A very quaint 1800's era inn, with all of the charm of days gone by. There were wine glasses and a cork screw in the room, as well as a basket with some snacks, simple things that were just a few of the nice touches. A very restful place, and we were made to feel welcome the minute we walked in the front door.
better casual seating in the room, less noisy exhaust fan in bathroom.
Breakfast was delicious and had a theme!!
The owner. She was very social and if I needed anything, I am sure she would have done anything possible to secure it!!
We received a very friendly and welcoming greeting. Room was very neat and clean Walking distance to downtown was wonderful and convenient!!
Shower/bathroom was exceptionally small.
Connie was extremely welcoming and friendly. The Inn was spotless and I am EXTREMELY picky about cleanliness. I stayed in the Daisy Room and it was very cozy, comfortable, clean, charming and bright but could darken with the shades if preferred. Connie had all off the necessities in the room plus extras which I have NEVER found in other B&B's or hotels. (I always have to go ask for extras) There were plenty of fluffy, soft towels for showering plus multiple wash clothes and hand towels. There was even toothpaste in case someone forget to bring it as well as a nightlight in the bathroom! It's location is also fantastic. It's 2 blocks from downtown so an easy walk to everything therefore eliminating the need to drive and struggle finding a parking place, The breakfast was delicious and very filling. The morning I was there I had a fruit, yogurt and granola parfait, yummy pumpkin french toast with pure Maine maple syrup and sausage. There was fresh fruit, delicious coffee and multiple choices if tea is your preference also. I highly recommend Candlebay Inn and will definitely stay there again if I'm in Freeport.
That I couldn't have stayed another night or two at this charming Inn
Our beds were comfortable, breakfast was so lovely and Connie is beyond gracious. The rooms feel like Maine and it is close to everything, but on a quiet street. Both my mother and sister were traveling with me and they wished we could have stayed on and explored from here rather than moving on.
We loved everything.
