The hotel is situated 3 min walk from the main railway station at the entrance to the old town. Itself it looks like a chique and magnificent palace, very nice from the outside. The hotel is managed by some Spanish company, so don't expect much from it. It looks extremely tired of this life. I had a room on the 3rd floor and it was... like.. old. It was clean, sort of normal, but old and one understands, in a need of a renovation. Breakfast was very rich and tasty, although I had some unpleasant feeling in my stomach after that during the whole day. Breakfast room is a spectacular ball hall, very charming place to have a breakfast in!
The room was very cold and there was no heating in the bathroom. There was no possibility to close the bath and all the water was dropping on the floor, while I took shower. The bed was comfortable to sleep, however very short for me (183 cm tall) and thus a bit annoying. There's a strange system of turning on the lights in the room. The door to the room is closed with a usual key and the door is very thin and you can hear everything, which happens in the corridor or the hall. For a 4* hotel I would expect tea making facilities in the room, which were absent. There was a bottle of water on the table, however not clear if this is complimentary or not. Breakfast was fine, however potatoes were cold and not salted at all, tasteless. I can not recommend this hotel, since it never comes even close to a service you will expect from a usual 4* hotel in Germany and in Bavaria in particular. I will definitely choose another hotel during my next business trip to Regensburg.
The location, breakfast, and staff
The mattress wasn't nice, very old, bad pillows. The building smell a cigarette and like old space
Extremely dirty room and hotel . Totally not like it looks in pic . Will never come back
A beautiful historical building in an excellent location.
The desk staff was unsure about my reservation and requested a "voucher" which I did not have because I booked the hotel online. More detail to cleanliness would have been helpful. The bathroom smelled a little - but perhaps it was because of the rain and high Danube levels.
