Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very convenient location, good breakfast and easy parking opposite the hotel
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Location Very clean Rooms basic but satisfactory
Cons: No tea making facilities in the room
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Close the the city center the hotel is located a rather busy street corner with many restaurants and bars. Clean room and very friendly staff. Despite COVID-19 the breakfast was excellent with good products.
Cons: Room roadside maybe less quite during weekend evenings due to bars nearby with live music.
Excellent 9.6
Pros: A comfortable and tastefully furnished boutique hotel, with welcoming staff and a good breakfast buffet. A wonderful little cafe bar as well. Highly recommended.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very comfy bed. Free parking over the road. Clean towels every day. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nice bar on the ground floor.
Cons: More hangers in the cupboard. Somewhere to put soap and shampoo in the shower. Nearly 10 euros a lot for breakfast.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The reception staff were absolutely brilliant. Very friendly and professional and gave great information on restaurants and bars to visit.
Cons: We did ask for a quiet room which was translated as wanting two single beds for some reason. Which the lovely lady on reception changed for us but the room given was a bit noisy at night as it was on the road.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: 52 euros, just unbelievable price. I had eye problems and staff were extremely helpful. 9.50 euro breakfast was just swhat the Dr. ordered.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Like our previous stay, location, rooms, breakfast, all really good. We will stay again.
Cons: We didn't appreciate being locked out of the hotel at 11.30pm for 15 mins. Attempts to call the "appel nuit" just went to the answerphone. Another guest also locked out had to call his daughter from her room to come down to the reception and let us in. This shouldn't happen, needs reviewing!!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great location, very clean and modern, friendly staff, good breakfast.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely old hotel which although modernised had some pockets of charm. Large suite with plenty of space. The hotel has very helpful staff who couldn’t do enough for us. Wonderfully convenient location for exploring the centre of Breve la Gaillard and then catching a train the next morning. We couldn’t have been happier. A very lucky find.
Cons: Contemporary style decoration. It was a shame that they hadn’t kept it in its original style but it was clean and fresh so not a real complaint.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very good measures against COVID in place, hotel was clean and quiet.
Cons: Only opaque curtains, no semi-transparent curtains in place to block the view from outside but still have light
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Lovely clean and comfortable rooms. Great position for train travel and easy parking for the car.
Cons: Nothing- this was an excellent place to stay for a night as we were travelling.

