Pros: Fantastic place
Cons: Breakfast could have been better.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We love the comfortable atmosphere, the owners and Poppy the new pup!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The chateau is an elegant, charming inn which brings modern amenities to a beautifully restored historical property. Veronique is an attentive, helpful and delightful host. The breakfast service in the dining room is absolutely delicious and made from fresh local ingredients.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extra bed is small for an adult aized person in the room we were in. Bathrooms are beautiful and renovations handled very well to preserve the historic charm. Lots of modern style with historic beauty. Staff incredibly helpful. Food was delicious.
Cons: Keurig in room was temperamental. Nice to have though. Farm products are delicious but can be digestively challenging to those without exposure to the probiotics in them.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The history!! Veronique was very helpful and we really enjoyed her countryside dinner recommendations. The pool is amazing. Breakfasts are very good. We did not regret at all staying outside of Amboise
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Chateau de Nazelles is absolutely wonderful. It’s well-located for Amboise, only a 10 min drive, but is far enough away to feel quiet and relaxing. Veronique made us feel like family for the week that we stayed there. She helped us organize restaurant reservations, suggested sites we didn’t know about, and gave us an idea of where to look when we ran out of baby formula for our daughter. The breakfasts were delicious, the room was comfortable, and the property itself is stunning. We loved staying here and would return in a heartbeat. Thank you for everything, Veronique and family!
Cons: Nothing—it was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I would not know where to start with the praise. The welcome, the spaces, the landscaping, the food, the atmosphere were all overwhelming. We wish we would have booked more nights, but we will come back for sure. Thank you for a lovely experience!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely old property with modern amenities. The ground were fun to explore and the staff were friendly and helpful with restaurant and Château recommendations. The breakfast each morning (brought on a tray to our door) was generous and delicious - we had the best croissants in France here. The kids enjoyed the pool. Located just 10 minutes from Amboise and close to many of the best Châteaus. Highly recommend booking this early so you don’t miss out!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place, comfotable beds, very friendly host, absolutly amazing
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My sister and I stayed here for two nights. Our host was fantastic she was friendly knowledgable, and made several dinner reservations for us. She speaks English and French. The breakfast: homemade jams, and local bakery goods. She made visiting easy.
Cons: On the way to the hotel the GPS took us down a one way road that was too small for our car. I would use a map. Go to amboise then map to the b&b

