I've been charged 8703 ZAR for a car I rented, whereas on the agreement, the expected charges were 3209 ZAR. I have no way to contact the agency.

The only issue was with the car. The radio display was too bright and could not be dimmed, making it difficult to drive at night (had to cover the display by holding something over it).

Falsely charged for insuranceThe car. And the competence of staff when you were working with those that were knowledgeable.At the time I picked up the car in George, South Africa, I specifically discussed with the agent that I did not need insurance as I had already bought it independently. And I did not sign a contract that included insurance. When I returned the car at Cape Town I. Airport, there was an attempt to charge me for insurance when I went into the office to get an invoice of my charges. There was an initial claim that they had to get George to approve removing the insurance but could not get anyone to answer there. Even the manager kept insisting that George would have to approve removing the charge. Finally a knowledgeable agent stepped in and noted that my contract had no signing for insurance and she knew how to remove the charge. None of this problem should have ever occurred, and I was only saved from a charge because I went in to ask for an invoice. I had been advised to do this by a friend who also told me that the rental car staff had recommended that you always do this in South Africa.
