I loved everything about bearpacker, in the middle of everything in patong. Staff were very friendly and always at the front desk to assist. The hostel was super clean only down side is that the irish pub next door's music keeps you up at night. Would 100% return felt so comfortable there
The location was right next to the strip a two minute walk from the hostel. The food at the hostel was nice and fairly priced.
Cute new hostel with an astonishing view from the rooftop, a swimming pool, fairly spacious common area, nice location, comfy bed with curtains, big clean toilets and good pressure and hot shower. They also have a lift which is a bonus for heavy luggage or disable people. Staff is efficient and there is a convenience store right beside the hostel.
Large group Indian male travellers that pretty much ruined any plan of going to the pool since they keep staring at women and trying to sneak and take pictures. The hostel team promotes some happy hours on the rooftop that are a bit too noisy until late hours. Bring earplugs as the nearby karaoke (it's actually a bar with live music and horrible singer!), its REALLY loud and goes until almost 3am. They have these rules for stains in sheets and towels where they charge you a new one if there is ANY stain that they say won't come out. Did not happen to me, but I've saw it happening with this guy who said it was already there when he arrived but he didn't mind. They did charged him a 700 bahts for new sheets. The moment you charge people an amount for a night, the price must include eventual accidents.I understand that people can be really dirty sometimes but it's part of the business. Made me wonder if there was any stain in an area of the sheets that were folded under the bed that I could not see, caused by staff or just by the metal from bunk bed and they decided to charge me. Does not seem fair. AC was kindy tricky as it would not dry the room properly in a way I've never deal before
- roof terrace, with swimming pool, - clean, - you can book some attraction from reception desk, with pick up from the hotel, we've done it and worked well, - really good location, - no shoes policy, - parking for scooters, - they took deficit in different currency, - 24h reception desk, when you can buy drinks or water,
- it was really hard to find someone in the kitchen, few times we tried order something to eat there but never successful, - our first room did not have window, so it was quite depressing, we moved after first day and it was much better, - we saw some fight about bedsheet (with police), there is quite long regulations which you must sign in terms of that, we did not have any problems during check out, but I believe you should pay attention to that, - weird smell at the beginning, probably from air condition,
Good location and that's about it. Walking distance to the ratchet Bangla Road and Patong Beach.
Expensive to get a Grab or Taxi to Old Phuket Town and nearby beaches.