Good 7.0
Pros: typical continental breakfast, ok
Excellent 9.6
Pros: Clean and comfortable room. Close to the train station. Andrea, the owner, is really nice and helpful.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Owner provided a warm reception. Breakfast included homemade yogurt and jams, plus fresh grapes from the terrace. Great quiet place to unwind for first stop.
Cons: Everything met or exceeded our expectations.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Hello, the staff simply excellent, the landlady was very kind, the atmosphere of the hotel was warm and nice, clean and comfortable. I recommend it for a couple or with family.
Cons: Just to say something to improve was the Bathroom was a little old and narrow.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Yes, as I could not manage any stay in this Hotel (because of sncf strike) without being refund, I say that the hotel was excellent by default. To the contrary the booking management has a huge opportunity of improvment !!!
Cons: See above
Excellent 8.8
Pros: What we liked most about this hotel was Andrea herself. She is a wonderful and caring hostess and, even though she didn't speak English and we don't speak French, she made our stay more than comfortable.
Cons: Nothing - It is what one would expect in a 2 star hotel
Okay 4.2
Pros: The host, Andrea was nice, the breakfast setting was lovely and you could see that effort had gone in to the preparation of the breakfast as a whole.
Cons: Hotel is misleading. Its more of a bed and breakfast/hostel vibe. On arrival the building was closed (5pm) and it seems that normally check-in is open at 6pm. The room had a shared balcony which was annoying as the other couple were smokers. No air conditioning but plenty of mosquitoes - so we slept sweaty and hot. No fridge in the room, couldn't get on the WiFi or find any details of the facilities and local area in the room. Carried all the bags up two flights of winding, narrow stairs as well. Just not equipped properly as a "hotel". The breakfast room is really nice and the host had prepared breakfast freshly and made me an omelette BUT the downside is that its not that good a breakfast compared to even the most basic self-service continental breakfasts offered in hotels typically, and the coffee is really bad as the machine isn't cleaned properly, or possibly ever as the burned oil taste was very dominant. And its extra on the room. So we paid for, and expected to find a hotel but this is definitely NOT one.
Okay 5.8
Pros: The staff were excellent, very friendly. It was hot in the hotel and as soon as we arrived the lady went and got us a fan.
Cons: I didn’t like the fact that the toilet was à macerator amd was very noisy. The shower door didn’t close properly and the water leaked over the floor. The shower had no hook so you had to hold it in your hand. Also the bed had no pillows, only a bolster.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Wonderful hosts, Andrea was so much fun (as was Leo!). Excellent restaurant recommendation. Great breakfast with superb Italian coffee, wonderful croissants and bread with delicious salty butter and home-made jams and cake! We were lucky to able to enjoy sitting outside in the charming garden picnicking in late autumn sunshine - happy days :)
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Secure parking and location
Good 7.0
Pros: location close to motorway. Lots of places to eat. Area looks to be very safe. Hotel has staff on site all night.
Cons: Breakfast was disappointing for the price. €7. Scrambled egg was like chewing rubber, had probably been cooked very early and by 9:0am was well past its best. One very poor quality toaster. very poor choice of fruit, only apples left.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very clean comfortable large room
Good 7.9
Pros: Basic comfortable hotel at a fair price. Chap on reception polite and efficient. I have stayed before and will stay again.
Good 6.3

Excellent 8.0
Pros: A very clean and comfortable hotel.
Good 6.0

Excellent 9.6
Pros: Helpful people (when we asked for guidance on places to see along the Dordogne), informal feeling, good location
Cons: Noise from road outside window in the morning, but ok with window shut.
Good 6.3
Pros: Clean and quite comfortable. Outside bar area at the fr
Cons: Hotel is lacking in character and is very basic. No balcony.
Excellent 9.5
Pros: Nice large room with a balcony, although there was some building work going on nearby it was no problem parking. The location was excellent, just a short walk into the old town and plenty of restaurants nearby
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The area was confident for a stroll around the area,
Cons: Th breakfast area, all the tables had been previously used and not cleared, no coffe machine, the staff had to go to reception area to obtain this for you,if you required a second cup, tough.,
Good 6.3
Pros: It was in a lovely part of the town.
Cons: Improvements were being made at the hotel but at the moment it still feels very tired.
Good 7.5
Pros: We arrived very late in the evening and the young member of staff Rimi texted us with the front doo key code and this allowed us to enter the hotel, he also left an envelope with our room key in it which was most helpful. The room was adequate and clean and we just crashed out. There was a good variety of choice for breakfast.
Cons: The overall building is enormous in size and is in need of updating in lots of areas the front of house is quite acceptable but other areas are quite dingy. Our on suite shower was the smallest I have ever had to squeeze into and I’m only average sized!!....
Good 7.7
Pros: Restaurant in this otel was excellent
Okay 5.3
Pros: The room was spotlessly clean and the room for breakfast had a nice outlook over the park. The hotel was easy to find from the train station.
Cons: The shutters on the window of my room couldn't be opened, meaning that the room felt claustrophobic. There was a smell of cigarette smoke coming into the room. The bed would be uncomfortable for more than an overnight stay and the pillows were lumpy.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Great room, staff very helpfull and freindly, fantastic location it is all it says it is.We loved our stay there.
Cons: No
Mediocre 3.3
Pros: Appart from location nothing... We could not even fit in the showers they were so small!! and we are not big people!
Cons: cleanliness and showers
Good 7.0
Pros: i didn't try the restaurant in the hotel, but the one just in front, called 'a touch of salt', is great...

