The reception staff was very kind
Cleaning staff was intrusive (she tried to break into the room when I was sleeping ... and after)
our stay was made perfet by this amazing hotel. the rooms were clean, comfy and the bathroom spacious and clean.
The hotel is quite confortable and very close to Vatican. Fabio was in charge one day and we found him very thoughtful and very willing to help. Room is very cosy.
When you arrive you have to carry your baggage to the first floor. The lift is on the first floor. If you can't carry it you have to ask for help. Some staff are not very simpatic.
The bed was uncomfortable, the staff when I informed them that the room didn’t match the pictures on booking, told me that’s what you get when you book an “economy room”. The curtains clashed with the bedspread on the foldout bed which clashed with the wall; it was the ugliest room. The inside of the little fridge was dirty. The ac was poor and they knew about it before we got there because they woke us up on our first morning to fix it. We had got in after it was cooler in the day so we didn’t notice the low function. They want you out of your room by 11 so they can clean it every day. We had days we were so tired we didn’t want to leave our room. The grocery nearby, I believe it was called Pam, had the biggest selection of gluten free items I have ever seen.
The ugly room was a let down but the bathroom may have been worse. It was so much more cramped than the pictures! I attempted to use the bidet once but my knees were touching the wall and it was too awkward; good for short people only. You have to walk sideways in an “L” past the bidet to get to the shower door. The shower head fell on my head several times during our stay. The neighbor in the next building had terrible hearing so watched their tv very loudly until midnight and it made it hard to sleep. The rooms were non smoking yet the hall always smelled of smoke and occasionally the smell crept into our room. I asked to be moved to a different room but they said they had none. We left a day early to escape. Places like this make it hard to feel confident in booking accommodations.