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good continetal breakfast. Friendly service and great location - walking distance to center of town
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything from the room, food and location were perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place, a small boutique hotel with a homey feel and pleasant environment. Very nice welcoming and service. Also very convenient with a parking space for the car in the backyard (our big SUV was a bit tricky to drive through the front gate but it worked out well). This is a perfect hotel for you if you appreciate cosy and pretty and a bit of historic feel to a place and also of you like nice little details that makes you feel welcome and that the hotel is run by persons that really care. The breakfast was also a nice small assortment of local cheeses and a yoghurt and honey and fruits and croissants etc. We loved it, but if you are the type that seek a massive breakfast buffet with loads of different dishes, then you should probably book a large scale modern chain hotel instead. For us it was definitely the nicest hotel we stayed at during our vacation in France, especially due to the very good service and the cosy atmosphere of the place itself.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptionally professional, welcoming and friendly. The location is fantastic - very central. We received a great recommendation for the L’Alliance restaurant, which was delicious. It was also lovely to have a little glass of wine in the courtyard of the hotel. Parking was hassle free.
Cons: N/A
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The caslte was in walking distance. The staff was very friendly and gave good advice. Parking space within the residence
Cons: Nothing.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: nice old hotel with charm
Cons: beds too hard
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice location in Amboise and not too noisy at night. Comfortable bed. Good bathroom. Breakfast was good with gluten free bread available on request.
Cons: It was not obvious when we booked that there was no restaurant. This was not a problem as it was the height of the summer season and plenty of restaurants a short walk in Amboise by the chateau. The toilet was extremely small so no good for a large person!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was very central. Standard of the room was very good.
Cons: Shower was hi-tech but tricky to use and small in a large shower room - why?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Have stayed before and love this hotel. Small and quiet but a stones throw from the main sights. Staff exceptionally helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Small but super classy boutique style hotel with old world charm. Upon arriving the person on duty came rushing out to help us with our bags. He could see we had a newborn baby with us as was so accommodating! We had booked in another hotel, which to our shock had given up our room when we arrived! So we found this hotel luckily and booked it on the spot! So very glad we did. It was on our shortlist and we should have picked this first!!
Cons: Tiniest little thing. No lift. But it’s no surprise as heritage style buildings had no lifts. Also, our room was a little stuffy, the aircon unit was a little old and not entirely sufficient for the size of our room.
7.7 Good
Pros: Staff could not do enough and cuisine great although as only a set menu perhaps not everyones 1st choice but will definitely be returning in the future
Cons: Having to leave
7.3 Good
Pros: The location in the center of Amboise was ideal, the hotel was very comfortable and well appointed, bed linen was excellent - high level of attention to detail
8.0 Excellent
Pros: T ,he room was huge and the atmosphere was lovely. The restaurant is one of the best we have ever eaten at. You can walk from the hotel to a lot of places (Chateau, weekly market, Loire River, restaurants) Everyone there was very friendly. Nice grounds
Cons: Although there is wireless there is not a computer available if you do not have your own. This made communication home difficult
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful, large rooms with lovely furnishings. Comfortable bed with very nice linens. Large bathroom with updated fixtures like double sinks, separate bathtub and shower.

Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Truly comfortable and romantic place with amazing garden a 5 min walk from the castle. Easy onside parking.
Cons: No aircon - but was fan
6.3 Good
Pros: Check in was nice, personal and professional - I think the owner ? spoke English better than I do !! The area is beautiful and the location for sightseeing and local bars / restaurants is very good - 5 minutes from the Loire, and the Chateaux.. Decent coffee making facilities in the room - Wifi is OK Our rooms were in an outbuilding - and have small kitchens - more appropriate for travellers who intend to stay for a few days instead of 1 night.
Cons: This is a mostly self catering hotel - no kitchen.. Doesn't really matter except that in season, the local bars and restaurants are heaving, so go out early. The car park gates are locked between 10pm and 8 am. If you are staying for a few days, you can buy your own provisions and prepare in the room. We were disappointed that not breakfast basket could be provided before we left at 8 am.. too early for the staff ? The rooms are fairly basic and quite small
5.4 Okay
Cons: The room was very basic for the price paid, no door to the bathroom, no tv, the parquetry was making a terrible noise when walking over. The photos showed in the booking.com page for this place, were not matching at all the room that we got.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The log cabin was amazing set among trees so very quiet and private but only 10 minutes walk from the center of Amboise where there was lots of choice of restaurants. Spotlessly clean, well equipped. The hot tub was a perfect end to our days of cycling. Owner was very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: Absolutely nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Minutes away from three chateaux. Clean with friendly staff. Sauna and jacuzzi.
Cons: Bathroom windows opening up to the streets.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This a very good location to stay for several days and in the same time to visit a lot of castles around Loire. The staff was very friendly and the pool is a good place to take a rest.
Cons: The rooms are clean and they have the basics. Maybe for the price paid, could offer a bit more.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location to the castles was excellent. Everything within 5 min walk was a treat.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast and generous quantities Very nice swimming pool.
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was excellent, location, swimming pool, very relaxing, peaceful, friendly staff, fresh fruit & pastries for breakfast
Cons: Loved everything
7.1 Good
Pros: Beautiful castle in stunning surroundings. We slept very well in the huge room. We had a swim at the pool
Cons: One staff was extremely rude. It was the guy who did our checkin. ( Checkin was fine). The unacceptable issue happened the next morning during breakfast. I had ordered a coffee and got a huge pot of hot milk with it. When I politely asked if I could get cold milk instead, the man went back to the kitchen and said very loudly to his female collegue : " elle aurait pu le dire avant, qu'elle voulait du lait froid" ( she could have told me before, that she wanted cold milk) - I had not been asked... - After some reflection I would not let this pass. So, I stood up and went to the breakfast room inside - we were sitting outside on the terrace with another couple - to tell the waiter privately that I had very well heard what he had said and found his behaviour rude, unkind and unacceptable aniway and totally unfitting to a château. Instaed of apologising in some way he made it much worse by telling me that " c'est incroyable que vous écoutez aux portes" ( incredible that you listen behind the door) and then leaving for the kitchen to tell his collegue that they need to close the door. This left me completely stunned. We have never experienced something like that before. We found the staff lacked professional training and noticed that the 4 or 5 breakfast tables outside were all set in a different fashion: with table cloth, without table cloth, with sets, without table sets etc, jsut as if there were no procedure. Also we were told upon arrival that there are plenty of restaurants in town and that reservation is not necessary. The result was that we drove into the - very beautiful and charming town - and could not be seated at the restaurant of our choice ( it would have been easy to call them before - We ended up in a restaurant that faced the castle walls. The food was just ok. But after dinner we saw the staff quarreling between them and were aghast to watch the same spectacle at the restaurant next door when we left. Strange!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The chateauia beautiful. We were in the Orangerie which is a complex of 2 rooms and a kitchen for 5 people. Amazing decor and facilities. The experience was fabulous.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staying in a chateau in Loire valley was divine . Antoine was the best host .
Cons: Everything was tres perfect .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The chateau is beautiful! We have 2 rooms with family. Breakfast was very nice! Nice pool! Each room has its own French decor with fireplace. Very clean!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location and gardens. Like being in the Loire properly! And a terrific table tennis table.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful castle hotel, very nicely decorated. The rooms are comfortable and spacious. Kind and helpful owners. A very interesting experience- one of our highlights from the trip.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location and outdoor swimming pool. Fair breakfast rate.
Cons: lack os staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place with great service!
7.5 Good
Pros: The cold breakfast was OK but offering hot breakfast would considerably improve the experience. I would prefer to pay for B&B rather than to have the breakfast added to the bill at the end. The salon could be more 'chateau-like' - it's almost a basement - but the outside sitting area is lovely.
Cons: Too many children.
La Breche - Amboise - Building
6
9.1 Excellent (426 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at La Breche in Amboise, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Château-Gaillard and Château d'Amboise. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find in a quiet location close to the Railway Station with the town & chateau of Amboise just a 10 minute walk across the river. Charming owner & helpful staff and wonderful to find functioning air-conditioning in the room. Bathroom decor & fittings now a little tired; bedroom small but well-appointed & comfortable. The rooms are on two upper floors with no lift but we were forewarned, so that wasn't an issue. The breakfast was very good, plentiful and of good quality...but came with a hefty additional charge of 14 Euros each! The restaurant here is excellent...we had a wonderful meal in the garden; be aware that it's very popular and although they keep a couple of tables aside for hotel guests, booking is essential. All in all, a lovely couple of nights to end our trip to France.
