With regard to all that was wrong with this hotel, its almost as if the kitchen staff were of a completely different planet. The kitchen staff were very friendly and kind whenever they could be. Although, I'm not sure why the Russian population seem to find that if they do not fill a four-seated table with food for one or two people, then they will inevitably go hungry; surely there's no need to have five or six plates piled with food covering the table!! Especially when half of it goes in the bin!!! That being said, the food, what we had, was delicious and very tasty. Anything else I did like about my stay, was outside of the hotel - so they couldn't ruin my entire holiday. I suppose people should read that the hotel is bad, but not the area or the local people.
Funny story. From being made to feel like a fugitive or criminal to being forced to prove our identity to the guards before being able to enter the grounds of the property. Yeah I'd say the hotel isn't the best. The atmosphere is awful, like a hot weather Big Brother house, but there's no prize money, no joking or laughing and inevitably no point in being there. The staff are unhelpful and unfriendly, honestly the right hand doesn't talk to the other. Pascal, I'd read about on previous reviews has been helpful before, however when I explained that the reception staff were threatening me as they believed I hadn't paid enough money for my stay, tried to help the night after we arrived. I saw Pascal the next again morning and asked if everything had been sorted, and he didn't have a clue, his words were "What's wrong? Are you okay?" I was horrified, because I'd hardly had any sleep due to panicking about whether we'd be on the streets and the staff had already had me in tears over the whole payment issue. My description of the hotel is probably summed up in three words, unwelcoming, unaccommodating and clueless. The environment of the hotel, and the way the staff treated me and my family completely ruined our first impressions of Turkey - my son and his partner were staying at "another hotel" along the road and we paid extra to stay there throughout the day meaning we were only unfortunately sleeping in this place, and eating a few meals. I wish I could mention that hotel here as that is the true Turkish welcoming, friendly and hospitable way of Turkey. Needless to say, there will be no chance we would be returning - I wouldn't even suggest this hotel to my worst enemy nor my evil ex-husband, so that should put it in perspective.
