintenance. The apartment was spotlessly clean, not even a stain of dried water on a shower stall. Beds are high and comfortable. Fridge was good sized and we appreciated the freezer inside. There are particular details to the rooms, like interesting pictures on the walls and extremely well thought lines, that emphasize the shapes of doors and windows, and coincide with lights on the walls. Powerful fans on the ceiling are very good substitute for air con, the temperature inside was perfect. There are mosquito nets on all windows and good-sized terrace for a perfect evening accompanied by glass of chianti and pecorino cheese. The whole property is self-sufficient, with water from the well and power from the sun solar cells. Walking around the estate, offers you breath taking views of surroundings and insights into the details, that owners built in all of the years of upgrading and putting their hearts into it. The pool is beautiful, very Tuscan like and surprisingly big and deep. Simonetta and Guido use up to date technology to manage and clean it. Our 4 years old, enjoyed every bit of it. There is no doubt, we’ll be back!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Simonetta is great hostess and cook, felt like home! Breakfast was homemade and delicious. We had dinner there as well..you don't want to miss that either, believe me! Room was perfect size, clean and beautifully decorated, the common areas in the house were so welcoming as well. Simonetta also helped us a lot with itineraries, where to go, which route to take, etc. Recommended 100%!
Cons: We liked everything!

The owner Dario was very helpful and assisted us with our baggage, and provided us with a lovely breakfast. I am happy to recommend Hotel Sabrina as a delightful and comfortable place to stay in Cortona
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Small hotel in a beautiful old building, managed by Dario the charming host, big rooms, clean, good breakfast, big free parking field just a few steps away.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a great location of Cortona - quiet end of the main street with free parking around the corner making it handy for our rental car. Staff were really helpful and gave us a number of restaurant recommendations. Room was clean with the bathroom being quite large (it had a bath which was a bit of a luxury!). Breakfast was nice (standard Italian) and included a proper made coffee.
Cons: The stairs were fine for us but would be an issue for those with limited mobility as there is no lift in the hotel. Cortona in general would be hard to navigate as majority of the town is uphill and very steep.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very Homely atmosphere and welcoming hosts Would go back again.
Cons: Better Shampoo and Soaps.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location and lots of free parking close by. Warm welcome on arrival and staff very friendly. Breakfast was good, coffee excellent. Good value for money hotel.
Cons: The 'Delux double room' I booked was very disappointing. Room 44 was not the spacious, luminous room with balcony/terrace as described.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is a good accommodation for some days.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and spacious rooms, good breakfast, very quiet and only short walk into Cortona
Cons: No aircon, but despite the 40° heat the fan was a great help.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Astonishing atmosphere (old monastery!), great views from the road to hotel, big and good breakfast, lots of bathroom facilities (cosmetics, shower cap). The hotel is about 10 minutes walk distance from the old city on Cortona.
Cons: Wifi is not stable within the area. In the room there is no air conditioning - walls are thick, so it was ok by 25 degrees, however not sure how it works in full summer. Coffee during breakfast is just disgusting, despite of this the meal would be purely perfect.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The view from the window. The experience of staying in a renovated monastery.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good location with parking which is great when traveling by car. Reception staff were very helpful. Breakfast was decent.
Cons: No airconditioning makes it extremely uncomfortable in the summer. Gardens need to be kept better to keep in line with online photos. Kettle in the room would be a bonus.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel at 10' walk from Corotona's old city center. It has a big garden with a an amazing view on the Tuscan plains. Breakfast is served in a room worthy of a castle.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing spot, walking distance to Cortona and overlooking a beautiful view. The receptionist was lovely and super helpful.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Stated above
Cons: A male staff in the evening was rude when l didn't know how many nights l wanted to stay. Mocked me and said l should figure things out. When I was leaving l wanted to sit outside and wait in the ftesh air for my ride and the lady gave me a hard time for not sitting inside . Insisted l eat earlier then the ten o'clock breakfast not to inconvenience the staff. Staff was arguing in the kitchen. The room , garden and view was nice for the price. Would not go back again. In a farm stay now with nice pleasant people.

