10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very uniqe place with beautiful surounding! A huge room with style and character. Clean room and helpfull staff. Big and beautiful garden with a little river beside it. Great breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Characterful rural property with a beautiful garden. Room was cool and dark due to its position under a verandah. E xcellent breakfast. Friendly owner
Cons: Due to the age and nature of the property there was a musty smell. Very noisy creaking floor above us and plumbing above noisy too!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The Quinta was a pleasant place to stay, a comfortable room with traditional furniture and good bedlinen and a new bathroom, It has rather strange surroundings but an attractive garden with a good pool and a nice country view. The owners are friendly. Breakfast is standard fare. We found restaurant im Lousa 'To dos Frangos' to be extraordinarily good value, massive portions very cheaply, beware the is a Locals section which is fun and a normal restaurant. 'Vilha' not quite so cheap but the delicious pork shin could easily have fed three!
Cons: The disadvantages are that, after a long tiring journey it was very difficult to find using GPS and the nearest restaurants are over three miles away in Lousa. The hot water supply is temperamental despite the fact we were the only guests. Wifi coverage is poor.
7.5 Good
Pros: Very well decorated room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staff very helpful and respectful
Cons: The farm is very small and dos not have restaurant for diner or lunch.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great room, silence, great garden en pool, very nice breakfast and tasteful dinners. Perfect place to come to rest.
Cons: I was travelling by public transport, than the location is a bit outside but still manageable if you use taxis. For 2 dinners, 1 lunchbox and 1 clothing washing I paid 60 euros what is a bit high to Portugese norms.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This place is set in farmland on the outskirts of Lousa and has great rustic charm. It is a good base for exploring the local area and is a very comfortable, quiet and relaxing place to stay. This is probably mostly to do with the philosophy expressed by Filipe (the son of the owners who met us on arrival): 'when you come through our gates you are at home'. Guests are genuinely trusted and encouraged to treat the property as their home. All the rooms are decorated with an individual theme, are comfortable and immaculately clean. The grounds are lovely with lots of places to sit quietly or to socialise with others. The pool is good for a cool off after a long day. Breakfast is simple but fresh and tasty. We also had dinner on one of our nights stay, enjoying fresh local cuisine and the company of some fellow guests. Highly recommended.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful. Pool area really relaxing. Liked the animals around us. The bar facilities really good and well priced. We enjoyed our balcony area.
Cons: The room was large and spacious but being over the garage there was at times a smell of petrol.

5.8 Okay
Pros: Nice breakfast that was included with our booking.
Cons: Our room wasn’t ready when we arrived at check in time. We went to the bar to wait until it was ready. Had to go find a server for our bill. I’m a coffee person and there was no coffee in our room...just tea. The hotel just seem “tired” to us.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Exceptional place. Very caring staff. A historic villa. The garden with magnificent plants. Breakfast very good. Large private parking. The hotel is on the opposite bank of the river from the old town, which was fine, as we travelled by car and driving into the old town would not be that convenient.
Cons: Nothing significant
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stately with stories. A visit in itself.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location Lovely gardens Main building old and impressive
Cons: We were at the spa building .it was far from the main building and on top of that looked like a 3 star hotel.the rooms were spacious and comfortable but the main areas were lacking furniture and felt void and completely cut from the old hotel

Location great if you are coming by train and have suitcase, short walk out of station for a couple of mins and you are there. Various restaurants and cafes are adjacent or just a few minutes walk away. Bed large and comfortable.
Cons: Not applicable
9.2 Excellent

