Love the hotel. Staff is always professional. Rooms are always clean and comfy.
My only minor complaint is that you cannot get a snack in the evening only room service.
Quiet and comfortable bed
Maids skipped room after worked in room until 1.30 pm; charge for internet which is ridiculous in today’s day and age- signed up for Marriot Rewards to get it taken off bill but still had to ask at check out to have removed from bill
The room was well-priced for the area. Safe, walkable distance to the NSF, which was my destination, but also to several restaurants (chain and otherwise) and close to downtown. The room was large, with a chaise lounge chair and lamp beside the king bed with plenty of space around it. The view was awful, the back alley next door and concrete, but I really like that you can choose to pay less if the view doesn't matter to you. The room was well-cleaned and the option to skip daily cleaning is rewarded with either bonus points in the hotel's reward system or a $5 credit toward the Starbucks next door.
Could not get anyone to answer the "service" direct line; called three times between 7 pm and 7:45 pm before I could get room service ordered. Had it not been pouring out and if I hadn't been exhausted from business meetings, I would have walked to a nearby chain and gotten takeout. When my food came - almost an hour later - the soup was barely warm and the fries were cold, hard, and un-edible. No milk or sugar for the tea I ordered and when I called back to ask if some milk could be sent up, the hotel staffperson blamed me for not having asked for it when I ordered. She said she thought about it, but figured "no one really puts anything in their tea, do they?" Um, YES. I do, which is why I'm calling. Really rude interactions that made me start telling colleagues to stay elsewhere.
the multiple channels on the guide
Paying for wi-fi
Everything was great, however it took quite a long time to get warm water to the shower.
One night stay
Staff was friendly and professional. Loved the location of the hotel.
Prices of the food in the restaurant was a bit expensive. I did not like i had to pay for parking.
Great facility close to a lot
Great rooms, bed and shower. After driving for 12 hours, decided to eat in the restaurant Trademark. Make sure to get the Beer Can Chicken and charred broccoli. It was AWESOME!
The Westin was the perfect place for me to stay in Alexandria for a recent business meeting. The rate that I paid was very reasonable for the area and for the quality that I expect from the Westin brand. The room—and especially the bed—was very comfortable and essential in getting a peaceful night's sleep. The location of this hotel is great, just a short walk to the King Street Metro station, and a longer but pleasant walk down to the waterfront.
The downside of this location is that many of the nearby businesses close early since it's primarily a daytime business area. It's necessary to either walk down King Street or explore elsewhere to find things to do or places to eat, especially if you operate on a later schedule. Additionally, I thought the charge for the valet parking was incredibly high and far above what is typically charged for garage parking in Alexandria.
Adrian Renart, at the front desk, is the ultimate professional and went to great length to provide a memorable guest experience. He took great care in extending my stay giving me a great rate and a few perks. Very pleasant personality indeded. I had a similar experience with the valet parking crew; they always received us with a smile and were extra helpful. Very positive experience overall and will definitely stay there again.
The hotel was very kind to upgrade us to a suite for our anniversary. The room was beautiful and we enjoyed how comfortable it was.
We called down for silverware and they never came. The sheets had a few tears in them.
I've stayed at this hotel once a year for several years and the customer service, public facilities, and food are consistently excellent. The furniture in the rooms, however, is starting to look a bit worn. My stay was nice overall and I look forward to returning next year.
Everything was good
The staff was very friendly and eager to help. The room was very clean and the bed really comfortable. Flatscreen HD TV was great. Enjoyed two movies during our stay. Hotel was only three blocks from the King Street metro for travel into DC.
Charge for a bottle of water in room was $4.95 and I was afraid to brew a pot of coffee for fear of a charge. Had breakfast in the restaurant one morning for two people it was $54 with tip. Staff was very friendly though.
We thought the hotel bus was very handy. Reservations were made for us at a very nice restaurant. We were taken there and picked up after our dinner.
Comfortable and clean. Quiet, close to mass transit. Good staff
Shuttle was slow and did not show when they said they would. Example: I will be there in 15 minutes but took 25 minutes.
Staff was helpful and courteous. Paid a bit more than I may have wanted to but the room was very clean, the beds were comfortable and the shower was luxureous.
The hotel by itself is really nice .
For us - who were there for a very short city trip ,the location could have been better yet it was not a big problem either.
Convenient location, friendly staff, nice room size, large LCD
All was amazing for an outstanding price! The bed & linens, bathroom, decor, and silence was luxurious. Their motto throughout the room was to "Renew" your soul. They definately succeeded in their goal. I'd recommend them, even at full price, to anyone. Thank you, The Westin Alexandria, I will return!
Although this hotel deserves nothing but praise, the only thing I could comment about was it seemed you had to pay for internet service in your room, which most hotels I've visited offer the service free of charge.
cost of liquor in fridge.
Convenient to reach and quick service. Staff with good mood, and helpful.
Could not find a swimmingpool.
The helpfulness of the staff and accomodation of everyone. The rooms were very nice.
It was a little harder to find than they told me.
