modern entrance area with cool breakfast and bar area large rooms with good beds location is perfect to the lake, the old town and everything else
just the old carpate and the very small elevator could need some improvements... everything looks really good Swiss prices of course... but could have been worse
Breakfast selection was better than my last visit. Free fruit on arrival. Bed very comfortable, although pillow too big. Free WiFi worked. The hotel is a lovely 25 minute, 5,000 step walk to Zurich Hauptbahnhof along the lake and river, including pauses to take a quick photo. Alternatively Zurich Stadelhofen S-Bahn station is close by for a faster journey, and of course Zurich Opera House is just a couple of minutes walk away.
At breakfast, labelling of items was haphazard at best meaning help was needed to identify what was where and what was what. When asked in German where was the dried fruit, the breakfast waitress pointed vaguely to an area that had three bowls of dried seeds and one of dried apricots in a collection of other things. When asked about muesli, she wafted her arm in the general direction of the wall as if expecting some sequinned genii to arise in a flash of smoke holding a bowl of muesli. It became apparent that her English was better than her German, but her English was not very good either. Either that or she did that thing of just not being cooperative by pretending not to understand anything that might require her to make an effort. She seemed to get on very well with the young men who were not having breakfast though. Breakfast ran from 6.15 but at 6.45 there were no sausages until 7.00 and no bacon until even after that. There was some white stuff which could have been natural yoghurt (sweetened) or maybe fromage frais, and there was some beige paste thing I didn't even try - neither were labelled, not even on a group sign that other parts of the breakfast were labelled with. Right at the very end of the breakfast I quite accidentally discovered the freshly made muesli I had asked about half an hour earlier. It was delicious.
The location is excellent ! Stadelhofen train station, lake Zurich , Migros , and the Opera are all a few steps away . Many restaurants and cafes in the area . Hotel very clean , deluxe room is huge compared to European standards .
Tiny elevator , no bellman to help with the luaggage which is frustrating if you have alot of bags , small breakfast buffet , not many choices .
Staff members Nina and Julian were excellent.
Excellent location, good breakfast, friendly staff
It was unpleasant payment situation. Hotel charged me 991 CHF 2 days before arrival (money was wrote off, not frozen), then, when we check-out Hotel charged additional 999 CHF !!. And returned it only after I applied to them regarding it. Then, the same day, in the evening, they charged me additional 40 CHF for parking, though we were WITHOUT car))) Now I m trying to return it back) Such a relation is not good and not friendly.