7.1 Good
Pros: Welcoming staff and compact, clean guesthouse. Its location near the university but up a steep hill (which we were prepared for ) may not suit some people.
Cons: Our ground floor room was small and located on a busy street with continual outside noise making sleep difficult. A basin and mirror in the room would have been useful and would have added to the comfort of our stay.
7.5 Good
Pros: nice location in old town nice views from some rooms friendly staff nice library of books to borrow old building has great character good breakfast fine bathrooms for rooms without bath
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was well situated, clean and comfortable
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff. Yummy breakfast
Cons: No hot water in the morning. Burning hot later on.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Owners and staff were the BEST and accommodating, everything was super clean in spite of the facilities being older, I slept VERY well, I had everything I needed, breakfast was great. The location is at the top of the hill by the university.
Cons: The location is at the top of the hill by the university. This is both good and bad depending upon your sightseeing preferences, due to the climb up the hill from the lower town. If you can handle the climb, this is a valuable little treasure.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bedrooms, tasty breakfast, helpful staff. The location is very close to the university and has a nice view
Cons: Actually a hotel a bit lower down is probably more practical, now I had to climb up the hill every time.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We were on the top floor (a bit of a hike up the stairs, but worth it!) and had an amazing view of Coimbra rooftops and the river. Our room was roomy and there was also a view from the bathroom. We received a great welcome with information about the area. The location was great for walking around, and we happened to visit during university matriculation week, which made walking around really fun. Great value place to stay!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is excellent, the city center within walking distance. The room is nicely and comfortably furnished, excellent double bed, nice river view and hotel pool. Service at the hotel excellent, breakfast fresh and rich.
6.3 Good
Pros: The room as I booked a junior suite and was very spacious.
Cons: The service in general is very poor.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: I loved the staff. They were incredibly helpful and knowledgable about the area. The location is fabulous. A short walk to all the hot spots. I thought the room was clean and nice. It was quiet on our street.
Cons: My one problem with the place was that the walls seemed thin between the rooms. We heard our neighbor watching tv until about 4am. I managed to sleep through most of it but my wife was kept up.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Order breakfast to the room and did pay €40 .00 For this . Room service card doesn’t show any any thing in relation to this , in reality did book b&b and end up playing for the breakfast.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: In fact everything OK, really no problems. Nice big room, modern bathroom, real good bed, clean: no complaints
Cons: But because of many tourists some practical problems, sorry to say, but full elevator with really long waiting. Impossible to do quick going up to room, to garage, to breakfast and to pay, everytime to wait for the elevator. Furthermore: Noc issues and Coimbra is a nice city!
3.1 Mediocre
Pros: Staff was very nice. Food was good but it it hard to find bad portugueses food.
Cons: Garage is terrible, dark, unsafe and lacks ventilation. Had a CO alarm while there and it was scare. Very bad engineering. One needs to manouver on the top of the exit ramp to get out. Location is very bad on a really rundown area of the city. Quite depressing. Rooms had very ugly. Carpet is ugly, dated and filthy. One has tô wheat sandals. Dryer was bad. TV was really bad as far as image quality. Beds and pillows were really bad. All furniture was of bad quality. Internet was ridículos. Scratchy signal and when working (very seldon) was worse than the dial up of the old times. And staff had no idea or solution. Once they suggested me to walk around my room to improve the signal. I ha 2 iPads and 2 two iPhones and some times no one could get a signal. the sad part is that this one is supposed to be the best hotel in Coimbra. I guess I will never visit coimbra again.
6.0 Good
Pros: The hotel is modern and nice
Cons: They didn't have parking, I didn't have a place to park and it was heavily raining, I . They have parking for 8 Euro per night .
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Pools, gym, steam room were all fantastic!
Cons: The pillows were either too big or too small! Small detail but would greatly improve stay!
Riversuites - Coimbra - Bedroom

8.6 Excellent (1,955 reviews)

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a business center, and complimentary newspapers in the lobby. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location good, room and bathroom compact but adequate for one night stay. However, we didn't sleep well due to noise until 2am made by staff, I presume, moving furniture... Be prepared to carry your luggage some distance as parking is on-street.
Cons: Noise downstairs someone dragging furniture until 2am. We heard it from the top floor. Inconsiderate... No parking, we had to park on the street distance away.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff cordially and very helpful
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Value for money
Cons: Very small bathroom
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location of the hotel is excellent and at walking distance to major attractions in the historical center. The staff were helpful and very kind, no objection at all. Decent breakfast. WiFi connection and speed adequate. Airconditioning worked as it should. There are a couple of (cheap) restaurants on the same street right next door.
Cons: Breakfast was decent, but really nothing to write home about (few choices coupled to zero day-to-dayvariety), and they haven't heard of having salt&pepper available anywhere (this actually seemed to be endemic to all Portugal eateries that I have visited, rally strange). The room I was staying in was tiny. As a consequence: barely adequately big bathroom with minuscule sink. No wardrobe, no desk, no chair. therefore if you need to work, you have to do it on the bed! There was only one power outlet in the room beside the two for bed lights. No safe box or refrigerator in the room either. Since I was alone and stayed only for 4 nights it was OK, but for a couple staying in this double-bed room it would be crowded and if you need to do any serious amount of work - look elsewhere.
6.7 Good
Cons: No fridge in the room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location with easy stroll and cafes along the way to old town. Quiet spot, super helpful staff who spoke excellent English.Couldn't have been happier.
Cons: No complaints

