The building is old and not well kept. The furniture is dated with numerous flaws. The rooms need to be renovated. The grout in the bathroom is dingy. Staff did what they could to make the stay comfortable, but it is an old hotel.

Location, Location, Location...but needs to be inv
This Embassy Suites hotel has a great DC location. We have stayed here three separate times, stopping here on our DC trips. It is easy to walk from here to many of the central DC sites you want to see. It has a good family feel with a family cocktail hour that my kids love to participate in. They have a great room set up with games and snacks for families with small kids, and a separate cocktail room for adults not families with older kids. Breakfast is great...huge diversity of options, relatively fast for the volume, and my "picky kids" are happy and full by the time we walk away.
The hotel rooms are worn down. The bathrooms are fifteen years past needing updating. The pool is too small, over chlorinated, and depressing. The cocktail hour is chaotic, understaffed and the snacks can not keep up with the crowd. (I get that it is free, but you have to keep up or just not offer it).
Centrally located. Lovely staff. They had free happy hour every night! In DC, that is nothing to sniff at. Continental breakfast had everything under the sun.
The room was clean and comfy, but it was a wi-fi dead zone. You had to pay $10 a day for wifi, and my cell phone signal only worked when I was in the bedroom next to the window (we had a king suite on the 11th floor). The walls were that thick, I suppose? There's nothing that says cheap more than making guests pay for wi-fi at a $230/night hotel.
We would go back!
Great room layout comfortable bed and fun happy hour for kids. Knowledgeable and friendly staff, good and convenient breakfast.
When staff knows a family booked a room they should give multiple shampoos and conditioners before we have to ask bc we found ourselves without enough. Glasses (drinking) were not replaced daily.
Location to the DC Conference Center; free breakfast
Would have appreciated small half-half packets in room instead of powdered milk for coffee
Clean room, friendly staff, great location, everything you want from a hotel
Price, location, 2 rooms for children, swimming pool, breakfast included, happy hour for parents, great city location
Very well received and nice and clean facilities. We've enjoyed our stay. The manager's reception was a +and the inlcuded breakfast had everything we needed to start the day on a good note.
The breakfast was good. All sights are in walking distance

Location was great. It was walking distance from many main sites in Washington. A metro was near by but, we didn't need to use it. The area is filled with excellent restaurants to walk to and there is a Starbucks across the street. The staff is very helpful with planning anything. I love the comfy beds and pillows at the Embassy Suite Hotels!
I enjoyed both a convenient location and hotel facilities, especially the indoor swimming pool gave me a remedy for jet lag.
What we could see from the windows was only the wall of the next building. I agreed with this stuation because I chose this hotel by the location, otherwise I would have stayed in the suburbs.
room were comfortable, especially the bed. staff were very helpful with planning of tour. very impressed with the happy hour where drinks and nibbles were provided free of charge between 4 and 6 every evening
Hotel location was between two metro stops serving different lines making it easy to navigate around the city. The breakfast and evening receptions were good. The room was well laid out and made it comfortable for three adults to coexist.
Due to the popularity of the evening manager's reception the room where the event is held could be larger.
Staff were friendly. Good location.7th street had good restaurants nearby.
Rooms a little small. Double beds were very small.two people could not sleep in them. Sitting room had no window which made it strange area to spend time in. Breakfast queues were horrendous, but then we did hear this about the hotel. Although the food was fine when we got it.