Excellent 9.6
Pros: Made to feel welcome. Very clean .food excellent just perfect for a hotel would stay again
Cons: Busy road
Excellent 9.6
Pros: The welcome was the best we have experienced for a long time. A very pleasant stay. As experienced travellers with over forty years experience of traveling in France we highly recommend this hotel.
Cons: A bit more ventilation in the bathroom would be good
Good 6.3
Pros: extremely helpful and obliging staff, happy to give us a meal even though we arrived very late.
Mediocre 3.7
Pros: cheap price, next to the main road, close to the airport
Cons: Too far away from the city centre (an hour walk)- not as shown on the "show map". If you drive, that's fine. Very noisy because it is right next to the main road.

Excellent 8.3
Cons: Bathroom taps did not function properly.
Excellent 8.5
Pros: Located on one of Brive's main streets and had a bar attached where an excellent breakfast was served. No street noise due to effective double glazing! Rather tired furnishings and décor but rather quirky in an old-fashioned way! A public car park directly opposite the hotel.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Rooms and location were good
Cons: Very rude lady no manners and angry stormed into the room at 10. 30 no knock on the door and started pointing at her watch
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Staff extremely helpful. Quiet location restaurants and bars very close
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Excellent location and friendly staff
Cons: Uncomfortable bed
Good 6.7
Pros: Great location in centre of town.
Cons: Car parking difficult. Room very tired but clean. Aircon not working.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great hotel , location & breakfast.
Cons: -
Good 7.9
Pros: The location was excellent, right in centre of town so we could walk everywhere. Bus service good. Le Coq d'Or was also a bar so we could sit & have a beer under their lovely tree. Bed very comfortable & shower good.
Cons: Property was a bit shabby & dark but we got used to it. The female proprietor was a bit dour & didn't seem happy to communicate with us but the male was a bit more cheerful. We mention this because when you're in a foreign country you want to feel welcome.
Good 6.0
Pros: Good central stop over point. Quite basic but clean and adequate for needs. Ideal for family of four as two joined rooms.
Okay 4.0
Pros: air conditioning in room
Cons: size and decor of room. not a hotel I would like to be in if there were an emergency. One single steep staircase
Good 7.7
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff
Okay 4.6
Pros: A basic typically French hotel. The owners were accommodating and provided an adjacent room (at extra cost) in lieu of the requested twin-bed room with a shared bathroom. The owner waited up to provide access after Midnight, access thereafter being by a back door. The bedrooms themselves were spartan, being furnished with a double bed, chair and very small side table. It would have been nice to have somewhere to hang clothes. The windows had half-length curtains but were not overlooked by adjacent properties. While fine in December, in summer this could lead to an early awakening. The bathroom was a reasonable size with a decent shower. Breakfast consisted of a bread basket and jam/marmalade, tea/coffee.
Cons: The corridor lights are on a timer switch and it was very difficult to find the light switch in the dark. A movement sensor to switch on at least one light would be a good idea.
Good 7.6
Pros: The owners were biycle friendly and stored our bikes indoors in an easily accessible place. Not every hotel owner is kind to folks traveling by bicycle.
Good 7.2
Pros: The owners were so nice to us! They gave us all kinds of sightseeing ideas that would have missed without thier advice. We enjoyed their friendliness so much.
Cons: $review.cons
Okay 5.6
Pros: Nice hotel with nice proprieter in a convenient central location.
Cons: The rooms were rather small.
Okay 4.0
Pros: $review.pros
Cons: A very dated and antiquated guesthouse. A very compact bathroom. The website said 'a lively little Bistro'. In actual fact, they do not serve any food apart from breakfast! There is very little nearby to entice us to return to the town.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: There was a lovely view from the room.
Excellent 8.8
Pros: very nice stop for overnight travelling
Cons: none
Excellent 8.0
Pros: It’s a hotel in a time warp but in a nice way. It gives good value for money and is comfortable and clean. The lift was a bonus.
Good 7.9
Pros: 10 minutes walk to the delightful town centre
Cons: Location and parking not ideal
Good 6.7
Pros: Private parking.
Cons: Staff just wanted to speak french, not other languajes
Good 7.5
Pros: The room was small and basic but clean. Restaurant on premises very French and serving a delicious generous portion meal. Breakfast was also good. Hotel located in convenient position close to centre with some bars. Hotel car parking was in next road in locked compound.
Cons: Bar prices a little on the high side but on the whole very satisfied.
Good 7.5
Pros: It was an easy walk from the train station. The room was nice, better than a one-star accommodation I would say. The pedestrianized center of Brive-la-Gaillarde was within walking distance (10 or 15 minutes) and was a pleasant place to visit and dine in the evening.
Cons: The breakfast (for 6.50 EUR) was quite mediocre. The 'croissant' wasn't really a croissant, it was a bread roll shaped like a croissant. It was not flaky and tasty like a real French croissant. Not very flavorful jam and jelly was provided in little plastic packets like in a diner in the US. The coffee lacked flavor.

