Pros: Beautiful place!!! It was super clean and cosy. With a super warm welcome by the owner he was so helpful and friendly. He explains all with charisma and patience my boyfriend and I liked him so much! Also he said goodbye to us with a nice tradicional sweet from the island. I highly recommend 100% this place. Dayana and Jho
Cons: No complaints at all
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We would highly recommend esplanade apartments located in a beautiful location in Crete. The hotel was near safe sandy beaches and local family run tavernas that served excellent high quality but good value meals. Yiannis was a brilliant host, he has a wealth of knowledge of places to visit in the area and his warm welcome made our holiday. There is something for everyone in this location - walks, swimming, relaxing on the beach or by the pool, historical sites and close to the city of Chania but with the peace and quiet of a beach location. A great holiday made even better by Yiannis who is such a considerate host. We have stayed in many places round the world but he goes above and beyond to make your holiday one to remember. Thank you.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Giannis, the owner and everything else!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had a great time at Esplanade apartments! The rooms were very clean and cosy, with beautiful sea view. The local beach is near. Yiannis is a great host, kind and very friendly! He made our holiday more interesting. We came late and snacks were waiting for us in the fridge. If we ever come back to Crete, we would stay there again!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Yiannis, the hotel owner, is extremely nice and does everything for you to enjoy your stay and it makes you smile talking to him. Very clean rooms with a pretty modern equipment and very comfortable new beds inside. Highly recommended!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The host is extremely nice and I highly recommend! He helped us a ton! Stay here!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The apartments were very clean and newly refurbished. It is the perfect location if you want to spend your holiday in Chania and you have a rental car. The host, Yianis, is very friendly and he offers his advices when you need a good restaurant or a nice secret beach to discover.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We stayed at Esplanade Apartments from the 28th of August to the 4th of September and really enjoyed our holiday! Even though we arrived later than planned at the hotel because our flight was delayed, we didn't have any problem at the check -in. The apartment was spacious, very clean and had all the kitchen utensils described on booking. We got new towels every two days and the linen were changed twice. The owner is really helpful and kind. He gave us some really good beach recommendations and gave us even a snack for the car ride at departure!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Yiannis was a prefect host. We were recieved with very warm welcome. Yiannis gave us also nice tips what to see etc. On our arrival, we also found a very nice details in the fridge for the first days - basic breakfast, cold beers, local wine and raki :-) We enjoyed a lot 1 week in the apartment. All clean, new and modern. Even bathroom was equiped with basic amenities (soap, shampoo,...). We traveled a lot. It was having great location to explore the north-west part on Crete. Easy parking and quick acess from/to Chania airport (10mins by car). Recommended!!
Cons: Nothing to say here.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: the acommodation was really cosy, spacious and beautiful, we really had everything we needed, plus the owner was really kind and amazing. I would recommend this place for sure.
Cons: the beach was a little far away, but we´ve already knew about it so it wasn´t an unpleasant surprise. I would recommend to rent a car to visit some more distant beaches.

Pros: The breakfast and beatiful scenery on the terrace was really lovely
Cons: The parking area gives some difficulties in fact that the hotel is located up on the hill.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay at the Royal sun. Everything was fantastic, the staff was very friendly, from the front desk, the shuttle drivers and all the staff at the restaurant. The breakfast/buffet is great, with a lot of variety and they always have some local dishes which they change daily. The view from the hotel/restaurant and pool are is simply BEAUTIFUL! Please note this hotel is not in the city center however the shuttle service is excellent. They go to the city center every 30 minutes and the same on the way back. The last one of the night is at midnight which is perfect. They have free parking so the location, parking situation and shuttle service is excellent and extremely convenient if you want to go to the beaches during the day and then explore the city or have dinner in town. The location is very calm , beds are comfortable and the place was very clean.
Cons: Nothing, everything was perfect, you cannot get anything better for the price.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: We had an amazing stay in this hotel, the breakfast was excellent, great choice of food, deserts, drinks and fresh fruit. The view from the restaurant where the breakfast is also served was stunning, over the town of Chania and the sea. The pool facilities are clean. An extra bonus was the shuttle to Chania and back every 30 minutes every day. It was super useful when we didnt want to drive to the city centre and also could enjoy some wine without the worry to drive back.
