This place was located next to the old port, where all the restaurants and stores are walking distance. Also I have to say that we had the best breakfast in their restaurant hotel. We had fresh orange juice, Greek coffee, omelette, bread, cake, fruit and everything was included with our room. I forgot to mention that we were welcomed by John the owner’s grandson with Raki (Crete’s local drink)down at the reception and also had a bottle of wine, crackers and chocolate waiting for us in our room. Our room was beautiful and had a bath tub with the best shampoo smell ever(yes it smell like honey). We totally love and recommend this place. Do yourself a favor and stay here. Friendly people, great location and amazing food.
Everything was perfect. I don’t like that is too far from my country.
The location was superb and the balcony attached to our bedroom overlooked the harbour and was a real bonus. We had breakfast outside at the restaurant attached to the hotel. The food was authentic, delicious and plentiful. The owner/manger, waiters and reception staff were friendly, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. The receptionist recommended a day trip to visit a monastery and into the mountains to see more of authentic Crete, which was a great way to finish the holiday. Highly recommended.
Nothing could have been improved - it was perfect
The Venetian Port in Chania is a gem and the Cretan Renaissance is an exceptional place overlooking the harbor. Our room, the Dolcetta Suite was huge, beautiful, comfortable and totally equipped. The window overlooked the harbor and lighthouse. Breakfast, in the restaurant downstairs, was wonderful and featured Cretan specialties. Service throughout was friendly and helpful.
We somehow missed the information on access to the hotel in the Old town. It is only by foot, you cannot pull up, drop your bags and then go to parking nearby, +/- 250 meters. Because of a sporting event, we had to park a kilometer away and walk with our bags. We managed in the end, but searching for parking and then a long walk was unexpected and disconcerting on arrival in the evening.
Incredible views! Directly overlooking the harbor. Fabulous breakfast. Large bathroom with exceptional spa bathtub. The place was very clean. Very friendly and kind front desk check-in and especially Andrea who checked us out. We will return if again in Chania.
The bed could be a little more comfortable if a topper were added. Pillows were heavy. Linen was clean and of good quality but the bedspread at the foot of the bed needs to be replaced, rather old and overly used. Coffee pot’s inside was very dirty. We did not choose to use it. Small details that could make this place exceptional with just a little extra care.