Cons: Only minor issues with the facilities, as the bathroom needed some up-dating and a feeling that the breakfast, which was excellent by the way, is just a little pricey at 14 Euros.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a find! just across the bridges from the town centre - an easy 10 minute stroll, the off street, secure, parking was a real bonus. The garden is lovely and the restaurant very, very good - it was a real treat to eat there both nights of our stay and the staff were so helpful. We loved Amboise, it's imposing chateau and charming streets - and the Loire Valley deserved much more of our time than we were able to spend here - so we'll have to return!
7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel has nice rooms and a good breakfast buffet.
Cons: The location is a bit remote.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. Most of all, the staff. What a wonderful group of people who work here! You can’t go wrong!
Cons: The stairs! Ugh. Nothing against the location and did not impact my review, but do be aware of the stairs. Still an amazing place nonetheless. Worth a visit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A really good price for a family room. Away from the busiest centre area but only a short 15 min walk across the bridge. Breakfast was fab. We didn't eat in the restaurant but it looked lovely. Secure parking was a bonus. Great Boulangerie just up the road. Top notch. Air coin the room was welcome. Loved it.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room and beds were very comfortable. The staff was helpful and very pleasant, both during booking and while we were there. Peaceful, pleasant, lovely gardens.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant is superb. Breakfast is excellent. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Cons: I had a problem accessing the wi-fi. However this was not major
7.5 Good
Pros: Good position in a good town. Good secure car park. Friendly helpful staff. Effective air conditioning (very hot weather). I would stay here again but ask for a different room.
Cons: The shower was in good condition but had a very small cubicle - when you turned round your backside bumped the tap so you got scalded or frozen (and I’m of slim build - someone of more generous proportions would be unable to use it at all), I bet the designer never used it. When the maid ‘serviced’ the room all she did was empty the bin; didn’t straighten the bed or refresh the tea tray.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Beautifully designed and thorough instructions for guests.
Cons: Cannot think of a thing we didn’t like.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely dinner in the garden on a balmy summer's evening. Staff excellent, great for a stopover when driving south. Secure parking.
Overview Reviews
See hotel page In the Indre-et-Loire department, in Nazelles-Negron, near Amboise, Olivier Fructus welcomes you to his hotel Chteau de Perreux, The Originals Collection. This 19th century castle, nestled in a 4-hectare park, is home to 11 elegant and comfortable rooms and suites. With its swimming pool, huge park and fixed price menu, this hotel is an invitation to disconnect, relax and enjoy the art of living in the Loire Valley.
6.7 Good
Pros: An interesting but rather strange place - worth wandering around the grounds behind and in front of the chateau. Good breakfast. Very helpful member of staff, but he seemed to have rather a lot to do! (See below)
Cons: This was the most expensive room on our trip through Italy and France, but neither the room nor the service justified the price. We had requested a table for dinner and had confirmation by email that it was reserved for us, but when we rang the day before arrival we were told the restaurant was shut that day. When we showed them the emails after we arrived, the person concerned apologised profusely and gave us breakfast for free, and helped book a table and taxi for dinner in town, which was very good. But on a long journey, and with a loaded car, we always plan to eat at the hotel, as we do not want to have to drive again or to leave a packed car in town, so this was not what we had planned. The restrictive check-in times are not helpful to people on a long journey and it seems rather artificial, given that the room was ready and there was someone on the spot who could have let us go to our room to rest, but it was made clear that there was to be no check-in until 4 pm. Breakfast starts later than in all the other hotels on our journey, and it took some time after that for it to be ready. We needed to get off to make our ferry, and this was not helpful. They emailed me for info before our arrival and asked if we'd like to request anything, but have still not replied! Obviously data gathering rather than a genuine attempt to be helpful! Most of this could be due to short staffing as the person there seemed to have a lot on his plate. More staff would help.
7.1 Good
Pros: The pool! The rooms were clean and it was quiet.
Cons: There could have been more staff. Whilst the man looking after us was so nice, I felt he had a lot to do. Beds weren’t v comfy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Gorgeous building, well renovated without losing the original beauty. Dinner outside was delicious. Staff, particularly Asma, was gracious and hospitable.
Cons: Would have been nice to have a mini fridge in the room, but by no means a deal breaker. Asma kindly placed our pâté in the hotel refrigerator overnight.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Personal contact with host.
Cons: Shower needed repair
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Personal Touch....when the owner cares, the staff cares, and it makes all the difference. Thank you for the hospitality!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and nice quiet location. Must have a car.
Cons: We needed a bin in our bedroom! That was the only fault I could find.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved our stay in the Chateau de Perreux! The Castle is very pretty, the parc around and the swimming pool really great and we loved the diners in the gardens!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: History , amazing swimming pool
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! The view, the property!! The trails. The trees and the birds. The breakfast was amazing!! Best croissant I've tasted in France! Outstanding coffee and local cheeses.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful castle hotel build on rocks. Super interesting to tour around the hotel. Nice room and service. I love it
Cons: Nothing to complain. It can be slightly cheaper maybe?
5.0 Okay
Pros: Breakfast was good quality if basic.
Cons: This was more youth hostel than chateau and bore no resemblance to the website. The staff wore their own clothes and looked unprofessional and scruffy with no name badges. The room was dated and tired looking with a broken shower, fuse box door had fallen off and was on the bathroom floor. Pool towels were threadbare and mismatched, carpet stained and old. This room has definitely missed out on any updates and I am appalled that it would be offered for 240€