Cons: The only point taken for facilities is the very small bathroom and the shower cubicle. The last two days the aircon didnt work
Excellent 10.0
Pros: A return visit to this fab hotel. Friendly and very helpful staff, lovely views down to the Harbour. Food excellent, plenty to choose from, fresh and home cooked. Reasonably priced too. Free minibus transfer down /back from the town. A really enjoyable stay once again. Thank you x
Cons: There is nothing not to like here!!
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Lovely views, so try and take a sea view and ask for rooms to the right (as you face the hotel), i.e. 301 - 310 as these have the views over the lovely pool area, across Chania and to the sea. Although away from the main town, they run a very frequent and well organised shuttle service all day and into the late evening that takes the hassle out of getting in and out of town. Breakfast is plentiful and varied, so something in there for all. Lots of parking. Staff very attentive and friendly. Rooms are a good size, beds are comfy, although the showers are cosy. Hotel is fairly small, so you don't feel like there's huge swathes of other tourists. International mix of clients, Brits, Nordics, French, German and Russian mainly - which reflects the profile of holiday makers across the island. Great pool, especially for those who like a proper swim.
Cons: For a 3 star hotel, and at the price they're getting pretty much everything right. If you need a non-dairy milk let them know in advance and they'll sort it out but they don't stock it as a norm
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing and helpfull staff. The view from the restaurant was amazing. Very reasonable prices for excellent food in the restaurant. Breakfast was good too, as well local as international food. Better than many 4-star hotels, highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing.
Good 7.0
Pros: Our 3 rd stay. Lovely location / pool. Great breakfast.
Cons: We paid for a sea view with balcony on this out 3rd stay. We got one, but the size of the bathroom was very tight, though well equipped. We were on the end of the corridor. Our room had the loudest of buzzing going on most of the time as the extractors for the bathrooms down the corridor were scrubbing on our external wall ( next to our headboards ) and in a hatch right outside our door. It was not apparent properly till we tried to get to sleep. Management could not / would not give us a quiet room saying they were full. We explained that this could not be allowed - a 2 day stay! Grudgingly they advised that they would turn off the fans/ equipment ( this was around midnight both days) but it would be a problem now because everyone’s bathroom would not refresh because of what we asked. Previously we had taken Executive rooms with sea view whilst this was a lesser room( with sea view.) To be honest it has made us think with care about going back, to this hotel which we honestly love from past trips. We have told many friends how good it is etc.... Another annoyance was that when we arranged for the courtesy mini bus to collect us in Chania at 10.45 pm and were at the pick up spot with at least 10 mins to spare, we were left standing . When we phoned at 11.00pm to ask if there was a problem , we were basically questioned as to were we sure we were there on time. No apology - we could just wait for the next one. Mix ups happen, though it was only at 10.15 we made the arrangement . Just saying sorry can be a way to sort a matter out, not trying to shift blame!!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We loved everything; the room, the view, the pool, the staff, the facilities and the lovely breakfast.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The Royal Sun exceeded my expectations. The pool area was lovely, the rooms were spacious and clean and the balcony was wonderful. The balcony was one of the biggest I've seen for a hotel with a wonderful view overlooking the pool, town and Sea. Would could be better? A huge bonus was the free shuttle to and from the old town of Chania every half hour. The shuttle was always on time and was so convenient, and was only about a 10 minute drive. The breakfast was more than enough with a beautiful outside eating area. We had exceptional service from Antonis at the front desk. He was so pleasant, kind, patient and gave us excellent recommendations for restaurants and beaches, etc,, based on our preferences. Antonis made our stay here exceptional and he should be commended! If I ever visit Chania again, I would not look anywhere else, I would stay here again without hesitation.
Cons: the lighting in our bathroom was a little dark.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Everything at the Royal Sun Hotel was fabulous from the breakfast to the facilities , meals and a view to die for .
Cons: While it is 15 minutes out of town the hotel shuttle is runs every half hour on time and on time

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything. Staff are lovely. About 10-15 mins walk to the Venitian Harbour. Nice breakfast served by the pool. Would not hesitate to stay there again. Beautiful place inside and out considering it's a 2 star. It's a very fancy 2 star! Lovely quiet pool area. The place in general is nice and quiet. Nice view of the pool from our room. It was our honeymoon so they upgraded us!

Pros: Fantastic apartments with kind and helpful staff, Chania is a lovely place and when we return we will 100% choice to stay here again! Short walk to the town centre but easily do able! Amazing supermarket literally next door and the breakfast you can book In for at the apartments is lovely!
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Great breakfast. Great staff.Great amenities.
