acceptable if you are on a tight budget
Shower was actually hot in the morning, water pressure was good Cozy enough, radiators were on long enough to get the room to a comfortable temperature in the evening. Easy walk to downtown Cambridge, walkable to Cambridge science park.
No front desk, nowhere to leave luggage. Had to call to find out how to check in to an un-staffed accommodation. Room so narrow I could hold my arms out and almost touch the left and right walls at the same time. Dingy tablecloth over desk, felt like I needed to wash my hands after touching it. Wooden chair, no sofa or armchair (which wouldn't fit into such a tiny space anyway). TV about the size of a laptop.
Nice, clean house.
Bed uncomfortable. Breakfast late.
Reasonably convenient to town, very friendly. A very good, substantial breakfast with attentive service. Proprietor was helpful and pleasant.
may I suggest a little more attention to cleaning the shower/bathroom area? Areas of black mould were found on some metallic/plastic areas. Otherwise, everywhere was very clean.
A good quality guest house reasonably well situated for access to the centre of Cambridge. The staff were very attentive and the room well appointed with comfortable twin beds. The breakfast was excellent.
As with all Cambridge guest houses, it was overpriced. The shower/toilet while generally clean was a bit tired and needed a make-over. As Lantern House is situated just off one of the main roundabouts on the main ring road the room (at the front) was quite noisy and would be more so in the summer months with the windows open.
We were given a warm welcome and also advice on where we could go for a meal. We were pleased to be able to leave our car on the premises on the day we were leaving to enable sightseeing.
A comfortable night followed by a good cooked breakfast. A very good place to stay if just visiting Cambridge for the evening.
Comfortable clean room with amazing power shower. Also very nice to be offered fruits and yoghurt for a healthier breakfast.
The staff was very nice and their attentions very good, Good breakfast.
My room was very, very tiny. The coffee machine didn't turn on ever. The cup and the spoon I had in my room were dirty from one of the guest before!!
Wonderful breakfast. Very clean and comfortable. We had a lovely quiet room couldn't hear the traffic on the island nearby
nice people, uncomplicated
