Location is super few minutes from Khao San road. The vibe in the hostel is just pieceful and calm, even though you are in the middle of Bangkok. Would definitely recommend when starting or ending your trip in Bangkok.
The location is decent. Its about a 15 minute walk to Khao San road and about 25 minutes to the Grand Palace and the temples in that area. The best part, and probably the part that gets highlighted the most, was the restaurant/bar garden right outside. The food there is good and so easy to get a quick drink before going out or even to stay for the night if you don’t feel like dealing with the craziness of Bangkok. The rooms were average but the common area and the outside area was very nice. Pool was a plus even though no one went in. The outside area was the highlight for sure.
The staff were just not friendly and helpful at all. You can totally feel the difference in the vibe and the atmosphere from the hostels in the north and the hostels in Bangkok. I arrived very early on an overnight bus and they made me wait over 8 hours before being checked in. They insisted they were full up, but in the time I was waiting I saw at least 8 people check out well before 9am. This would have given them plenty of time to clean the rooms and check me in by 12, or even 1pm. Instead they said the policy is 2pm and waited until 2:15 to even start checking people in. The customer service was beyond poor. Would give a 0 if possible. I was there for 4 nights and DID NOT HAVE 1 WARM SHOWER. They didnt have hot water the entire time I was there. This is inexcusable for a hostel in a huge city like Bangkok. I stayed in places in Chiang Mai and Pai that had more consistent hot water than this place. I stayed with a hill tribe in the jungles outside of Chiang Rai that had better hot water than this place. The breakfast is small and basic. They start making waffles and toasting bread at 8am and leave it out all morning until you come to eat. They are very strict on 1 egg per person and leave a small amount of fruit out that is supposed to be “all you can eat” but when its all gone they purposely wait 15 minutes to refill. They constantly make mistakes with the breakfast coupons so make sure to count them when you check in. The people who stayed there were nice enough and I met a few people that were really cool. The overall score of this place is most definitely inflated by all the dutch travelers that go through here. Id assume this is a featured hostel on a major dutch travel site because 90% of the people here were dutch. Like I said, very nice people, but doesnt properly portray the overall score this place should have. All in all, definitely avoidable for the price I laid for 4 nights.
Great location, close to khoa San and transport but still in a quiet spot so you can get some sleep. Social hostel and very cool atmosphere
Locker big enough for a backpack Large common room and garden Perfect location
No super thorough cleaning of the room (e.g. leaving a beer cap on the floor)
