The staff were polite, the food was a good standard and parking facilities were also good.
It stated that we could check-in from 2pm, yet when we arrived at 3.30pm, was told our room wasnt yet available. We were put in an outside building, it was very cold to begin with, took a good while to warm up. I didnt feel like we were in a hotel room, and it was for a special occasion, which was Valentines, so had wanted it to feel different from the 'norm'! A little disappointed to be honest.
The breakfast was lovely. Our room wasn't quite ready when we arrived so we were given complimentary drinks.
There were a couple of items of items left over from the previous occupants behind chairs in the room - balloon, leaves from flowers - and lots of dust and debris under the sofa bed but otherwise room was clean.
They had a room for a last minute booking
We stayed in one of the top floor rooms. It was ok for one night but it all feels a little tired.
Loved the setting and the beautiful atmosphere they have created. The rooms were gorgeous and so comfy. We loved the look of the bar and restaurant, even though we didn't eat there and the reasonable room service prices. Nothing seemed to be too much trouble.
The only concern was the bath leaking but we reported it and they were apologetic and said they would get it sorted.
Was a lovely main building and some staff were lovely and friendly
We came in at half 2, couldn’t check in as room wasn’t ready, the housekeeper was very rude to the man on reception saying the room will be done when it’s done, this was very off putting. Also the room was nothing like photos online!! Much much smaller, not very clean, room hadn’t been vacuumed which as a house keeper myself is a main priority