Cons: The barking dog close by was the only concern.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The staff were so friendly and helpful. The location was practical. A big supermarket is just one minute walk from the property. Coffee shops, restaurants few minutes walk. Free parking at the street, but good luck with handling the driving of the locals ;)
Cons: We were 3 people staying at the apartment. The bedroom was comfortable. However, the third person had to sleep on kind of regular sofa that had a split mattress that wasn't that comfortable. Local channels on TV only, international channels were scrambled.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Really nice and quiet hotel!Nice and helpful stuff!!!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great room with living room/kitchen, bedroom and bathroom. Nice outdoor terrace and communal pool. Easy to park for free on the street right outside the hotel. About 15mins walk into the old town. Friendly staff.

Pros: Spacious apartment, we were welcomed with wine and fruit glass in the room, excellent view from balcony, very friendly host, Lena gave us valuable information, breakfast was good also.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Extremely clean, excellent staff and very nice sea view
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful views from the room and tarrace, good breakfast, amazing host, comfortable beds (they are usually much harder in other places we stayed), the little things such as complimentary bottle of wine and water, even bathrobe and slippers! Bit out of town but there is a bus stop right at the doorstep with a frequent service
Cons: If I had to be picky, there was quite annoying noise at night, whenever it was even bit windy like high pitched squeak which my bf discovered to be a flag! But we had some wine (complimentary in the room) and raki and we slept like babies :)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Amazing staff, very helpful and friendly. Some of the best I've ever seen anywhere in the world. Great room, very comfortable with a lovely view. Bus stop just outside the hotel to travel to town. Would definitely stay here again if in Chania.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Wonderful owner, great room and breakfast. Highly recommended.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This was my second stay at this location and I liked it even more than the first time! Lena is a gracious host and pulls out all the stops. Definitely try to get a second floor room as the views are impeccable. You should have a car if you stay here.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It was an awesome place! We wished to stay there longer! Highly recommended!
Excellent 9.2
Pros: One of the best sunset views ever. Very nice host. Only 10 min drive to airport, and another 10 min to the old city by car.
Cons: There is an awful Lidl on the same street, but otherwise it is a nice area.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The owner was exceptionally nice, and seemed to be always available. The view over Chania was worth putting up with some traffic noise along the road in front. Of course you can close the balcony door and turn on the air. Or perhaps ask for a room looking out the back side facing the rock cliff. The breakfast had lots of choices.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The owners and staff were super friendly; the room was cleaned every day; towels were also changed daily; and the view from the terrace is just amazing! Highly recommended!

Pros: Excellent pool. Really enjoyed breakfast and sunsets on the balcony. Only 8 rooms made the service very personable. Beautiful neoclassical architecture. Nice furnishings. And last, but certainly not least, all the staff we dealt with were amazing!
Excellent 9.5
Pros: Friendly staff and lovely en-suite rooms
Cons: Further than you think from the old town
Excellent 10.0
Pros: It was gorgeous and an excellent location to the old town of Chania. The staff was amazing and the kitchen staff was so kind. Would definitely stay here again!
Cons: The bed was very uncomfortable; felt like we were sleeping on a box spring instead of a mattress.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Villa Andromeda is a lovely building, the old Turkish embassy when Crete was a country in its own right, and an easy 15 minute walk into town. The suite we had was very spacious and comfortable. The pool area was lovely and the pool itself perfect. Breakfast and early evening drinks on the communal balcony were delightful with superb views across to the town. Many a lovely sunset was witnessed from here. The staff were amazing. Nothing was too much for them and everyone was really friendly and made our stay very special. We spent a wonderful 10 days at Villa Andromeda made even better by the wonderful staff. Thank you Anna, Zoe, Katerina and Irene.
Cons: Nothing, it was perfect.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: very pleasant and attentive staff. Good breakfast. Good coffee.
Cons: price was over our target budget.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Parking within the premises. Easy to locate. Wonderful view over the town and sea. Gorgeous sunset. Very nice swimming pool. Staff extra amiable, efficient, make you feel at home. Staff from the recepcion and staff that serve breakfast very friendly, polite and professional. Very nice terrace. Elegant and tasteful house. Comfortable , spatious and functional room. Breakfast is ok, but lacks cooked meal or cold cuts.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Great place to stay, good taste in the furnishings and decoration, great sea and coastline views. Breakfast can be served where you choose, from the terrace to the garden. Very nice pool in a beautiful ancient garden, I’m not a pool person but I really used it because it’s really worth while. The location is not very central but it’s a pleasant 20 minute walk to the center.
