The hotel is very central and convenient for visitors to Athens. The staff went out of their way to make our stay very comfortable and the breakfasts were great. The location of the hotel is close to great restaurants and many tourist attractions. All three hop on hop off bus companies have their stops only a two minute walk away. Would recommend The Astor Hotel to all visitors to Athens, including families.
Location was very good and the breakfast was perfect. They also offered breakfast starting at 6:30 am which was very convenient.
The shower area is really small and difficult to move around and I am a small person. The shower water spills out into the main bathroom floor which there is little that can be changed. Went through a few extra towels. Not a deal breaker though. I had a single room so this may not be the same in other rooms.
Central Location but pretty quiet
Breakfast was poor and without variety Rooftop is currently closed due reforms Bathroom for disabled people is not comfortable for people without disabilities After taking a shower for 3 minutes bathroom looked like a pool.
room was very very very small
The Astor Hotel was nicely situated: it was just one street off of the main pedestrian street in Plaka and a few blocks from Syntagma Square. And that just far enough for it to be quiet. Additionally, it was a nice, easy stroll to the Acropolis. We got a room on one of the higher floors where we had an unobstructed view of the Acropolis, which was completely worth it, especially when it was lit up in the evening hours. The room was nicely furnished and the bed was very comfortable to sleep in. One feature that appealed to us was the extra door that separated the entry and bathroom area from the rest of the room. It created a sense of privacy and coziness. The breakfast was well-stocked and, while it was mostly self-service, the staff was fast and efficient in picking up any empty plates or cups. Of course, there is no beating the view of munching down a croissant and facing the Acropolis, which seemed so close to the eye!
With a stay at Astor Hotel, you'll be centrally located in Athens, just a 3-minute walk from Syntagma Square and 13 minutes by foot from Acropolis. Featured amenities include a 24-hour business center, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Planning an event in Athens? This hotel has 2313 square feet (215 square meters) of space consisting of conference space and a meeting room.
