Good Location .
Bed was not comfy. It creaked. The shower mixer didn't work properly so hot water came out without any cold. Water was very hot, so we had to have a bath and not shower. Water emptied out of the bath at a painfully slow rate. I had to plunge my hand over the sink hole to get it out.
Access to WiFi is very difficult.
Traditional old hotel with free breakfast and very friendly staff. Bus stop (Century Buildings) 2min away (Airport to St Helier £2.30 each). Beech, Cafe, Elizabeth Castle tour 3min away. Resident parrot called Button. Can use swimming pool in the hotel next door. St Helier Town Centre 5-10min walk way. Price was great value. Happy to store bags past the 10am check out time. Relaxed atmosphere.
Some might find the hotel tired, the hotel creaks from age (which might annoy a light sleeper). We liked the the quirkyness of hotel so not really a con for us. Even the rickety old lift was sweet. The only niggle we had was around 9:15, if the eating hall external door is open (to let in air), smoke from the hotel staff can creap in. As non smokers, this was a turn off. However, this would only affect the last row of the eating area at the back, so we didn't eat in the last row.
charmful, flexible and competent welcome and exit process, hot spot to the city
seems to us that the hotel should invest some money to brush up its rooms
Hello button Creaky carpeted lift Let us store bike safely Good breakfast
The kettle was broken The showerhead was bad The pillows were doughy
