Pros: Everything was perfect. If you are looking for a quiet and romantic place, then you are in the right place. Aii the small Details in the Room was very good. The Breakfast was also very good.

Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is located on a quiet street in the suburbs of Calais with free parking immediately across the road. The loft room was spacious, the bed comfortable and fitted with beautiful linen all all making for a good night's sleep. There was a sitting area with patio doors and balcony overlooking the neighbourhood. Our hosts were charming and offered us helpful advice on where to eat in the evening (restaurants about 10 minutes walk). Breakfast included a home made warm apple compote, boiled egg, selection of croissants and ham & cheese, served on china plates. As the house is only minutes away from the channel tunnel terminal this was a convenient and very pleasant end to our holiday.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was great with free parking outside the door and a short walk into town for restaurants. Lovely view over a green park across the road. Great breakfast in lovely breakfast room. The bed was extremely comfortable and a fan was close by which we used to cool us down at night. Lots of interesting furniture and antiques with all mod cons such as a modern shower. Tea and coffee facilities were available in the sitting area attached to our bedroom. A lounge was available downstairs with tv but we did not use this.
Cons: Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Michelin and Joël were welcoming, friendly and helpful. Our room was nicely decorated and comfortable. We slept well and enjoyed the excellent shower in the morning! Breakfast was very good with so much choice. Roadside parking for the car alongside the park opposite was very helpful. We enjoyed a pleasant and interesting half hour stroll in the evening to have dinner at the excellent Au Vieux Formeau restaurant.
Cons: We couldn't really think of anything we disliked.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location close to the town centre; very clean and our room in the loft was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was very good - recommended.
Cons: Nothing - it was hot with no air con so we struggled to sleep despite the fan provided.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful boutique property. Fantastic breakfast. Lovely hosts, we were made to feel very welcome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is perfectly placed for a stop in Calais. It has free parking outside. The accommodation (suite) is excellent. The owners are lovely and very welcoming. The breakfast is generous and very good - we had baked apple; unusual? yes; delicious? absolutely.
Cons: Whilst we were staying one night only, we were in France for two weeks, so we had a lot of luggage. It would have been good to know we were on the 3rd floor, in advance, so we could have re-arranged our packing; three large suitcases, up three flights at 68 years of age, with a dodgy back is a challenge.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an elegant townhouse with lovely period features in a convenient part of Calais, handy for restaurants, shops, the beach and of course the ferry terminal. The welcome was friendly and helpful and the room - the suite - was spacious and comfortable. We had one of the best breakfasts ever with yoghourts, cheese, ham, croissant and bread and more. Best of all was a dish of baked apple, Normandy style. It’s a great place to stay and excellent value.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Since we were accompanied our son to the University in England and it was our overnight stop before we embarked next morning on ferry, I would say it was most pleasant stay we could even imagine! We felt as we were visited close relatives, great apartment on the top of house, small details with great taste, breakfast would please even very choosy one! Without any doubt hotel should stay highly recommended!
7.3 Good
Pros: Everything was great exceptionally clean room even had a dvd player
Cons: There is a beautiful spa bath / steam room in the bathroom but because the room is so high up there is no water pressure
7.7 Good
Pros: Owners were pleasant and made us feel welcome. Great location next to park. Room & breakfast were excellent value for money.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: As we are a family of 5, good famlyrooms are something we treasure. This little B&B has the best familyroom we have stayed in! We felt right at home. The convenience of a kitchenette and seatingarea combined with the rooms fairytale-romantic air provided a perfect mini escape for us and our 3 kids. Thank you very much for having us in your beautiful home;)
7.7 Good
Pros: The warm welcome, friendly hosts and interesting room.

