We are not B&B regulars. The Chiltern is gorgeous. Upscale, old world elegance. Hosts Dan & Joan are like family after just a few hours. Location is just outside comfortable walking distance (we're 70 yrs old) unless you are a hiker. In season, parking can be problematic downtown. The address is easy to find. Parking at the Chiltern is ample and right at your door. Hard to believe such a historic home has a pool & spa but the Mills have spared no expense adding modern amenities to a charming home. We took a chance booking on internet info only but truly found a pearl. Joan is a true artist with food & presentation. Breakfast is not only ample but delicious and beautiful! Dan is a wonderful tour guide: for the house & sights to see and experience. He'll make suggestions if you want them and show you on a map how to get there. The love they have of this home shows in every room and out every window/door. AND....they have better TP than the 4.5 star hotels we stayed in in Montreal and Boston!!! Treat yourself!
At our age, we just would have liked to be a half mile closer to town. We didn't like leaving!!!
Able to park on site. Mini fridge also nice.
Bed was uncomfortable and bumpy. No curtains in living room window or entry door. Felt exposed to people walking by. Noise from other guests above us somewhat bothersome. WiFi spotty at times.
Breakfast was awesome! The hosts were very friendly and we enjoyed talking with them. They made the visit very special
Enjoyed the pool and the 2nd bathroom
Gracious hosts, lovely rooms. Garden out front was in bloom and beautiful. Breakfast was tasty and well presented.
Had been looking forward to using the sauna, but it was out of service -- no fault of the owners.