Pros: Superb garden, pool and access to woodland
Cons: Small bed for two! Air conditioning through ceiling vent and behind wall grill very draughty. Shame restaurant was closed on Tuesday AND Wednesday. Too far out of Amboise to walk into town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing 2 night stay at this beautiful chateaux ! My husband brought us here to celebrate my 50th birthday and it truly was the perfect place to celebrate in style! The beautiful bathtub and such special touches in the room. We absolutely loved the very special dinner on our second night. Incredible meal, amazing preparation and cannot say enough about the staff and all the attention patrons receive here! We had a sommelier and a formagier! What a treat!! The black currant soufflé for dessert was so special & delicious. Highly recommend the resultant and the chateaux for any special occasion!!!
10.0 Excellent

Very friendly staff provided extension cord to cover needed electrical outlet. Great location for visiting Eastern Loire valley. Very close to da Vinci chateau and our favorite, Chateau Gaillard.
Cons: Lack of electrical outlets, expected in old chateau.

Cons: Buffet breakfast a bit expensive for array of choices.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful dinner, Quiet location

Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very well located spacious and clean. Lovely pool also. Thank you
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice size clean room with air conditioning, large clean bathroom, very nice helpful staff, lovely yard and pool area where you can enjoy a drink from the bar, good location in a quiet street.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Charming, great location, beautiful outside area, great bathroom, superior staff
Cons: Uncomfortable room, very hot, noisy.
7.9 Good
Pros: Very central location and our room was clean. Olivier & Samuel the two staff members were polite, helpful and extremely welcoming.
Cons: We believe the hotel to be very expensive compared to the many hotels we have stayed in around the world. The hotel seemed to understand-staffed. During our stay there only appeared to be one staff member working at a time, except at breakfast when there was a very helpful lady assisting. There was no onsite restaurant or bar, the limited drinks selection was served from a small kitchen. The pool area/garden is looking rather tired and is in need of some TLC.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel, charming setting, the pool is welcome, rooms are very well equipped and quite stylishly done out. Clost to centre of Amboise, very helpful staff. Definitely recommend as a base in Amboise
7.9 Good
Pros: Spacious room (number 8) in attic with lovely views out skylight windows to the town, trees and the Royal Chateau. Very large and well-appointed bathroom. Quaint and charming old building in quiet area, with a lovely garden and swimming pool. Convenient for restaurants and visiting the Chateaux.
Cons: Lift was out of order for first three days of our stay. Toilet was unreliable probably because of a water pressure problem, and despite notifying staff it was not fixed. We were advised that the swimming pool was not available until mid-June. Staff at reception constantly changed and were not very efficient.

