I usually travel to pci yearly and have always had an amazing trip. This year I was very underwhelmed with the condition of the room. The shower floor felt like it was going to fall in. The lights flickered and some outlets didn’t work. The bed was unusually firm which caused all 4 of our backs to hurt. Will I book here again? Likely but hoping they’ll make some necessary improvements. At $1200 for 4 nights for one room, I feel they can find money in the budget to update their rooms and facilities.

Pros:Postcard Inn was what we were looking for in a quick getaway over the holidays. We had a king size garden view room. We were on the top 2nd level, no elevator. The main hotel entry was nicely decorated, lots of hangout places, a big table with games (my daughter loved the 3D tic TAC toe). There was also a photo booth. The Boathouse was a restaurant attached to the lobby...no room service. The garden had lots of lounging places too. There was an outdoor pool table and ping pong. At night the garden was lit with lanterns, and there was a fire pit. There is a snack shack next to the beach bar which is on St. Pete's beach. The pool supposed was heated and looked awesome, but was closed.
Cons:The pool was a major reason for choosing this hotel. I wanted a heated pool as we were traveling in December. When I confirmed over the phone before booking the pool was heated; the receptionist said the pool would be closed for the first dayof our stay...however, we could use the pool at the next door hotel. The PostCard Inn pool was being filled when we arrived, so I looked forward to hanging out there and happily used the heated pool next door at "BeachComber". Unfortunately, during our entire stay of 4 days, the pool never opened. This was extremely dissapointing. On the third day heading over to BeachComber's pool, I was hassled by their maids for using their pool, they called their supervisor to confirm that we did not have access to their pool, but let us go swimming there anyway. The low was 40F one night we were there. So in anticipation, I turned up the thermostat to 75F that nice. I am fairly confident the heat wasn't working...because it was very cold. The next night was again cold, and I cranked up the thermostat to its maximum...88F and still was cold. The rooms had high ceilings, were cutely decorated but the bathrooms were tiny. Also, there were wooden blinds that could close, but no curtains to be pulled over...just decorative curtains. There was a TV and padded wooden chair. Between the room/bathroom there was a closet/dressing room...it was very tiny, but had hangers on one side and shelving on the other. The Boathouse restaurant was overpriced and wasn't really very good for dinner. We had a hamburger and shrimp tacos. Breakfast was nice though - biscuits and gravy and an omelette.
Pros:Loved the lobby full of games , books and yummy coffee
Cons:It was a rip off to have an additional charge of $22.60 per day for no justifiable reason? We received no special service, nor did the resort offer any exceptional amenities? The overall experience was mediocre and I would not recommend it to my friends or family.

Pros:Liked the beachy/surfer "feel" of the location. I travelled in January and the weather wasn't great (windy and cold) plus there is some construction going on, mostly in the main lobby I believe. This really didn't impact my trip, as I was there for a friends wedding taking place literally just down the road. For the money and location, great value. I'd love to come back here and enjoy the pool/beach during the summer!
Cons:Loud people next door and above my room - or perhaps the walls are just a little thin? The room could use some new paint and a few non-essential updates.