Pros: Isabelle was a gracious host. She was kind enough to call a cab t pick us up at Avis when we turned in the car and to take us to the ferry when we left the next day. The breakfast was very good and we enjoyed talking with other guests during breakfast. There is no lift and the stairs are curved which could be a problem
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely building and gracious host who was very helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quant boutique hotel ideally situated near bars and restaurants. Isabelle (the owner) couldn’t have helped more, a wonderful woman. Breakfast was excellent too!
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The fact that it was right in the centre of Calais, down a street, with easy parking outside and also the choice of secure parking if requierd this was at 10euro extra a day but if you park all day out side its about that anyway. you could walk almost in any direction and come to the attractions of the city. if you like shopping you can drive or take the bus to the big shopping centre about 15-20 mins drive or same on the bus which is only 2.20 euro return. there is also a little bus that runs round the city, this is free . If you do not like to walk far this could be for you . all information is given by the host when you arrive,
Cons: All i can say is if you want a lift, a TV a Radio and all the comforts of a 5 star hotel then this is not for you. the stairs are a nice old winding spiral up to the fist and second floors 43 for the first floor and 56 to the second.so a bit of climbing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a lovely anniversary night at La Cle d’Opale and Isabelle had even scattered rose petals on the floor to make it special for us. We had a tray of food and wine in our room which was delicious and plentiful and the bed was extremely comfortable. Breakfast was great, my husband had a delicious omelette and there was plenty of cereal, croissants etc to choose from. Great little find. Had a wander round the local market and around the town, great atmosphere and nice people. We would love to stay again.

Cons: Very dark inside, low ceilings in some parts, no proper shower only a handheld shower over bath, breakfast was very basic.
6.8 Good
Pros: Location good. Breakfast adequate.
Cons: The stairs were dangerously steep and very poorly lit. In order to create the illusion of being in India, some of the soft-furnishing was uncomfortable and a lot of the furniture was unnecessary/unusable/not fit for purpose. The T.V. was useless.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was very spacious. Indian decor was really cool. Hostess was super friendly!
10.0 Excellent

9.3 Excellent
Pros: This is a Holiday Inn. But the rooms are larger and better equipped than many in this chain. The site is good, set in the country and a pleasant large surrounding garden, yet within easy reach of the Terminal, and Calais itself. The design of the building is unique, It is not an ugly, modern box. The pool and gym are well run, and easy to use. The staff in the restaurant have improved their service since our most recent visit a few weeks earlier ( when we had occasion to criticise ). We find it a most comfortable hotel.
Cons: We are happy to report that the serious criticisms we voiced in the review we submitted following our previous visit a few weeks previously whilst on our way South, had been amply met, and no longer apply.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is conveniently placed, the staff spoke excellent English and are very efficient.
Cons: The bath towels need to be bigger
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
7.5 Good
Pros: Good location, friendly staff and good facilities. Swimming pool nice if small
Cons: Dinner in restaurant was over priced, service was so very slow - took an hour from ordering to get any food. Complained and dinner bill was waived.
7.5 Good
Pros: Stayed several times before for proximity to Channel Tunnel, it's clean, has family rooms, is of the standard you would expect
Cons: They could make tea and coffee in the morning...I expect a machine in a Holiday Inn Express but the coffee was poor and the water for making tea tepid, I don't mind self service breakfast but with a proper cup of tea of coffee (in France...the French like coffee don't they!!!). Also the fire doors...next to which our room was situated...were very noisy...perhaps a bit of oil would have fixed the to a degree.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The grounds were great for the dog to have a good run around. And we could sit outside on the terrace while the kids played ball in the garden. Pool and wifi also very good !
Cons: The building is starting to look a little tired on the outside.
6.3 Good
Pros: Decor in the reception, bar and dining room was modern and comfortable. Food was good for dining and breakfast.
Cons: Most disappointing was the fact that the air conditioning did not work in our room, which made it too warm and very uncomfortable to sleep in especially as we were a family of four sharing. Some of the corridors and other areas of the hotel looked a little tired and need of an upgrade to the level of the reception.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent check-in with Etienne. The room was excellent and very quiet. Dinner from the recommended set formule was delicious and the service good. Breakfast was full of choice and good. We will return.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location next to the tunnel. The bar and restaurant open quite late if yo are travelling
Cons: Nothing

Pros: The room was newly decorated with a big comfy bed, the owner was very welcoming and helpful and the hotel is in a lovely location by a park in the centre of Calais.
Cons: The property is being renovated at present so some parts of the hotel are not of the standard I would expect but the room was lovely and the bed really comfortable. Also there was no lift so we carried our bags up to the 3rd floor. We’re able bodied though so not a major issue. I should add that I think the decorative issues are reflected in the comparatively low price at the moment.