Excellent 9.2
Pros: ibis style is what it is little costly compared to others we stayed in on our travels
Good 7.5
Pros: Comfortable rooms. Lovely restaurant (Courtepaille) on site. Great location for an overnight stop en route.
Good 6.3
Pros: Handy for the A20, clean bed, parking good.
Cons: Expensive restaurant food, bathroom a bit shabby, ventilation vent in the bathroom above the shower/bath completely off, tv remote not working properly, breakfast hard croissants & madeleines, the ‘fresh’ fruit looked like it had been there for days, the rest of the breakfast was ok. We probably would have been just as well taking a room in the Ibis budget next door which was cheaper. All in all not the usual quality for the money we paid. On a return journey we’d stay somewhere else.

Pros: The first entry by the cortepaille restaurant is tight and steep, especially if towing, there is a second way in just round the corner, much better. We had booked a twin room and I asked if we could have a room at the rear so that we could see the trailer and boat. The lady was great and found us the perfect room, obviously an upgrade , but at the same price. Fantastic service! Budget hôtel, basic but hot water clean room and comfy bed. I as leats use ibis budget hotel now. Steuart Uk
Cons: Tight access.

Cons: Shower over bath
Good 7.9
Pros: Excellent hotel for one night when travelling in France. Hygiene was somewhat disappointing (rooms with carpet that require refurbishment, dusty corridors,... Personnel is very helpful - Recommend the restaurant - good food for a descent price.
Cons: hygiene was disappointing - not that the accommodation is dirty, but could certainly be improved (overall housekeeping and hygiene).
Good 6.7
Pros: Good location for A20 friendly helpful staff got a quiet nights sleep.
Cons: Restaurant not open Saturday evening. Rooms and public areas very tired.
Okay 5.4
Pros: The staff was helpful and friendly. Brochures available for local attractions. Good off the highway location and close enough to get a good early start at La Rouge and Gouffre de Padirac.
Cons: This is clearly an older hotel that hasn’t seen much renovation. My wife was not pleased with the cleanliness.
Good 7.5
Pros: Easy access to motorways
Good 7.9
Pros: Large rooms, comfortable beds. Good family accommodation with two rooms. Nice shower. Water and biscuits provided in rooms. Air conditioning. Short drive into town centre - variety of places to eat there and on route to centre. Good size car park. Excellent stop over hotel on route to further destination in France. Quiet even with a large busy MacDonalds across the road.
Cons: Room description detailed tea and coffee making facilities but there were none. There was a restaurant in the hotel but we didn’t use it so had to travel to find somewhere but that was our decision. Quite industrial around hotel.

Good 7.3
Pros: Staff very friendly and accomodating, room very spacious and comfortable. Room very clean. Good variety at breakfast, staff very helpful.

