Customer service was good, but we were given an old car
Pros: The counter staff at Budget when we picked up and returned the car were excellent. Pick up and drop off location was very convenient.
Cons: Car that we were given was old, the door on the driver side was sagging, it had a noisy under carraige and had 97,000 km, and was due to be retired in 3,000 kms, at 100,000 km. The standard for an economy car in Mauritius is also different and smaller than expected, it is more like an ultra compact car.

Got charged for changing low tire..
Pros: On airport site
Cons: While inspecting the car, we missed the fact that two tires were at low pressure. After arriving to my hotel, I changed the tire with the least amount of air. I then drove to the petrol station and fill all 5 tires. The next morning, all tires held the air. I left everything as is. Upon returning the car, the AVIS rep asked why did I change tire. I told him and he said AVIS policy is for the customer not to change the tire but rather call and they will bring another car out. I've never heard of this. The AVIS rep saw there was no damage to the rim or tire but AVIS charge me. I have no Mobile service in Mauritius so I guess I would of had to walk off the freeway to a shop to make a call, had I felt the tire give. Bad policy.

Don't waste your time
Cons: They didn't have a car available and we had to go through a third party agent.

Old and ready to fell appart car
Pros: Pickup and Dropoff was fast and OK.
Cons: The car was ready to fell appart. Very old and battered.