Ideally located, the Ibis Styles Calais is in the heart of the city, near the sandy beach and car ferry port, 500 m from the TGV station and close to the Eurotunnel to England
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff Hotel & Room Decor Comfort of Bed Variety at Breakfast Also, that breakfast included in the price
Cons: Level of noise from street Unable to sleep, despite fact had shutters fully closed and window shut Did write to hotel manager directly to complain after stay, and was told rooms are being soundproofed, but this room not done yet and all quiet rooms already allocated. Could not recommend staying here, despite other positive factors unless you have a guarantee of a fully soundproofed room
6.3 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good - the room was clean and comfortable - the staff were pleasant and helpful.
Cons: there was no air-con, just fans to blow the hot air around - we could not open the windows as we were on the front of the property and the noise was too great! Calais is not a nice place - drunk people and rough sleepers just outside the hotel - not a nice place to take your family. Street cleaners do their best to clean up but Calais is just so run-down, tired and in need of serious investment.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location, plenty of restaurants- really helpful staff.
Cons: But if a meander to get to our room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location 5-10 mins walk to local restaurant and pubs 15-20mins to Eurotunnel- by car

Cons: Size of room, challenging to store the luggage
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast great, room big and comfortable, excellent location, for Eurotunnel.
Cons: The fan was too small. For summer an air con is a must or at least a bigger fan especially in a family suite. Also parking was full so we had to find parking on the road.
6.8 Good
Pros: The location
Cons: I was put in a disabled room and the room wasn't to the usual Ibis style.
5.5 Okay
Cons: No air conditioning , had to pay to park, bad breakfast, very uncomfortable beds for children, no tea and coffee in room
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was really good, staff very responsive and helpful and breakfast was good. Rooms were clean and bathroom very accessible. No problems with WIFI and very good restaurants in area.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very close to the ferry port
Cons: Birds scratching at the roof from 5 in the morning leading to very broken sleep
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Central position leaves easy access to all services, but parking near the hotel is impossible. Luckily we reserved one of the few private places the hotel has at the back of the hotel (ask for directions to parking beforehand)
Cons: The room was much smaller than typical Ibis rooms, and some people end up in an annex to the main building.

4.3 Okay
Pros: The staff
Cons: It was dirty . Hair in the Bathroom and even on the towel . Expensive for what it was
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Handy location. Clean. Good value.
Cons: Initially disappointed with look of building but main entrance was round the corner.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed for one night before our ferry crossing in the morning. This hotel was slightly more expensive than we have previously paid, but well worth it. Really nice spacious bedroom with a lovely clean shower room including toiletries. Tea and coffee available in the room which was appreciated. Great communication with the hotel and the staff were professional and friendly. Although you could pay 13 euros to park inside their private car park, we chose not to and parked right outside the hotel for free. It was just a short drive to the ferry port in the morning. A pleasant 10/15 minute walk into the main area where you have plenty of bars and restaurants. All in all a great stay.
Cons: Nothing. We didn't eat in the hotel so can't comment on that aspect.

Cons: One room: Looking out of the window directly onto a wall :-( Other room was ok. Thin walls, you can hear you neightbour snoring. Breakfast only available on the room and starting at 08.00 am - too late for us

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accessibility of the car for my 4x4 and trailer
Cons: Great hotel for the money but my only concern is the security as I had to go out to the truck because of the vagrants trying to break into it.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Close to ferry
Cons: No English speaking TV programs. No warm food for breakfast.
7.5 Good
Pros: cclear info when ask in english
Cons: all was good
5.8 Okay
Pros: This hotel is ideally placed for a travel stop off. People we met during our one night stay were there for the same reason, either stopping off before heading home or moving on. It`s a compact hotel but fit for purpose. The small restaurant served up the best vegan burger EVER.
Cons: Like I said, it is compact and fit for purpose. It`s not a place I would want to spend a few night in but was perfect as a travel stop off point.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location Friendly staff
Cons: Bed uncomfortable. Room too hot. No kettle or cups so not able to have a drink. Bed sheets stained. Pillows uncomfortable. Another guest had a dog and with wooden flooring all you could hear was it walking around
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and staff were excellent
Cons: The rooms were very hot so we left the window open. Didn’t realise how noisy other residents could be in the night arriving and leaving