Pros: Very nice place, country atmosphere, and quiet. Really pastoral. Very nice dining room to spend breakfast there. Very nice swimming pool. Nice and smiling staff - looks like a family business.
Cons: A room without windows. Very problematic and severely damaged the hospitality experience. Also, there is nothing in the room! No small refrigerator, self-made coffee set, it hurt the experience as well Breakfast is too sparse in products. No eggs or hot food at all. At the asking price, I would expect more
7.1 Good
Pros: It was in a beautiful location with a swimming pool. which is good for families and was spotlessly clean Very disappointed that there was not a restaurant, so had to get back in the car and drive into Amboise, as it was not in walking distance. It was a bit off the beaten track There was no Bar, although you could get a drink if you asked. And they were expensive. The breakfast was very nice but very expensive at 12.50 euro.
Cons: No Tea and coffee facility in the room. which is usually the norm in hotels and B&B's The fact that you had to knock on the door to get a drink, the staff were not very accomadating but they very pleasant
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close enough to the town, friendly staff, excellent breakfast. Room was comfortable and quiet, loved the garden and the morning sun in the park. Nice to have the swimming pool.
7.1 Good
Pros: The pool! So nice to cool off after a long bicycle ride. The owners are very nice and helpful.
Cons: The Wi-Fi didn't work in room 3, although it worked elsewhere. The room was musty and felt damp. No AC so we borrowed a fan to get some air flow. There are no restaurants close by so if you are on bicycle food can be a challenge.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Good location in countryside Bera Amboise and the castles
Cons: Towels were dirty and old. With 43 degrees Celsius they put blankets on the bed, no air conditioner o fun. Really hot, a lot mosquitos, with no mosquito net. We asked for towels for the pool (tiny) and they tolds us to get the bathroom towels, without giving to us other towels. The garden of the pool was not taken care. No umbrellas with a hot sun. The pictures of the hotel don’t reflect the reality at all in 2019. Expensive for a 3 star hotel, we paid 225 euros for 2 nights. For that price you can look for something better.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful big corner room with a terrace and in a large private estate. It was 42 degrees when I arrived by bike and the air con was already on in the room. Very thoughtful.
Cons: It’s possibly a little remote for some without a car. I didn’t mind as I went to bed early.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice and green setting not far from Amboise. Big double bed.
Cons: Although the bedlinen and the bathroom were clean, all the rest of the room had an inch of dust on it. In particular, the furniture definitely showed the signs of age and the whole room smelled musty and old, with several cobwebs around. It is a mystery to me how this property has such high ratings in terms of cleanliness. No air conditioning and wifi signal in the room was very weak, so I could barely connect. All in all, not good value for money.

Cons: It would have been great to have snacks available
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is the third time we have stayed here and would always return, the restaurant and food are excellent, the staff very friendly and caring.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is great, however, it is very remote and you will need to drive (I think about 8 km to Amboise) to find a choice of places to eat. However Amboise is lovely. The choice of food in the hotel restaurant is restrictive, although very nice (and at 29-35 Euros for the set menus it's not cheap). The swimming pool is heated and is very nice.
Cons: Restaurant choices could be improved. There is no air-con in the rooms and the fan in our room was defective, so it pointed at the floor all of the time, The building has been renovated so there may be some restrictions on fitting a/c ?
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast very good dinner excellent
Cons: The same menu for the meal of the day
10.0 Excellent

Pros: Camille at the front desk made us feel like cherished guests in her home, not hotel customers. She went out of her way to provide everything we needed. I wish every hotel we stayed at had her running the place. Loved our stay there.
Cons: Only problem was the air conditioner barely kept us cool.
7.9 Good

