Cons: The sign posting to find the Pousada could be improved. GPS sends you to the hotel entrance that you can not access with a car. Turning around and arriving at hotel carpark (which is onsite) is not so easy.

Pros: The staff were fabulous, they went above and beyond to keep us happy throughout the stay. The hotel was very clean and a special shout out to Tais (I think that's how you spell it) who was the one young female who could speak English and gave us advice whenever we asked and tipped us off on the best pizza and pasta in town! (after a few poor experiences in Rio). The hostel was very flexible and relaxed which we loved, for example giving us impromptu rides to the town off schedule, letting us use the pool passed the closing time and a late check out when we had a late bus. The night worker also let us use the staff microwave late one night! The 7 of us had a fabulous time and we thank you so much pousada eclipse! Xx

Cons: The shower at bathroom is so week. Temperature never stabilizes and there is no water pressure. So dificult to rinse long hair! Even with transfer, the distance to downtown with children is not a good experience.

Cons: Only negative feedback was that the WiFi was pretty weak and cut out often. I think this may be normal as the area had frequent power cuts (amazing at night to see the stars!) The location is a bit away from the center of Paraty which was saved by the free shuttle offered by the pousada.

Pros: Just like almost all buildings in the historic town, this pousada has kept most of its colonial architecture intact, adding to it a personalized touch through its quirky local decorations and beautiful colorful paintings. Centrally located, you can enjoy their spa or sip a caipirinha by the small pool in the garden or try their delicous ice cream. The rooms are spacious and finely decorated, the staff is very friendly and the breakfast is superb.

Pros: We stayed for 3 days. On the first day, we went early, around 7am, and we were really impressed by the breakfast. There was a lot of fresh fruit, juice, baked goods, etc. The second day, we went a little later, around 10am, and there were tons of flies and bugs around the food, to the point where we lost our appetite (especially when you consider the location of the pousada and its proximity to dog excrement, etc.) and didn't want to eat anything. On the third day, I didnt even bother going to breakfast because I was so turned off by all the bugs and flies I'd seen the day before. They should really invest in food covers and food nets.

Cons: The internet signal is weak and did not cover part of the room. Housekeeping was not done daily (maybe because we forgot to leave the key at reception). Finally, they charged us an additional 10% service tax on top of the total price without prior notice (it was not included or mentioned in the booking).

Cons: The pousada looks beautiful and charming and quaint in photos, but with a 5 star location and amenities. In reality, it's just old and outdated. The rooms are cramped and dark; the views that we had were of a (very noisy) street and a wall; and the bathroom felt like it hasnt been updated since the 1970s.

Cons: My bedroom was facing the street and because the hotel is smacked right on the historic center it was pretty noise overnight, so I recommend earplugs or choosing a bedroom that faces the pool but away from the kitchen because my brother got one of those which was quite at night but noise in the morning because of the kitchen But this is to expect if you want to be in the center of everything . I would definitely stay there again !!

Great swimming pool with delicious caipirinhas or juices surrounded by beautiful gardens.There was a power outage in Paraty during our stay but fortunately they have a backup power plant at the hotel, so that didn't affect us. Walking distance from the city historical centre and pear with loads of restaurants and shops nearby (and still it's a very quiet place).

Cons: Didn’t like that I had to pay at check in without even being shown around. The air conditioner in the room is very noisy. The photos of the rooms do not correspond to reality. Triple room has 3 beds side by side and quadruple rooms have 4 beds side by side.

Pros: Beautiful place, quiet perfect for both romantic and family vacations. Great swimming pool with delicious caipirinhas or juices surrounded by beautiful gardens.There was a power outage in Paraty during our stay but fortunately they have a backup power plant at the hotel, so that didn't affect us. Walking distance from the city historical centre and pear with loads of restaurants and shops nearby (and still it's a very quiet place).
Cons: Not much not to like, the only thing we noticed could be improved regarding cleaningness was the shower glass door that could be cleaned.

Pros: I was overwhelmed with the bad parts of my stay
Cons: The rooms smelled bad and were not properly cleaned. The staff was not helpful. In special in the kitchen, they made one very good dish witch is a simple traditional cheese bread but the wouldn’t make more even when requested a day in advance. We were offered a free meal as a reward because the pool was not working. Firstly they tired to charge for it at the end after complaining they deducted it partially arguing that we had ordered extra regardless of the fact that we were 3 people and one was a celiac that ordered a small salad and a small side order of beans which amounted to a total smaller then a each of the main courses of the other two guests. It is not about the money but just a full bad experience from they one.

Cons: There is not a lot to complain about (especially considering the money we paid). If there is any, I want to complain about than it's the fact that it is not directly located in the old time. However, the city center and old town is within a 5-10 minute walking distance, so not too bad at all.

Cons: Booking.com chose for me this place when I tried to find stay for me and my 1 year old baby. When I came to there the guys told me that they can't accept us and we need to pay triple price. I didn't have any choice because I'm with baby on my hands. So I payed. Guys! Don't do that any more, it's really really hard when you are responsible on baby and he's tired and want to have bed to sleep but someone can't organize the sites or sistem!!!!

The location is far from the center and you have only one transfer for free in the morning, at 9 when everything is closed in the center so you just walk around waiting for everything to open or you have a pay a taxi to go by yourself. There is quite no wifi at all. Only a bit in the lobby in front of the welcome desk. No wifi at all anywhere else and of course not in the rooms...