6.8 Good
Pros: Small shower and breakfast was expensive
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Expensive breakfast £9.00 for continental there didn't look much on it so we ate elsewhere for less than half the price. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: The stairs and corridors they looked like they hadn't been vacuumed for weeks' I had to send my evening meal back as it was cold. The replacement wasn't much warmer.
6.8 Good
Cons: I have stayed here over the last 15 years. The restaurant has gone downhill. The tv reception was none existent. It is ok for an overnight stay.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location was very easy for the ferry or the tunnel and the poor over worked staff were surprisingly cheerful. The food was good. Definitely a budget hotel
Cons: If you a not keen on sharing a hotel with dogs do not stay here! I am surprised that hotels still allow dogs to stay in guests bedrooms - surely not hygeinic! In the evening the young guy on duty was the receptionist as well as waiter to around 8 tables in the restaurant - he worked his cotton socks off - they need more staff. With a total revamp, more staff and a ban on dogs would make this great little hotel/
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, convenient location, comfortable beds, clean room.
Cons: Poor breakfast.
7.5 Good
Pros: The friendliness and helpfulness of the overworked one person on duty left to cover both reception and the restaurant after 7pm. The amount of staff on duty when we left for our ferry in the morning was noticeably increased. The location of this hotel is excellent for the ferry terminal.
Cons: The facilities in the room were adequate but .... the shower head would not stay raised resulting in the shower only directing at our chests, backs and the bathroom floor if we moved. Very difficult! Also, it was very difficult for the waiter/receptionist to perform both duties adequately resulting in waits in both places.
6.8 Good
Pros: The staff were all charming and helpful . Despite us arriving late, reception were friendly and kind , and the bar was open til 0200 !
Cons: Sadly it is on a main road and it was very warm in the room . And with the window open it was very noisy
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to Eurotunnel. Bar was well used by all due to heatwave. Outside shaded seating area.
Cons: Service for restaurant was poor. Not fault of staff. Only one person to deal with guests arriving, serve at bar, take food orders, serve food and clear tables.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Interesting meal choices in their restaurant. The room was surprisingly quiet and perfectly adequate for an overnight stay.
Cons: Not a complaint, but access to the hotel is off a dual carriageway so you need to be on the correct side of the carriageway to enter. Once you identify the entrance it isn't difficult to get there as the short stretch of carriageway has roundabouts at each end.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast
Cons: Different to find the car park No Air Conditioner but hire fan is 10€
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: The only good thing about this hotel is location, very close to Calais. Other than that it is absolutely a NIGHTMARE 1. There is NO air-conditioning or fan and we arrived at the worst heat day. Imagine sleeping there while it stayed closed all day without ventilation. 2. The shower is horrendous. Dirty and there are cockroaches there. The water doesn’t drain in the shower itself and there is no ventilation. 3. The breakfast is nothing but a waste. Not much in there, an only good thing is a croissant NEVER AGAIN STAYING THERE
Cons: Location
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent, convenient for travel from/to Euroturnel.
Cons: None
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean and functional room, central location, fuss-free and attentive service...
Cons: Fifth-floor room on main road was noisy in evening and morning and lack of ventilation it stuffy in the summer.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This was our third stay at the hotel, and I've found the staff to be great - responsive to emails, but also proactive, helpful and friendly during our interactions. One of them in particular helped us avoid our car being towed when we hadn't seen the (not very clear) notices that the main Boulevard was "exceptionally closed" for an event on the 14th July, which we very much appreciated. In addition the rooms / beds are comfy, with effective double glazing and blackout blinds to aid sleep in what is otherwise a busy city centre (especially due to noisy seagulls). It's a short drive to the ferry port, so is a very convenient location for us.
7.0 Good
Pros: Great location. Close to shopping and channel tunnel.
Cons: Very loud rooms even with the windows closed
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, parking on street near by for free and only a short drive from ferry terminal. Clean room and comfy bed.
Cons: No AC if it's hot.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We travelled with 5 people. It was very good that there was a kind of double room with 3 beds in total with one main door. The person at the check-in was vey polite!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location and good value.

Pros: Friendly staff and good location!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We stayed here 2 years ago so did not hesitate in booking this hotel again when staying overnight in Calais We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel again which is in a nice central location near Richelieu Park and the Cathedral. The hotel has a wonderful “Olde Worlde” character. Our rooms were clean, quiet with comfortable beds. On checking in, the young lady on reception was very polite and efficient and directed me to the car park. The hotel has an underground car park which is spacious, easy to access and has a lift to the rooms. We enjoyed breakfast which was plentiful with nice hot and cold choices. The staff were very friendly and polite and made us feel welcome. We will definitely stay there again.