Cons: Nothing!
4.6 Okay
Pros: Location, parking, lobby, breakfast
Cons: 468 euros paid in December for three nights in this hotel. this review is not for the hotel and the conditions found, because we knew exactly what we can find in this hotel type, It is a negative review for hotel management. It all starts in December when I made the reservation, although it was not mentioned, the hotel took the money since then, ok its nothing .... A few days before arrival, I’ve sent a confirmation mail, mentioning that at least I expect get a decent room because they used my money for almost eight months, they didn’t answer, was the second sign that they don’t care about… Once arrived ,we were received by a young lady with bitter, impertinent and aggressive tone and attitude. Guess what room did we get? almost the last one on the corridor( and the corridor is quite long), with a terrible smell inside. When I was asking to change the room , you can’t imagine the reaction of this young lady, extremely embarrassing situation. It is clear that those who manage the hotel are not interested in customers ..... they are only interested in customers money. How can you put such people who are unethical and rude in direct relationship with clients? Are we in France or in a third world country? Anyhow… Regarding the hotel, I can say the following: location - very good with large parking lobby - spacious with a cute bar cleaning - acceptable to good Room -Novotel / Ibis type, small and cramped, but we assume that Furniture & carpentry - a bit obsolete breakfast – medium to good swimming pool - decent staff - acceptable to good (with that exception). With this review, I do not expect a change or any reaction, it is impossible from some people, it is just a shout in vain .....
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view from the hotel.
Cons: For the dinner the two portions of the same dish were not the same quality. One was tasty and OK, the other was below average. Strange.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: Air Conditioning in rooms was not working correctly not cold enough
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Outdoor space and pool for granddaughter
Cons: Nil
7.9 Good
Pros: The view is stunning
Cons: All good, but restaraunt food could be better
9.2 Excellent
Pros: mattress. bed
Cons: food
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Croissants not eaten and the bed was very comfortable
Cons: Not to have plastic bathroom cups or paper bedroom cups. Glass and China would be more appropriate at the cost of your rooms!
6.3 Good
Pros: It has nice pool, though we didn't use it, as it was too chill for it. Stayed for one night only, as after that we had a house booked in the very center of Amboise, so I might be quite baised about location. We travelled with 2 kids and grand ma, and the room had plenty of sleeping spaces. The sofa bed had sort of two separate sleeping places, and a quin bed was just huge. You don't have much space to walk around when everything out, but it all easy to put back when you're up
Cons: We checked in late at night, and a staff member gave us some hard time, while in the morning it appeared that everything was fine. The hotel is located, feels like, in the middle of nowhere, at the very end of Amboise. One side of the hotel is overlooking it's own parking.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Setting, decor and staff
Cons: No coffee facilities in rooms.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Stuck the tourist in the "Annex" not happy about showing one thing on the website then being put out back with the other Americans tourists.
6.3 Good
Pros: The location of the hotel within sight of Amboise Chateau and the river was perfect and only a short walk into the city centre. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom was modern, clean and had everything we needed.
Cons: We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as it would have added an extra 17.50 euros each person per night to our bill. We were already paying almost 200 euros per night to stay there and felt extra for breakfast was a little unreasonable. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in our room which we would have expected. Coffee and tea were charged at 3 euros per cup so I guess this was another way to make money from us. We were not impressed with this. There wasn't even any bottled water provided. Toiletries were packaged in small single use containers which is not very environmentally friendly. Many hotels nowadays are moving away from using these single use containers and provide guests with larger multi use containers fixed to the wall instead.
10.0 Excellent

Cons: It was all excellent

Room had air-conditioning, mini-bar/fridge, tea- & coffee-making facilities and a comfortable bed. Receptionist spoke very good English and was extremely welcoming and helpful.

Pros: Nice quiet garden in the middle of Amboise. Liked the breakfast room and the patio outside for dinner. Staff were very helpful and friendly
Cons: At the room rate charged I feel that breakfast should be included. Car parking very limited The room needed to be aired as on arrival it smelt musty
7.9 Good
Pros: Very pretty
Cons: The shower
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is charming and romantic. The setting was beautiful and quiet with a large lawn, garden and pool. The location was good- a short walk to the center of town. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was sparkling clean and spacious with nice towels and robes. We appreciated the parking even if it was tight! The staff was wonderful- especially Gregoire who welcomed us, helped with our luggage and gave great recommendations for restaurants in town for lunch. The hotel's on site restaurant was classy and quite good. We only wished we had stayed longer!
Cons: Breakfast was extra and was just essentially the standard continental fare.