Pros: Very kind and helpful staff. Great suggestions for food and highlights of the city. Car park very close to the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a good location close to the train station and the main centre and bottom of the hill to the university. The hotel was clean & comfortable, we had breakfast included & still found this to be good value. The perfect place to stay for visiting the city we would stay again.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice shower
Cons: The bed is quite small, we asked for an extra bed sheet but this was not possible. The toilet roll is filled with loose paper from other leftover rolls. The room was also very damp.
7.5 Good
Pros: Friendliness of the receptionist and his willing to help.
Cons: After checking out we had left our luggage at the hotel. When in 3 hours we came to pick them, we were not allowed to use a bathroom in the lobby with unclear explanation about the reason.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Easy check in. Rooms are basic but for the night we stayed it was perfect.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Good location for walking up into the old town. Lift is a bonus for old legs. Being able to park albeit a few metres up the road is good. Having a balcony gave a feeling of more space than there was.
Cons: Hotel was functional but basic and had a dull feel to it not helped by building works going on around.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed the staff very much. The room was comfortable and clean.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, comfortable room. Reception staff nice and friendly, nice decor and pool. Breakfast was nice and staff were lovely in the breakfast room.
Cons: Called for room service around 9.45pm and received a abrupt response that the bar was too busy to do room service. I had actually asked for food - no menu in the room (it's actually the same menu as the restaurant) didn't bother to order as despite it being listed as available until 12am it seemed to annoy staff.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Near the bus station. Easy to get in and out All the staff were very helpful. Room was great. Has a swimming pool.
Cons: A little far from center of town . 15 minute walk. Some of the younger staff at the reception desk need a little more training in how to get around the city.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable, good parking, good value for money
Cons: Breakfast could have been better
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very easy to locate off highway. Parked free in front if hotel. Staff were exceptional and helped us with directions and suggestions of sights to take in. We got two good restaurant suggestions for lunch and dinner and had their buffet breakfast. Town felt very safe to walk at night and wished we had booked more nights. Great value.

Overview Reviews
With a stay at CSI Coimbra Club & Guest House in Coimbra, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Santa Cruz Church and Coimbra University. Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Great location.
Cons: it is very dirty with some insects in the rooms.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very clean place, everything well organized, very quiet zone at night time. I definitely recommend this place to any one. I love it.
6.7 Good
Pros: The rooms are well equipped and the hostel itself is nice in terms of facilities and what it offers. Wifi is so basic though that it not working forced me to lower my rating for the facilities. It was generally pretty clean though
Cons: A lot actually, the self check in system meant we never got to encounter a single staff member till by accident we entered the kitched in the morning before checking out. The wifi didnt work at all, the ned was uncomfortable, the entire place was pretty much a ghost town, and granted we did arrive around 10, we still didnt see a single person in the morning. The whole experience was subpar at best, and honestly there were better options in the area, we chose this to take a break from airbnbs and get a more social experience, which we did not.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Room had everything what was needed, it was clean and the price was reasonable. I enjoyed staying in this place.
Cons: Place is located a bit far away from the city centre but I enjoyed walking so it wasn't a big deal to me.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Friendly place. Good car parking.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Be prepared to get the full residence hall vibe! Entering the accommodation was pretty easy, just call the staff (phone number on the door) and they will open the door for you. Also you‘ll receive an email with alle the information about check-in, wifi, etc.. wich also means you can do the check-in at any time. The rooms are small and simple but clean and cozy, you‘ll find everything you need, even had my own bathroom en suite. I arrived with a car and was allowed to park it on the courtyard, wich is a big plus, but parking on the street around the hostel is also free. Location wise, you‘ll make your way to the university and the botanic gardens in just a few minutes by walking down the hill. Enjoyed staying there, would recommend especially for young backpackers/travelers.
Cons: The kitchen is used by a lot of people, mainly students, so don’t expect it to be as clean as your kitchen at home, but for preparing your breakfast it’s all fine As i said, there are a lot of young people/students living there, so be prepared to hear them talking and laughing till late at night

7.0 Good
Pros: Room was charming.
Cons: Breakfast was not good at all. Bread and croissants were stale, orange juice was sweet orange nectar, tea was too weak, not much of a selection of cereals. Altogether breakfast was very poor value. The next table must have felt the same way as they left a lot of theirs too.

Pros: Very friendly & helpful staff; made to feel very welcome. All requests were responded to quickly. Great size room, beautifully presented; excellent location to all attractions & walking distance to train.
Cons: Perhaps a small desk/table to sit at.
6.0 Good
Pros: Vanessa at the front desk was very nice and helpful in recommending places to eat and see. Bedroom was what was expected for s 2 star-clean and small. Bathroom had a dead fly in the bath and towels were quite thin and worn, water pressure was good and water temp was very good. Bed was comfortable enough for s good night’d sleep. Hotel is located on the riverfront and a very short walk to the center.

