Located in 9 de Julio Avenue, this hotel is within a 5-minute walk of Obelisco and Teatro Colon. Buenos Aires Metropolitan Cathedral and Cabildo are also within 15 minutes.
Pros: NothingCons: Don't stay at republica hotel!!!
The photos in the site are fake, the real pictures are from a different rooms all together. the room was small(there was no space to open our two suitcases) and old. Blankets was torn sheets was dispicable. We wanted to upgrade our room but the lady from the reception told us there aren't any rooms available even though we saw one on line. For conclusion the hotel is old smelly and it was our worst expirance off our month travel.
On a budget OR Not Planning on Spending Much Time Pros: Central location, met all my needs, helpful staff, clean, extended services such as spa services in the lobby. Perfect for me who does not like to spend money on a room when only going to be there long enough to sleep. Nice room, own bathroom, air conditioning, easy access to rest of city via subway, buses, taxis, walking, etc. Shampoo, soap, etc. provided everyday. Amenities refrigerator, room services, restaurant & bar . . . Cons: For those of you who want posh then you might choose something different. I liked it very much. The only reason I indicated comfort as "good" instead of "excellent" because it is not a posh hotel, but it is very comfortable.
Pros: Very convenient Close to public transportation Cons: A little bit noisy due to proximity to a very popular spot(Obelisco)
Cheap, but not worth itCons: I had to pay for WiFi -- every day I had to go down to the front desk to get a little slip of paper with a new username and password, which expired within 24 hours. I couldn't even buy multiple slips at the same time. The WiFi sucked anyway. I couldn't watch videos or make phone calls. Also, some of the staff at the front desk were a little rude.