Pros: The staff especially Max was very helpful and friendly. Check was easy and our room was well appointed and clean. Great location. We were going to stay at the Beat Western originally but we are glad we changed our mind as the location and hotel are much better.
Cons: Only things would be there is no lift for luggage but was only one floor so relatively easy. And it would be nice if there was at least one English speaking tv Chanel.
6.7 Good
Cons: Booked 2 rooms, first room fine, second room (room 21) air conditioning unit started producing terrible noise every 20 minutes from midnight, even after turning it off this continued for 2/3 more hours (until room temperature rose?). Every time unit made noise we woke, impossible to ignore. We had a long drive the next day so not happy.

Le Choiseul - Amboise - Building

8.1 Excellent (396 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Le Choiseul in Amboise, you'll be within a 15-minute walk of Château-Gaillard and Château d'Amboise. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We booked a regular room for 3 persons and received an upgrade to a junior suite, as the regular room didn' t have air conditioning. We very much appreciated this! The beds were very comfortable and the room very spacious. Beautiful pool and nice salon. Very friendly and very professional staff. Very close to the Chateau and the City.
Cons: I think the hotel is overpriced. It is an old building. Wi-Fi didn't work on the first day. Almost no sockets in the room. Cobwebs with big spider in front of our bedroom's window, so we didn't want to open the window. Breakfast also overpriced. 24 Euros for a small breakfast selection.
7.9 Good
Pros: Close to castle
Cons: Nothing
5.4 Okay
Pros: Superior room was stuffy attic room with tiny windows- too high to look out of, dirty carpet, old bathroom, tiny television, grubby radiator and fan, shabby old fraying furniture, and limited bath products. For a room costing over £200 and no breakfast included is a joke!
6.3 Good
Pros: Location and the building.
Cons: Very dated, stains on the bed, extremely overpriced food and drink.
5.8 Okay
Pros: The location is central, within 5 mins to all attractions of Amboise (the castle, restaurants). The breakfast was also nice and served in a nice locations.
Cons: The hotel looked overrated to us: the room was rather small, everything looked used and not renewed for a long time, the bathroom also looked old and not particularly clean. While it was a historic hotel, the old smell and worn out carpets didn’t please us (. Overall, our stay was a disappointing experience.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location facing the river and 2 mins walk into Amboise to visit the castle, go to restaurants, etc. The property itself is very beautiful and unique, the exterior was lovely; however, the interior really needs a refresh and modernisation. The bathroom was old and not 4-star standard. The room and bathroom haven’t been refurbished since the 1980s, so this was a little disappointing. We decided not to eat in the restaurant for this reason. Otherwise the hotel was clean and comfortable with a lovely terrace and garden. service was also good. Our stay here was overall fine - satisfactory, rather than wonderful.
Cons: Hotel needs a refurbishment. Outdated bathroom in room, and overall a bit disappointing in terms of interior and facilities for a 4-star hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The meal in the restaurant was fantastic and the service was excellent
Cons: It had a poor selection for breakfast
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A very nice hotel set on the banks of the Loire, in the shadow of the chateau. We loved it. Our room was on the top floor and it's decor was typically french. Was very glad to have air con as it was hot! We also ate in the hotel and had a great dinner. It really was superb food, overlooking the Loire. Breakfast was also a real treat. Very easy and quick to walk into the town centre but a lovely quiet spot.
Cons: If I was being picky, it was hard to get a drink in the evening.
6.3 Good
Cons: Room shabby in need of renovation, poor room for the money.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location. We stayed 2 nights and decided to try the breakfast despite it being so expensive on our first morning. Perfectly good breakfast but not worth 50Euros for 2 of us particularly coffee from a self serve machine.
Cons: On our return from a great but very wet bike ride, we asked the front desk staff if there was anywhere to dry our soaking wet trainers and clothes. We just got a 'shrug' and no. Unhelpful and changed my view of a lovely hotel to feeling I wouldn't be able to recommend it.