Pros: Bed clean and comfortable
Cons: Bathroom heater not working Paper cups Table lamp shade missing One bedside light not working Restaurant not open weekends and after a 14 hour journey we found this very disappointing. The staff recommended Sandy’s diner on an industrial estate when there was a restaurant just across the road. After using Campanile hotels 4 times a year for several years its with regret we shall no longer be using any hotel from this group. They are becoming extremely tied with not much sign of improvement any time soon.
Good 7.5
Pros: Very close to A20 motorway. Got ground floor room.
Cons: Shower bar very loose. Plus shower to bath change button did not work.
Mediocre 3.8
Pros: Nothing !
Cons: Just about everything. The hotel and its forecourt should either have a major make-over or bull-dozed and built again. How a company with a large number of good hotels like Campanile, effectively ruin its reputation by charging a normal rate for what is the most run-down motel we have ever stayed in Europe and the USA. It is disgustingly not up to standard. I would go as far as to say that I had doubts as to whether the bed linen was freshly washed.
Mediocre 3.3
Cons: The hotel is no longer an airport hotel (the new airport is 20km away at Valee Dordogne) I did not know this due to poor advertising / information and therefore paid $40 for my taxi. The hotel itself is very basic, 1970's by design and basically unpoleasant. Very overpriced at $75 pe rnight via your website. Will not use your site or Campanile ever again.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: It was very convenient ad an overnight stop when travelling. It was clean, the staff pleasant and the food was good. Ideal for my purpose.
Okay 5.7

Okay 5.4
Pros: Clean but miniscule bathroom comfortable matress
Cons: The room was drab- probably last decorated when the hotel was built- we stayed there about 10 years ago and it was basic but nice- now everything is worn out and very tried - we booked a double room for 2 but still got the bed above but without bedding just a bare frame that did nothing to make it look or feel better- still managed to hit the head hard- twice- all the ambiance of a prison cell with poor lighting- not cheap and cheerful but cheap and nasty- there are other hotels that are only slightly more expensive but much much nicer. There wasn’t much choice for breakfast- very basic continental but fresh and tasty- the only redeeming features were ( tiny) but very clean bathroom and comfortable mattress but the bedding was well worn but clean and fresh
Good 7.9
Pros: The room cost was low and good for one night. More suitable for the Male traveller.
Cons: Budget standard so unexpected.
Good 6.7
Cons: Wi-Fi connection was super slow
Good 7.0
Pros: good cheap stay...Although breakfast was poor (Covid restrictions etc)
Cons: Smell of cigarettes constantly
Good 7.5
Pros: It’s ease of access from the motorway and closeness to the town
Cons: No complimentary drinks tray in the bedroom.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Cleanliness, location, great staff, and price.
Cons: Breakfast!
Excellent 8.8
Pros: Basic hotel room - no frills - clean and functional - good for a 1-night stay. Walking distance to restaurant/bar and convenient for Brive Airport. Also breakfast available for 6e per person in dining area - but had an early flight, so can’t comment though looked like there was a great choice available.
Cons: Pillows were poor quality and lumpy...could do with replacing!
Good 6.7
Pros: Price and convenience for an overnight stay
Good 6.3
Pros: Functional - things worked
Cons: There was a noise problem (1) The heating unit at the far end of the hotel (2) I could hear a very loud and talkative client in the adjoining room. I think the noise may have come through the bathroom partition.
Good 7.3
Pros: We have stayed approx 10 times it is ideal as a 1 night stop over and although hotel is basic it is ideal for us who travel with our dogs. The rooms/beds are very clean. As back sufferers my wife and I agree the beds are the most comfortable we have ever slept on. The automatic check in is also a bonus as on our last trip we were delayed 4 hours but was able to use auto check in at midnight.
Good 6.0
Pros: convenient location,