Cons: The area was a bit quiet for us but perfect if you like this sort of thing.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: No parking at apartment, bed was extremely uncomfortable, there was a little fan in the room that was very old and noisy but without it the room was unbearably hot. The shower had no pressure at all and no hot water. The host couldn’t speak any English so no recommendations were able to be given on local coffee shops, restaurants or anything. WiFi did not work in our apartment either. Luckily we were only staying for 1 night and it was a last minute booking.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Where do I begin, the staff here are the nicest people you’ll ever meet. They are so friendly and helpful! As it was our honeymoon they upgraded our room to the junior suite which was incredible. The room was huge. There were lots of pots of sweeties around and a free mini bar. This is a very rustic style hotel and that’s just what we were looking for. I cannot recommend this place enough!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Villa Marsili is very beautiful. The rooms and the staff are amazing. The location is great. For me Villa Marsili is living the real Under The Tuscan Sun experience. Just and amazing place ! The view! The breakfast! The staff ! The beautiful rooms and attention to detail. This is my 7 time at Villa Marsili and will return again.
Cons: Nothing! Everything is amazing!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel that exceeded our expectations. Reception staff so friendly, professional and welcoming! They offered to valet our car for us which we weren't expecting and was a treat. We were lucky enough to be able to check in early (grateful, after a long flight from US), and got upgraded as they weren't full that particular night. The room we got had a fabulous view of the lake, valley and mountains beyond. Very comfortable room, well appointed and spotlessly clean, same as the rest of the hotel. Happy Hour in the lounge, with complimentary snacks with drink purchase. Front desk gave us a city map and great advice on restaurants, and listening to what we were looking for (a more traditional , local restaurant) - not just offering touristy spots. Breakfast was awesome and abundant in a lovely room, served buffet style but with eggs to order if you like. Everyone at the hotel was super friendly and nice, was the perfect blend of a small hotel's amenities with the personal approach of a Bed N Breakfast - would stay here again! Walk into Il Centro is a bit uphill but very pleasant, and several nice restaurants/cafes/bars to choose from near the main square. Felt very safe walking back to the hotel after 11pm. Cortona has a wonderful ambience, we loved it!
Cons: Nothing - all good!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at this hotel before and we booked it because of our previous experience. Our stay this time was as good as it was before. The breakfast buffet is to "die for".
Cons: No problems.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A stunning hotel with outstanding professional and warm staff... a wonderful experience in every way on our second visit. The rooms are superb, with gorgeous furniture, bathrooms are so well equipped with glorious toiletries, and the breakfasts are out of this world. Complimentary snacks at ‘happy hour’ and Vinsanto and Cantucci as one returns after dinner are so appreciated. This is truly a rare experience and we cannot recommend Villa Marsili highly enough.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is beautiful, comfortable and very well run by absolutely fantastic staff. The food was exceptional and every need was attended to.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Service and breakfast superb
Cons: Beds slightly too hard
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful, the rooms comfortable and the food excellent. BUT, the best part of the hotel is the staff. Marina and the front desk staff as well as the waiters were the most helpful wonderful people I have encountered at a hotel. So thoughtful and engaging and always striving to make their guests more comfortable. I will recommend Hotel Villa Marsili to everyone who travels to Cortona. Thank you Marina and staff!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The greeting staff parked the car, took our bags to our rooms while we went to lunch...Valentina greeted us as if we were old friends...the bar set out snacks before dinner and cookies after...beautiful...the breakfast is excellent...never seen so many choices and great food...Marina made sure everyone was satisfied with meal...will go back next year! Benissimo!
Cons: I sleep with my window open and the road in front is fairly close and a little noisy with motorcycles...but with window closed...no noise.

Cons: Sometimes warm water is hard to get!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: breakfast good ...situation fantastic
Cons: wifi reception
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, friendly staff, breakfast good
Cons: Furniture old, needs touch up. Size and position of TV not good. Previous guest’s items had still been in fridge. On the evening of our first day we got an automated e mail asking if we are happy and if we have any suggestions. We found this a great idea and answers this mail. What turned a good idea into a bad one was that we never got a reaction/response to it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and staff is wonderful.
Cons: Loved the property!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We had a very warm welcome from Matteo on reception who swiftly arranged for our car to be valet parked before leading us to our room. The hotel is in an excellent location - less than 50 metres from Piazza della Repubblica. All the staff were very welcoming - offering excellent customer service.
Cons: With the hot temperatures - around 37 degrees - the only criticism was that the air conditioning in the room was struggling to cope with cooling the room.

Pros: Fantastic city location
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming property, clean, close to main piazza and many good restaurants, professional service and best of all, large terrace and great views from our room!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a wonderful location, with spectacular views from the room and the breakfast hall. The hotel is a bit old but well kept. Everything was just perfect from cleanliness to friendly staff.
Cons: Everything was ok, no objections.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The views on the Camere side are amazing! Everything is maintained well. The breakfast room has an outstanding view. The hotel is close to a flat street that goes all the way to the Piazza, a rarity in Cortona, and a bonus if someone doesn’t walk hills well.
Cons: The rooms are small, but the views on the Camere side make up for it. The closet is behind the room door and small, the drawers are small and low. The breakfast had a lot of items, but nothing special. Coffee is from machines.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is fantastic and the breakfast was great. The staff are very helpful and friendly. I especially like the decor of the general areas.
Cons: The tv was difficult to see from the bed and maybe possibly firmer bed? The public parking is dark and unmonitored.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Very close to town. Located with a nice view. The bus to the train station stops in front of it.
Cons: It’s thoroughly average. We had a smell downstairs from our bathroom and the manager didn’t really believe us, he said it wasn’t from the fan. Maybe he was right but whenever someone in another room used the toilet we could smell it in our bathroom. There was also a general smell at other times in the hallway on. We stayed on floor six. We asked to be moved and were, on the same floor. The smell was not in that bathroom. Not sure they would have moved us if we hadn’t asked. It’s not worth the view.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel at a great location. Nice view from the breakfast room. Clean and very friendly staff. We'll definitely stay here again next year
6.3 Good
Pros: Our room didnt looked like 4 star hotel room. Room was quite old, small bathroom with noisy fan. No view from the room. Breakfast was from cheap products (ham, cheese, sausage). Hotel has perfect location for visiting historical city centre. Receptionists were really nice.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was central to everything , staff were friendly and helpful. Had a dietary requirement and also very accomodating with that .
7.5 Good
Pros: Location in the heart of Cortona, free parking 200m from hotel (automatic stairs), good breakfast (a lot of croissants, ham, cheese, prosciuto, really good coffee), clean towels.
Cons: Not the best view, Big noise (our room was under breakfast room), old decoration of room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The view - from the room and from the bed too - is amazing! The hotel is modern, the staff is very kind!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: third times there. Perfect location, friendly staff, charming structure. Some little minor importance details to be fixed don't change the absolutely positive evaluation. Will choose again.
Cons: Breakfast coul de little richer: few euros more in the room rate would avoid morning surprise of extra required for eggs, for exemple.
