Pros: A very uniqe place with beautiful surounding! A huge room with style and character. Clean room and helpfull staff. Big and beautiful garden with a little river beside it. Great breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Characterful rural property with a beautiful garden. Room was cool and dark due to its position under a verandah. E xcellent breakfast. Friendly owner
Cons: Due to the age and nature of the property there was a musty smell. Very noisy creaking floor above us and plumbing above noisy too!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Quinta was a pleasant place to stay, a comfortable room with traditional furniture and good bedlinen and a new bathroom, It has rather strange surroundings but an attractive garden with a good pool and a nice country view. The owners are friendly. Breakfast is standard fare. We found restaurant im Lousa 'To dos Frangos' to be extraordinarily good value, massive portions very cheaply, beware the is a Locals section which is fun and a normal restaurant. 'Vilha' not quite so cheap but the delicious pork shin could easily have fed three!
Cons: The disadvantages are that, after a long tiring journey it was very difficult to find using GPS and the nearest restaurants are over three miles away in Lousa. The hot water supply is temperamental despite the fact we were the only guests. Wifi coverage is poor.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff very helpful and respectful
Cons: The farm is very small and dos not have restaurant for diner or lunch.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great room, silence, great garden en pool, very nice breakfast and tasteful dinners. Perfect place to come to rest.
Cons: I was travelling by public transport, than the location is a bit outside but still manageable if you use taxis. For 2 dinners, 1 lunchbox and 1 clothing washing I paid 60 euros what is a bit high to Portugese norms.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This place is set in farmland on the outskirts of Lousa and has great rustic charm. It is a good base for exploring the local area and is a very comfortable, quiet and relaxing place to stay. This is probably mostly to do with the philosophy expressed by Filipe (the son of the owners who met us on arrival): 'when you come through our gates you are at home'. Guests are genuinely trusted and encouraged to treat the property as their home. All the rooms are decorated with an individual theme, are comfortable and immaculately clean. The grounds are lovely with lots of places to sit quietly or to socialise with others. The pool is good for a cool off after a long day. Breakfast is simple but fresh and tasty. We also had dinner on one of our nights stay, enjoying fresh local cuisine and the company of some fellow guests. Highly recommended.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very well decorated room.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful. Pool area really relaxing. Liked the animals around us. The bar facilities really good and well priced. We enjoyed our balcony area.

Pros: The hotel is located very near from the Coimbra-A train station, less than 3 minutes walk. It is also very near the old University and other monuments, 10-15 minutes walking distance. The room was very tidy and comfortable. The receptionist tried very hard to give good advises how to spend the time in the town. The breakfast is rather basic, but still very nice.

Pros: The hotel is well located and relatively easy to find in the city. The room for two adults and one child was good, with a view to the river and the city.

Cons: Garage is terrible, dark, unsafe and lacks ventilation. Had a CO alarm while there and it was scare. Very bad engineering. One needs to manouver on the top of the exit ramp to get out. Location is very bad on a really rundown area of the city. Quite depressing. Rooms had very ugly. Carpet is ugly, dated and filthy. One has tô wheat sandals. Dryer was bad. TV was really bad as far as image quality. Beds and pillows were really bad. All furniture was of bad quality. Internet was ridículos. Scratchy signal and when working (very seldon) was worse than the dial up of the old times. And staff had no idea or solution. Once they suggested me to walk around my room to improve the signal. I ha 2 iPads and 2 two iPhones and some times no one could get a signal. the sad part is that this one is supposed to be the best hotel in Coimbra. I guess I will never visit coimbra again.

Cons: The coffee at breakfast was very bad - instant coffee from a machine. Too bad, as breakfast itself was nice,
10.0 Excellent

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean place, everything well organized, very quiet zone at night time. I definitely recommend this place to any one. I love it.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Linens were fantastic - especially the towels. Staff friendly and helpful. Quiet place.
Cons: A little far (and uphill on the way back) from attractions.
6.7 Good
Pros: The rooms are well equipped and the hostel itself is nice in terms of facilities and what it offers. Wifi is so basic though that it not working forced me to lower my rating for the facilities. It was generally pretty clean though
Cons: A lot actually, the self check in system meant we never got to encounter a single staff member till by accident we entered the kitched in the morning before checking out. The wifi didnt work at all, the ned was uncomfortable, the entire place was pretty much a ghost town, and granted we did arrive around 10, we still didnt see a single person in the morning. The whole experience was subpar at best, and honestly there were better options in the area, we chose this to take a break from airbnbs and get a more social experience, which we did not.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room had everything what was needed, it was clean and the price was reasonable. I enjoyed staying in this place.
Cons: Place is located a bit far away from the city centre but I enjoyed walking so it wasn't a big deal to me.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly place. Good car parking.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Be prepared to get the full residence hall vibe! Entering the accommodation was pretty easy, just call the staff (phone number on the door) and they will open the door for you. Also you‘ll receive an email with alle the information about check-in, wifi, etc.. wich also means you can do the check-in at any time. The rooms are small and simple but clean and cozy, you‘ll find everything you need, even had my own bathroom en suite. I arrived with a car and was allowed to park it on the courtyard, wich is a big plus, but parking on the street around the hostel is also free. Location wise, you‘ll make your way to the university and the botanic gardens in just a few minutes by walking down the hill. Enjoyed staying there, would recommend especially for young backpackers/travelers.
Cons: The kitchen is used by a lot of people, mainly students, so don’t expect it to be as clean as your kitchen at home, but for preparing your breakfast it’s all fine As i said, there are a lot of young people/students living there, so be prepared to hear them talking and laughing till late at night
9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was great. Simple and quick check in. Very clean. The hostel looks nice and like small hotel with separate rooms for 2 people.
Cons: Crazy climbing to reach the hostel. Not perfect location. But not so far ftom down town.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: It’s like a homecoming ..helpful lovely staff ..very quiered sleeps well ..
Cons: Bathroom water from 2 wc running nonstop ..guests should be more aware how they flush and leave the place
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The building next to Sé Velha - Coimbra. You can see beautiful view all day. Bed is comfortable. But 4 beds room in 3 floor without elevator. Breakfast is not bad, if add egg is more better.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The front desk staff was excellent—warm, accommodating, and helpful when I needed to change rooms. The rooms and bathrooms were extremely clean and the beds were comfortable. The hostel is located within walking distance of pubs, cafes, shops. An easy walk up to the Machado Museum and quick (10-minute walk) access to the town center.
Cons: Slightly noisy but hey, it’s a hostel. It’s to be expected. If you bring earplugs or headphones, you’ll be fine.