7.5 Good
Pros: Good location. Clean and comfortable. Good value. Easy access by car and could park right outside. The historical town was within easy access and also close to Alto Coimbra.
Cons: The breakfast. It was not good and the bread was commercial not the rustic type we have been used to eating whilst in Northern Portugal. The coffee was not of good quality which includes the meat and cheese. Could do so much better even though the kitchen area was tiny.

Pros: Central location, however you never feel safe.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We met Jorge upon our arrival and he was very helpful and friendly. He gave us good tips on how to get around the town. The pension is very typical but very well kept. The room was really comfortable and clean. The location is excellent if you travel by train as it is close to the old station. It is also not far from the main sites in town. The value for the price is good and I would definitely recommend this pension.

Pros: good place to find
Cons: no parking for car,no communication from staff
8.2 Excellent
Pros: The apartment itself was large enough for our family. It was clean and ready upon arrival. The location was incredible- you were within walking distance to everything. Wifi was included and the suggested places to shop and eat were helpful.
Cons: To get there by car took some courage considering the narrow roads. This property operated more like an AirBnB since we never met the owner/host.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: kindly owner,nice communicate,great location,fantastic balcony
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The view from the balcony side was amazing, especially in the evening when you could see down to the plaza (Santa Clara) with events - free fado! It is a short walk up/down the hill to many eateries and attractions and not far to walk from the train station. It's compact, but clean, has a great shower and is suitable for a family on a short stay.
Cons: The street noise/fado venue/bar go until very late on the bedroom side, and with the bright lights outside, it is not really possible to leave the shutters open. Luckily there was a fan! You can hear the upstairs neighbours walking around, which might be a problem for light sleepers. Stairs may be an issue for some, as well as the steep hill to access the apartment.

Pros: The staff parked our car, great location with a cool rooftop terrace to enjoy sunset drinks.
Cons: Nothing to complain about.

Pros: Location, window view, facilities maintenance, staff's cordiality.
Cons: Late check-in, 3:00 PM. My room wasn't serviced with housekeeping.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great central location. Friendly and helpful staff. Great kitchen zone equipped with everything necessary which can be used 24 hours. Either for coocking or just to sit with friends. Good interior design.
Cons: Double-deck bed in private double room. Not very comfortable. Also bathroom shared on entire floor not only with some other room. No parking places nearby.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great place! In the middle of the old town, right next to the old cathedral and university. Very very kind and helpful people in the reception. Clean and modern bathrooms, good breakfast. I will come back :-)
Cons: The electricity is on only when you put your room card in the card reader by the door so it's impossible to charge anything when your out without leaving your card in the dorm.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The best parts about the Serenata are the friendly staff, the location to the university and old Town, and the walk along the river is beautiful. The prices are relatively affordable for Europe 13.50 euros for a meal for one is considered expensive.
Cons: The only minor complaint was that I had to climb 3 flights of stairs after walking all day up and down the steep hills. There is no elevators so not so friendly for those who have difficulty climbing stairs.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Ibis hotels are consistently efficient, no-frills hotels for business and frugal tourist travelers, and this one fit the bill. The staff was friendly, capable, and helpful. The hotel was busy, but the restaurant and elevators served us well. They have some private parking for a fee and we were able to use it, but during the busy season the parking will fill and guests will probably need to use a public parking garage. The location is facing the Mondego River and adjacent to the Botanical Garden. The tourist/historical areas are within ready walking distances.
Cons: A safe in the hotel room would be appreciated. Also, it would be helpful if they would provide reservations for their parking.
7.9 Good
Cons: Wifi is a bit slow in room.

Pros: I loved the pillows!
Cons: I didn’t love that we had no hand towels or face clothes. Would like bar soap and regular shsmpoo

Pros: Room was clean and the bed very confortable. Nice service in general.
Cons: Breakfast did not offer big variety of food. No salads or vegetable in general but fruits.

Pros: Nice breakfast with lots of options, facilities were modern and clean, the staff was friendly. Located in the center of the city.
Cons: I was told I was going to be just 2 people (in a room of 4) but at 2 am two guys walked in very loudly, and did that repeatedly during the night which was very unpleasant. The area is central but quite noisy if you stay on a Friday night.
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Wi-Fi was not the best at the room
