They called and cancelled room on me even though I was given a confirmation number - at 8:30 pm the night of check in! I had to try and find a room standing on the street corner - totally unacceptable.
As an old firehouse, this hotel has great character and is a nice respite from typical chain hotels. The breakfast was excellent and afternoon wine was a nice touch. This hotel provides a wonderful experience for guests and is a very good value.
Parking was very tight
Friendly, eclectic, cool
The hotel, a former firehouse, has a beautiful feel. The very opposite of a cookie cutter chain hotel. The staff were very friendly, and the room was large and comfortable.
The location, in the center of Kendall Square, is difficult to park in. The hotel does have a small underground lot (which is great) but the fit is right. Despite a warning from front desk staff, we still managed to nick the front bumper...
Such creative design!
We went for the 4th of July holiday and felt so comfortable in the small and warmly decorated hotel. Being such a crowded weekend, we never felt overwhelmed due to the hotel being near MIT and no school in session over the summer.
Great location near MIT, near the MBTA station, hi
Friendly staff, great location, Wi-Fi hotspot in every room.
Cambridge, MA is a unique city with a lot of history. Nowhere offers an experience as unique as Cambridge quite like The Kendall Hotel at the Engine 7 Firehouse.
Every room at The Kendall is inviting and comfortable. Each one is uniquely designed with an “American folk art” theme and beautiful Victorian style furniture. Every accommodation has a bathroom with a separate shower and tub. The bedding is soft and inviting and the bath amenities provide the comforts of home. Each room and suite also has individual heating and air conditions control and windows that open.
Guests can begin every morning with a breakfast buffet. For lunch and dinner, guests can dine at The Black Sheep Restaurant and Bar which serves American style dishes with a fine dining flair. The décor follows the theme of the rooms with the added touch of fireman regalia. The lighting is warm, with natural lighting that is just as inviting as the food.
The Rooftop Retreat as a 24-hour business center and a Wine Hour every evening in addition to a beautiful view of the Cambridge skyline. This hotel is perfect for those who want to hit the town and explore all the Cambridge and Boston have to offer. Located near great public transport and beautiful scenery for a stroll, guests will be able to take in the scholarly history of Cambridge due to its proximity to both MIT as well as Harvard.