Cons: The information on the room views is not very accurate.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The breakfast every morning on the terrace overlooking the sea was fantastic. Lovely croissants, fresh fruit, toast and homemade jam. The location was great, overlooking the bay, with a seaside walk to the town between 15 -30 minutes away. There was lots of choice of excellent restaurants in Chania, many overlooking the harbour. The hotel pool in the lovely garden was great for swimming; there was a small beach nearby and others further away. The staff were all really friendly and helpful. We very much enjoyed our holiday in Hotel Andromeda and hope to return in the future.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Charming villa with history. Huge pool in an amazing garden. Great view on the sea and Chania from the terrace. Excellent breakfast. The staff is extremely nice and helpful. They provided recommandations and tips and helped for booking a restaurant and for finding other services. They were so kind to give me a bit more time in the bedroom as I had to have a professional interview by Skype. They offered us some drinks for our arrival. We definitely recommend this place to discover Chania and start any journey in Creta. Looking forward to coming back soon.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Good location, road a bit busier than expected, but soundproofing good. Liked style and design and cleanliness of the room and all public areas.
Cons: Some more dedicated parking would be helpful. There is limited roadside parking directly outside the hotel.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The staff absolutely first class. Cleanliness and servicing of rooms was superior to many hotels previously stayed I
Cons: Location was gutted from old town than expected
Excellent 9.2
Pros: - great staff, all very kind. Nicole (one of the ladies on the reception was super cool, very nice and always helpful!) Thank you, Nicole! - when we were doing our bookings we added a comment that we will have our honeymoon there. When we arrived, we had a bottle of wine and some complementary snack and a note wishing as all best in our marriage. it was very kind of the hotel - it showed they appreciate that they are part of our special moment. - room was wery well cleaned every day during our stay - the view from the terrace was nice - location from the hotel to the city center is only 15 min walk - breakfast was good with fruit variety
Cons: Our stay was great, the below list is just suggestion for small improvements: - place on the terrace to hang your clothes to dry ( something like retractable 5 line dryer would be nice to be added) - bigger refrigerator would be nice - we ordered pizza - was not very nice

Pros: Room was really good. There is on site parking. That's an important thing for Chania. Location is good for walking to the Chania harbor.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Loved this hotel so much we are going again next week. It is a short walk to Chania Village. Staff is great. The breakfast is outstanding. Just lovely
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Beautiful building, receptionist was friendly, professional and accommodating, dealing with our early arrival well. The general style and ambience was excellent. An easy walk from the town and good secure parking.
Cons: The only thing that let the hotel down was the poor quality of the bathroom towels.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: We only spent a night in Halepa Hotel and overall everything was ok. Clean and quiet room; bonus - the first kettle I find in a hotel room in Greece so that was a nice surprise.
Cons: Breakfast area very small for the number of tourists. You could have taken breakfast on the roof terrace though (there were trays provided). We requested a parking space but there were none left in the evening. Luckily there is a public parking area behind the hotel.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Breakfast. Very friendly staff. Nice location. Fitness studio. Roof terrace with possibility of drying clothes. Very clean.
Cons: We would prefer stronger coffee at breakfast. Ofcourse it can be refilled unlimited number of times.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The staff is amazing, friendly and very helpful. This is our third stay at property and love the hotel and location for charm and proximity to old town center.
Cons: We had twin ‘matrimonial’ bed(s) and would have preferred a single double mattress.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff Spacious room Ample and delicious breakfast Elegant facade and interior Lovely atmosphere Great car park at rear Excellent location for leisurely walk into Chania old town
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Staff is very friendly and helpful. Was not a problem to leave our car on their secured parking after the check-out for half a day while we took a strol through the city. Location is nice, they try to keep the atmosphere and interioir of the former embassy, which gives the entrance hall a certain flair.
Cons: n/a

Cons: Nothing..we loved it all

Pros: The hotel is in a quiet location with very beautiful sea views. The room is very spacious with a large terrace, it has everything you need - air conditioning, a kitchenette with a fridge, stove and electric kettle. The shop and the beach are 5-10 minutes away by car. The hosts Yannis and Ruby are wonderful! When we got a little lost on arrival in Stavros, Ruby personally picked us up by car and brought us to the hotel, where she treated us with cold lemonade and cookies, and in the room on the table was a drink personally prepared by Yannis from wine and local aromatic herbs .. It’s a pity that we stayed here just a couple of days!