Excellent 8.8
Pros: The food at the restaurant was excellent. The bathroom had plenty of room.
Cons: The room and bathroom is very dated but had a certain olde worlde charm.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: Friendly, courteous and helpful staff who helped with our minimal french
Good 6.7
Pros: Location adjacent to pedestrian precinct. Large room Secure under cover parking on site Welcoming receptionist
Cons: Shower. handpiece had no holding bracket. Handbasin cracked in two places. Bed sagged and was past its best before date.
Okay 5.4
Pros: Covered garage for car although cost 7 euros a night.
Cons: The hotel was in a sorry state. The room we were given was in dire need of decoration, bare patches on radiator, windows and skirting. The 'bathroom ' is a cubbyhole with a concertina type door which is broken.
Good 7.5
Pros: The hosts were charming and produced a magnificent evening meal in a beautiful room. If you want the authentic French hotel with character - this is it! Rush hour is not a good time to arrive as the hotel is on a one way non stop traffic system. There is very reasonable public parking nearby but you need to know where it is! The hotel is in the centre of town near many interesting buildings and attractions
Cons: In the interests of a fair review the bedroom we had was a good size but all the walls and ceiling were decorated with a floral patterned paper in a sort of hearing aid beige/pink. There was an enormous patch of damp on the ceiling over the bed. Frankly, the place needs a bit of money spending on it. Maybe other rooms are more up to date, I certainly hope so. The decor is part of the charm of the place, so many hotels have a very bland offering standard throughout their boring range. Not this one, I would gladly go again for a sheer breath of fresh air..
Good 7.9
Pros: Friendly staff - owner spoke fluent English Very good breakfast - don't forget to ask the owner for cooked eggs Owner very helpful - lent us a fan as the room was hot in late July! Dog friendly Private covered car parking with high ceiling (rare for city / town location) Location - close to old town Price very good for central location
Cons: Hotel & room very tired (badly needs painting / decorating, shower doors cracked & carpets past their sell by date). BUT the hotel & room were clean and given all the positives if you are prepared to overlook the shortcomings you should have a good base from which to explore Brive.
Okay 4.7
Pros: The location of this hotel is very good to visit this city on a short stay.
Cons: This hotel must have been very good some time in the past, but as for now it needs refurnishing for todays standards. The lady in charge was helpful, in offering different rooms.
Mediocre 2.8
Pros: None
Cons: Two rooms booked for family burn marks on bed clothes, water markes on ceiling and walls, showers not fit for purpose, difficulty locking door,Bad state of repair and decoration throughout
Okay 5.0
Pros: Perfect location by the pedestrian area, very good hospitality. Parking included, accomodation at very cheap price. Sheets and towels clean. Big rooms, good breakfast. WiFi, playstation...
Cons: Very very very old rooms (we were scared the ceiling could fall down during the night...) and even older toilets. In general for this price we couldn't expect more, but maybe wallpaper should be changed at least every 40 years? :-)
Good 6.0
Pros: We loved the central location, the very friendly proprieter, the view of the church from the bedroom window, and the authentic French experience. Not for those who need all mod cons and new decor.
Good 6.7
Pros: the manager was very accomodating and helpful
Cons: there was not much on the menu for a child with conservatrive tastes but they were willing to make up a meal off menu
Mediocre 3.2
Pros: Web reservation Price of the room Easy to find Center of city
Cons: Bad look of the room Bad look of the hotel Medium diner Pollution and noise from the street
Okay 4.0
Pros: The pleasant nature of the Lady in charge
Cons: Rooms were very shabby,no hot water Wallpaper falling off,Plasterwork falling off windows all floorboards creaking...all in all very old and very very badly maintained
Good 7.2
Pros: Food was excellent
Cons: Could do with a coat of paint.
Good 6.8
Pros: Excellent food - dinner and breakfast. Personal service - very pleasant and welcoming Atmospheric - early 19c coaching inn. Dining room very attractive. Parking - large garage beside hotel (ex coach house) Excellent position - centre of Brives - very attractive old town.
Cons: Age of the hotel shows in places - parts better decorated than others. En suite bathroom quite small. Room without toilet has more space for shower and wash basin (toilet is along landing) Street noises when window is open.
