Location for Pompei ruins was very good
Owners switched off air conditioning with master switch in reception when you go out of hotel. When you returned the rooms would be hot and If he didn’t remember to switch back on when you returned you have to go down and ask him!!
Great location, clean and attractive hotel, good Wi-Fi and air conditioning. Very pleasant room and comfy bed. Loved the balcony. The two young staff members were lovely. A good restaurant across the road.
No cooked breakfast, just a cold buffet, no restaurant on premises although advertised (a good one across the road). No aircon except in rooms. No light on balcony. Door lock dodgy. Phone in room didnt work. Shower wasnt cleaned. No rooftop terrace! Seats outside were pleasant but in the carpark. No fridge/minibar
Very good location near the entrance(s) to historic ruins. Nice terrace (unfortunately full of moscitoes), excellent parking place in the shade. Hotel has great potential to be very good, but ruined by grumpy and stingy owner.
Carefully (under)dosed breakfast. Almost unfriendly owner and (some of the) staff. Air condition is promptly disconnected as soon as you leave the room (rule of the house) so the room is terribly hot when you return. It is positioned in such a way that it hits your head, so you're better off trying to survive tropical heat. Potentially great hotel is almost vacant due to poor treatment of the guests. There is no other place on earth that has so many bloodthirsty moscitoes! If you're staying just for one night it might be acceptable due to good location, but otherwise avoid in large cycle.
On a quiet street nearby restaurants and the archeological site
A traditional family run hotel with an Italian feel rather than a bland box. Not luxurious but it had everything we needed and the bathrooms (en suite) were nice. Only B&B available but plenty of restaurants & bars nearby. Literally across the road from the Pompeii ruins, easy walking distance of the town centre. We walked to the train station with our luggage with no problem (about 15 minutes).
Not suitable for people with mobility problems as there was no lift.
With a stay at Hotel degli Amici, you'll be centrally located in Pompei, a 1-minute drive from Pompeii Archaeological Park and 14 minutes from Museo Archeologico Virtuale. Featured amenities include wired Internet access (surcharge), express check-in, and multilingual staff. For a surcharge, guests may use a shuttle from the airport to the hotel (available on request) and a train station pick-up service.