Cons: Poor wifi connection in the apartment.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Apartments are spacious and comfortable. Lovely pool, never crowded. Amazing sea views. Good local restaurants and beaches within a short drive. Ruby and Yanni are friendly and helpful. Our fourth family holiday there.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Yiannis and Ruby were so nice and helpful and spoke excellent English. The hotel was in a very quiete and calm neighbor hood. The pool was big enough for a swim. The room was spacious with a nice terasse and even had a coffe maker!
Cons: Everything was perfect. But you need a car to go to the nearest shop or restaurant.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: This hotel is for those who wish to be away from all the hussle of the city of Hania. Staff are very friendly and the hotel is very clean.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Spacious, good views, very friendly and helpful staff and a fab pool.
Cons: The beds and pillows were very hard but other than that it was great.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Lovely place to rest, very quiet. Nice swimming pool. Staff and host very friendly, brought me to the airport withought charging. Close to the sea and beach.
Cons: Poor wifi connexion.
Good 7.9
Pros: The friendly welcome by the owner. The fact that we could stay over the check-out time limit.
Cons: Old fashion furniture. The place looks like needing a renovation. May be is also the impact of the end of the season. Freshening it up for the next season would be a bright idea!
Excellent 8.8
Pros: The room is huge with a small balcony. They also have a great pool.
Cons: The only problem is that we couldn’t have a couple need (queen). We had to sleep in 2 single beds.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Nice, very clean and quiet room. The swimming pool was very clean. The hosts were very polite. Professionals.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: The hotel is in a lovely historical building with a great atmosphere that makes you feel like a guest in an old mansion. There is a lovely garden out back. The breakfast room has stunning panoramic windows overlooking the sea and the breakfast itself is delicious - there are local pastries and homemade preserves, cheese and meats and fruit. The rooms are clean and cosy. The staff was incredibly friendly and very helpful, making us feel very welcome the whole time. The hotel is located in a quieter area of Chania and is about a ten minute walk to the Venetian harbour. There is a small rocky beach right across the road from the hotel or there is a sandy one on the way to the Venetian harbour, though here the entrance to the sea is down a stone staircase and most people leave their towels/clothes tied to the railing. We loved our stay at Doma hotel and would definitely stay there again.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We've stayed at the Doma Hotel before - it's an older building with a lot of history. the staff is great. rooms are clean. has a beautiful garden. it's across the street from the beach and has a great ocean view. it's a short walking distance to the harbor area where there are numerous restaurants and shoppes.
Cons: no complaints.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Location And the owners ladies They were so sweet
Excellent 9.6
Pros: What a wonderful stay! In Czechia, word "Doma" means "at home" and we really felt like that - kindly welcomed by wonderful staff! Atmosphere of the house is amazing, reminds a Hercules Poirot movie, but without the murderous drama. The apartment was always perfectly cleaned and maintained. We spent part of our honeymoon here and they even gave us the better class of room, with the balcony towards the sea. It was almost hartbreaking to leave!
Cons: Maybe the variety of non-sweet breakfast table could be a little bit wider, but that's a nitpicking.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Rare Delightful traditional hotel . Staff particularly charming, civilised and helpful . Perfect location in Chania , just 15 mins easy drive from the airport . Situated on the sea ( good for swimming from the hotel), with spectacular views and just a few minutes walk from good tavernas ( eg Cristianas). Very highly recommend.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: I love that the building has been family owned for 90 years. The ladies who own it are very kind and welcoming. I loved the balcony!! Words cannot explain how amazing the views are, not only of the sea but also of the city. Great location and very friendly staff. We enjoyed breakfast each morning as well. I would love to stay here again.
Cons: Very hard to find parking
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Great location. Amazing breakfast. Lovely friendly helpful staff. Good value for money
Cons: Just stayed 1 night. Room did not have any air conditioning only a large ceiling fan which made a racket when you turned it up.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: The great view from our room. the elegant hotel-- from the dining room to the sitting rooms downstairs
Cons: The curtain-less shower
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The ancient but well maintained building creates a positive atmosphere and you have a fantastic breakfast with a special view. The owners and the staff makes you feel at home, they takes care of you in a gentle way. And if you have the opportunity it is also interesting to speak with them.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Breakfast was very good. Location was quite good, though there was a busy street right in front of the hotel.