2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Literally nothing. It’s a dump.
Cons: This property is an absolute dump. It’s so far beyond acceptable there are almost no words. It is literally falling down and disgusting with filthy floors. The management clearly exploited travelers stranded in Calais (due to multiple train, ferry and airline delays and cancellations) with overpriced rooms. This is not a hotel, it’s shabbier than a hostel and looks more like a brothel. The only redeeming quality was a moderately helpful staff member, but this place should not be listed on any website. It’s disgusting. This place shouldn’t be allowed an operating license.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Just the location that it’s easy to get to the harbour
Cons: It’s dated, condition and cleanliness. Towels from previous guests left behind. Remote was not working. Holes on the wall. Bed was collapsing. Expensive breakfast that looked sad, you’re better off going to nearby bakery.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Condition of the building
4.3 Okay
Pros: Nothing special. Overpriced.
Cons: The noisiest room I have ever stayed in. The windows open onto a busy square where there were people talking, shouting, laughing literally all night long. We arrived on the hottest day of the year so it was impossible to sleep with the windows closed... And impossible to sleep with them open!
4.5 Okay
Pros: The location of the property was right alongside the town square, with lots of restaurants and the clock tower, behind it was the dockside and a nearby fun park. There was nothing to pay for parking.
Cons: When we saw the room, there was basically just a double bed and a bunk bed. The shower had a durty curtain, there were no other amenities of the sorts otherwise and there were some nasty stains on the carpet.
6.8 Good
Pros: Staff and location
Cons: not very clean, no fan, light nxt to bed, open wires, very dirty carpet... looks that there was no real re-investment for a long time
7.5 Good
Pros: Amazing location. Close to everything. and staff going out of their way to help you.
Cons: Carpet was very, very dirty and no air conditioning and the worst no tea or coffee makin facilities.
3.3 Mediocre

7.5 Good
Pros: Really close to the ferry
Cons: A little noisy outside at night due to restaurants and cafes

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was very comfortable, it was the best sleep I had had in weeks.
Cons: None of the lightbulbs worked, the only thing in the kitchen that I could use to make foor was the microwave. Some neighbours told me that there was a TV in the room, but it had gotten stolen due to the window being open all the time. The cutlery was all sticky and I had to wash everything before I used it to make food.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: It was awful
Cons: The room was dirty with broken blinds, toilet, chairs and wires dangling. There was mold in the bathroom and although there were 4 of us - which we specified when booking there was only 2 towels. The shower was so small it was barely usable and we are average sized people if you were a little larger then you’d be stuck with out a way to wash. The toilet seat was broken as were the blinds and the beds were the noisiest things I’ve ever slept on! There possible was a tv at some point but there were just wires hanging. The walls were dirty, there was dents and holes. It was very run down and for the money which was extortionate I was shocked. Please please avoid - whilst people still book they can get away with providing such a dreadful environment
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: the location.
Cons: every time I tried to switch on the cooker, the power went off. I think there is a problem with the electricity supply. Besides that, the catering materials are indecently maintained.
2.5 Mediocre
Cons: Not clean, hair in the shower, dust in the kitchen
3.0 Mediocre
Cons: It looked like something out of a horror film. I did not feel safe here, I only stayed for an hour, left and slept in my car. There was no light In the bathroom, no toilet roll, toilet seat was broken, the shower was broken in more ways than one and held together by duck tape. The tv didn’t work, the windows in the kitchen area were broken again, in more ways than one, there were holes in the walls, a wardrobe with no doors on, the pillows were like pancakes - it was awful and it wasn’t cheap either.
6.3 Good
Pros: The bed was comfy - I slept very well; the shower was good and hot and easy to control; the room was very quiet
Cons: The room (and hotel) was in dire need of cleaning, maintenance and renovation.
6.3 Good
Pros: Ok for the cheap price, excellent admin, check procedure etc. Walking distance to amenities. Bed lined was very clean and fresh
Cons: Room decor was crubby in need of update.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Very dirty place no security they were cheated me
Cons: Dirty place
4.5 Okay
Pros: The Hotel was near to the ferry, that was great.
Cons: The complete room was dirty! We saw in each corner mould! It´s not good for the health! we arrived in the room and found a loose toilet seat. The man on the reception was helpful with this problem, but we don´t understood, that this was not done in advance. We will never book this room again.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location was good
Cons: It was dirty and had a cold shower and no light on the barroom
