Nice fresh sweet rolls, friut juices and good coffee with real half and half or flavored creamers included. Friendly staff. Least expensive property so close to the beach. Pool at sister hotel within walking distance. Upgraded us for free
Communication between staff members. We were given different information about check out, etc. by different staff
I like the location. It’s a few steps to the ocean. I like the staff, especially the housekeeping, they’re so friendly and nice. I also liked the lady at the front desk when I first got to the hotel. My flight from New York arrived early. Since I couldn’t check in yet because it was still early, she proactively told me that I can leave my bags with her and come back at 3pm when my room was ready and recommended places to eat around the area to kill time. I didn’t get her name but she was so nice. I got to the hotel from the airport around 1:30pm on July 13, 2019.
I didn’t like that my tv didn’t work when I first checked in into the room. I couldn’t find the remote and I couldn’t call the front desk because the phone didn’t work. I spoke to the lady at the front desk to ask for help (I think she just started her shift because it was a different person) and she was so passive aggressive about the whole situation. Instead of helping me, she gave me 3 remote controls to try out. I asked her to help me and had to convince her to come up to the room with me to see for herself. When we tried out all the remote controls and it didn’t work, I asked her to help me fix the tv and then she said to me: “I don’t know how to fix tvs. Don’t ask me”. So I told her, I just checked in this afternoon and I’m going to be here for a week. I can’t have my tv not working this entire time. She then rolled her eyes and told me, “I’ll call someone now to fix it” and left the room. She never did. I don’t remember her name. This was on July 13, 2019 around 3PM room 221. The next morning, I went to the front desk and told the person that my tv didn’t work. The nice gentleman immediately accommodated me and sent someone to my room to fix my tv.
Close to beach and restaurants
Small, old, floors uneven, not fully stocked, very noisy, too expensive for what you get. Very little parking. Had to park a block away!
we liked everything except the parking or lack of. Not having a parking place when we got back from dinner really put a downer on us.Had to circle around and finally had to park on the street.
The location is perfect...literally a few minutes walk from the beach! The room was clean and had all the basics you need. It was a convenient stay for a better price than the other places nearby. I would stay there again if I was in San Diego.
When we checked in the staff member at the desk was quite unpleasant. Normally that wouldn't factor into my review but she literally didn't say hello and then made me feel like I was inconveniencing her by being there...not a great welcome! Luckily the person at the desk in the morning was much more friendly which kind of made up for the person at check-in.