Cons: The room overlooked the busy street and was very hot. There was no way of blocking the strong hot afternoon and evening sun, which made the room very hot. The heat could have been blocked if there were timber shutters to the windows. However, there was a fan and air-conditioning, which did help to reduce the heat.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Fabulous location, short walk into the old town and great variety of restaurants right at the end of our street. Air conditioning was great, large bed with wardrobe, and large balcony.
Good 7.9
Pros: Friendly helpful staff. Good location.
Cons: The lock on the bathroom door was tricky to open from inside!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The owner is particulary kind!!
Okay 5.4
Pros: Location is really close to the sea and not far from the center of the city.
Cons: This Hotel has no view at all! Welcoming is so strange, cold and weird. felt like an unexpected intruder, not a hotel guest. Though I was the only guest at the hotel in the heart of winter and after the worst rain in the area for the last 100 years they did not offer even a small bottle of water or cup of tea. I have found in the same area other hotels at the same price with a beautiful sea view and afford normal hotel services. This was a really very bad experience!
Good 7.5
Pros: Location. Comfortable Big Bed. Fluffy Towels
Cons: Air Conditioner switched off on leaving the room - took a long time in the evening for room to cool down if you were out all day. A little noisy from room above.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very clean, good location and very friendly and helpful staff. I would highly recommend this accommodation.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Staff were very helpful and friendly! Room was clean and bed very comfortable. AC helped with the heat too
Cons: Finding a parking during our stay was difficult (we stayed over the weekend)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This hotel is a gem. Location is excellent and the owners Nikos and his wife are extremely helpful and run a great little hotel. Even their breakfast is delicious!
Cons: We loved everything!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Quiet, nice owners, good location
Cons: A short walk to the main drag- 5 minutes
Excellent 9.5
Pros: Location was excellent. It is a pleasant ten minute walk from the promenade and the city center; also, there is a public parking at 100 metres and plenty of free spots to park in the adjacent streets. Breakfast was excellent, the best we' ve had so far: filter coffee, fresh orange juice, fresh fruit, (delicious) greek yoghourt with honey, a boiled egg, a ham and cheese sandwich, bread with jam and butter, etc. The room was clean, comfy and spacious, and the shower was a wonder. Finally, the staff was superb. Hotel Filoxenia is a family- run hotel and they will make your stay better in every possible way (we thought we lost a credit card and the owner instantly offered himself to help with a phone call), and the will give you advice and useful tips about Chania and the surrounding areas, such as how to get to Balos without endangering the insurance of your rented car. All in all, we had a lovely time there and if we are ever back to Crete (and we will!), we will undoubtedly stay at Filoxenia. Σας ευχαριστώ!
Cons: The price was a bit high compared to other areas in Crete but perfectly fine for Chania in high season. Anyway, after staying there, we thought it was more than fair. We recommend it 100%!

Pros: Great location very close to the old town. Clean room. Lovely view from balcony. Good value for the money.
Cons: A lot of noise at night. Simple breakfast, which was not very well refilled with coffee, clean bowls and so on. One day the breakfast was packed away 20 minutes before closing time.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The staff were friendly and the location is excellent.Parking is plentiful in the surrounding area . The property offered excellent value for money.
Cons: This property would not be suitable for children or those with limited mobility. The bathroom could do with an upgrade ( fan, shower curtain etc).
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Location is perfect-sea views and a promenade full of restaurants. Ten minutes walk via the main marina, seawall, lighthouse to the old town which has many pretty quaint streets. On vacation it is lovely to see the locals swimming in the Cretan sea, sitting having coffee, all from a small balcony or just downstairs. Simple breakfast. I booked an early morning taxi to the airport with the lady who checked me in. They use their own taxi guy who is reliable and excellent-arrived 5.45 for 6.00am, courteous, super clean car, excellent service for an agreed and reasonable price. Rooms are small with not many amenities but with a newly renovated bathroom, (Price = location) but I would not hesitate to stay here again.
Cons: Breakfast was a bit simple but included in the price.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Verry nice place with amazing view. We were there just one night but it was really nice and we would wish to stay longer:))
Excellent 8.8
Pros: The location was fantastic and we could take our swim right outside the hotel in Crystal clear, calm water. Plenty of restaurants nearby. The staff was very friendly and helpful and they kept an extra bag for us in their storage room while we were gone for a week.