7.5 Good
Pros: parking and location in the center
Cons: the view from my room was on roofs and air pipes
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location. The road is easy to walk from railway to the hotel.
Cons: No.
6.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was ok, something warm to start the day might have been better. Central, handy for restaurants.
Cons: Air conditioning didn’t work, bathroom extractor ineffective, shower tray not deep enough, consequently flooding the flood at every shower. Under ground parking .. good, access is difficult, especially for larger cars.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was very good, probably could do with more variety if cereal like fibre. great value!
Cons: The coffee. Found the coffee from the machine too sweet. I don’t use sugar
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ibis Hotel is perfectly situated in Coimbra next to the Mondego river and park near the old part of the historic city. Breakfast is exceptional, a great selection well arranged and kept fresh by attentive service providers. The louge is small but comfortable with two large screen TV and free use of two computers with a printer. There is 24 hour service available. I especially appreciated the comfortable bed and wonderful pillows. The hotel is environmentally correct in saving water and using chemical free products. The decor is innovative and pleasing. I really enjoyed my stay at the Coimbra Ibis hotel.

4.0 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Loud music until 3-4am from two neighboring night clubs! We were on the 5th floor with close windows and still couldn't sleep. Older receptions staff required paperwork. No other hotels asked me for one.
5.0 Okay
Pros: breakfast was good, staff was very friendly and the rooms were nice. excellent location.
Cons: WiFi signal was weak on the 4th floor tap water had a clear metallic taste, plus it didn't have any pressure. on top of that, it was very hard to regulate the faucets (no matter how hard I tried I couldn't get lukewarm temperature, it was either freezing cold or boiling hot)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Old world charm
Cons: All good
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I was surprised how well the toilets smelled at the ground floor. It's a rare thing. I told my colleagues and we all checked for a good whiff. Wifi was also good, just a bit slow during peak hours, but it always worked. I liked the 'honesty bar'
Cons: All houses in Portugal are chilly in Winter. They were never built for it. I did need my extra sheets in the room to work there.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Location
Cons: This hotel might have been great 100 years ago but now it’s a very sad, run down place. No WIFI in rooms, old, peeling wallpaper, stained, dirty carpets. The water in shower was impossible to regulate, it went from cold to scalding with the tiniest turn. I didn’t even bother with a shower the second day and had one once I arrived in Lisbon. The place needs a lot of money spending on it to bring it up to standard. Just wish I’d paid a few euros more for a much higher standard of accommodation. The Ibis, although lacking in character, would even have been a far more comfortable stay.
7.7 Good
Pros: Very good buffet breakfast was included
Cons: This hotel is very old and sparse but clean. Could use updating current for charging electronic items or for international travellers.
4.0 Okay
Pros: It is something your parents would’ve thought really nice 50 years ago. Make it 75 years ago. Although the Art deco Decour appears original it has been well-maintained.
Cons: It is a prime candidate for a major redo and have shiny 4 stars. There is a certain “aroma“ that shows it’s age.
6.0 Good
Pros: Amazing vintage lift, great location and great views of river and city, breakfast average
Cons: Hotel still in the last century, classic building but needs a interior makeover. Furniture antiquated and beds not that comfortable
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel from the Art Deco era.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely traditional building - lots of space - good facilities - clean - friendly staff
Cons: HOWEVER - this is a student area and they partied all night right outside the hostel - until dawn - and this is January! The noise was incessant and then there was pissing in the street outside!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We changed to an in-suite doble room and the hostel standard increased significantly. Better isolation, heaters available and really comfy bed.
Cons: It is fine if you don't have to use shared bathrooms, not for hygiene or cleanliness, but for low temperature and lack of proper isolation of the space.
6.0 Good
Pros: Really good placement to visit Coimbra.
Cons: We visited it on December. Showers were together at bottom level and in this area were not any heat source or equipment to warm the room, so was hard to take a proper shower. Water was hot and fine, but atmosphere really cold. Some rooms without heater were also not really comfortable and a bit cold also.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were so friendly and welcoming to us and our dog
Cons: There was nothing we didn't like
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Maybe having more cooking supplies in the kitchen, it looked like we were the only ones using the kitchen so perhaps it’s not really made for clients to use
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good shower room. Good and complete breakfast. Comfortable bedroom and bed.
Cons: Lack of bathrooms close to the rooms.
7.0 Good
Pros: Great central location, nice staff, clean, great price.
Cons: Cold at Night as old building and no heating, thin bedding, obviously this will only affect you in the two winter months when PT is at its coldest.
