Kept running out of water to drink :(
Asked me to pay again on arrival! I had to produce evidence that I had already paid booking.com. Suggested if I paid using my credit card the virtual payment they had received from booking.com would be cancelled? Changed room during stay due go noise through the night from room next door. Laminated flooring in first room was lifting and was a hazard to walk on. No hot water in either room. Reception was operated by young boys that did not seem to know what they were doing. Room(s) were clean on arrival but no cleaning took place during my stay. Ordered a cab from reception to the airport the night before my departure which was not ordered. No option but to take a tuk tuk as there was no sign of a taxi.
It was clean and good location.
I paid for a city view room, which I did not get. And when speaking to the reception they were not helpful and did not change my room.
Good location, not far from the Bus station and night market Cheap
The sheets seemed dirty and not changed The staff reaction is poor and slow. No elevators Very noisy rooms, not enough noise isolation from the street (right next to the night market: karaoke and songs till midnight...) Cold & low pressure water from the shower. The worst part is the staff attitude. An important piece of equipment was forgotten in the room. We warned the hotel as soon as we realized we forgot it. Initially no reaction from them. When they finally replied after 1 and a half day, they told us that they found the equipment in the trash and threw it away. In reality we are pretty sure we didn't put it in the trash and it was just left in the room. No effort was made to contact us and try to give us back what we left. They just put it in the trash and pretended we did...The result is that we lost something that is worth 5x the price of a night in their average room. So watch out for your stuff when you leave that place, they won't back you up...
The De Art is a grand old lady that has seen better days. The staff is wonderful - friendly & accommodating. We stayed 7 or 8 nights over 4 different stays. The location can’t be beat. It’s across from the river and the night market. Food selections range from great street vendors to upscale dining. Tourist stuff to do is all around you and ground transportation to anywhere is next door.
It can be very loud here. The night market will be loud until 10pm on weekends. We had one room that overlooked the lobby and we had a noisy tour group check out at 4am that was very noisy There is some kind of venue in the area and twice they were very loud until 3am. The facilities are getting run down. The hotel attempted renovations and didn’t hire the right contractors. New bathtubs were not installed properly so they cracked and pulled away from their frame. The plumbing fixtures leak when used so water runs down between the tub and the wall. Water dropped from the room above onto our commode in the last room we were in.