Cons: The room, bed, and bathroom were all very small. The breakfast was very limited and the coffee was terrible.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Brilliant location. Very friendly staff who went out of their way to help. The hotel is right on the seafront on the edge of the old town. There are a lot of reasonably priced bars at the front of the hotel. The food is great at the hotel. The breakfast is buffet style and small but sufficient. We had a lovely clean room with 2 balconies and views of the sea and the old town.
Cons: No shower curtain so the bathroom was wet and slippy after a shower. However this was atypical Greek bathroom.
Good 6.3
Pros: View
Cons: Very poor breakfast, old furniture..
Excellent 9.2
Pros: Location is great for exploring Chania, easy and free car parking very near by. Breakfast was OK and was lovely to sit outside looking over the water. Rooms a bit small but clean, a locely view from the balcony and with everything else we needed. All in all great value for money.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: The location was amazing and it was good value considering the location and other hotels in the area.
Cons: The beds were a little hard and the room is very small.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The sea view
Cons: Great location. Great room sea view, this was worth it.

Cons: Cleaning could be better
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Due to a 5 hour flight delay we landed in Chania at 1.30 am so this was a last minute booking to save us driving through the night. The charming couple who run this hotel waited up to let us in around 2.30 am. for which we were extremely grateful after a nightmare day.
Excellent 9.2
Pros: The staff were very friendly and accommodating and our room was much larger than we anticipated.
Cons: The kitchen had very basic utensils, plates etc
Good 7.9
Pros: Very good location for the Polytechnic University of Crete (walking distance) and lots of good shops and tavernas. Fantastic views to the sea and mountain, all the way to the NW mountains. There were no breakfast facilities at this time (November) but the proprietor kindly offered a cup of coffee and cake.
Cons: The air conditioning unit is too old and couldn't warm up the room properly (top floor, facing north, beginning November) Kitchenete facilities were too rudimetary and inadequate - too few cutlery pieces. Shower was too small and there was no proper ventilation.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Quite, clean, friendly, good prices
Okay 5.0
Pros: A place extremely noisy, not as quite as you mighy nead.

Excellent 8.5
Pros: Nice atmosphere. Optional breakfast is handy. Short walk from town with a great view of the ocean and surrounding hills.
Cons: This property has the worst wi-fi in Greece. It is slower than dial-up. Really unacceptable to have a property with limited internet access and very slow speed. Made it impossible to book flights, tours or make future travel arrangements.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Very clean and well kept hotel. The location is very good. Just a few minutes walk from the village. The pool is very nice and big for the kids to enjoy.
Cons: The prices in the hotel for food and beverages are absurdly high. The priceing felt very rude and like taken advantage of. 95% of guests are Swedish and all the staff are from Scandinavia.
Excellent 9.5
Pros: Lovely hotel, five minute walk to beach and pleasant town, which has restaurants and bars that despite being August wasn’t overcrowded. Would have preferred our hotel bar (pool only) to have stayed open a little later than ten, with maybe a little light music would have encouraged people to stay and socialise with each other.
Cons: As above.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Very nice hotel. Swimming pool amazing. Only one bar at the hotel this being the pool bar. Limited drinks available as seem to be only cocktails. Felt a little cheated as I paid extra for a sea view only to find that all the rooms had a sea view. Little bit cheeky!!!
Cons: Quite a walk to the beach especially on the way back as there was no street lighting .
Good 7.9
Pros: Great food excellent food very helpful front desk staff.
Cons: Very noisy in main rooms. Doors have to be pulled shut and echo down corridor as do sceaming children. Air Con noisy but needed to block out other noises. Net curtains meant no sleep without eye mask.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Good facilities
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The swimming pool it is really relaxing. The area around is great and there were always beds available (we were there the second week of September). The town is close (around 7-10 min walking) and there are great options of food available (from the cheap gyros (3 euro) to a nice dinner in the Lagos restaurant (around 35 per couple).
Cons: The breakfast could be better for the price they charge. There wasn't many options and there was a lack of fruits available. 10 euro is a bit much for what they offer (but bear in mind that you will eat in the comfort of the hotel and with wiew to the swimming pool, which is worth it)
Okay 4.6
Pros: the view from our room was very pretty
Cons: the bed was horrendous, i had back ache for the week
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Safe, clean, friendly. A family hotel. Perfect location, stayed round the pool in the day and walked into the bay of an evening to eat. All staff friendly and spoke English, though no British holiday makers there. Didn’t bother us at all. A professionally run place.
